  1. SHADY EIGHTIES The Eight Trey Gangster Crips, also known as Hell Gang, and Movin Gang, are a predominately African-American street gang, founded during the mid-1970s as a splinter gang off the Original West Side Crips. Rayford “Big Sidewinder” Miles was the founder who created this neighborhood which was a split-off from the West Side Crips. Sidewinder cofounded the set with Jeffrey “Big Bay” Bacot, Cornell “Hunchy” McKinney, Melvin “Skull” Farmer, and Jesse “Hillbilly” Ford were also co-founders. The original name, Original Gangster Crips, was created by Skull, but after he was arrested, Sidewinder changed the name slightly to Eight Tray Gangster Crips, because he actually lived on 83rd Street. Even though the set started on 83rd Street, it spanned north and south stretching from roughly Gage to Century, covering over 40 city blocks similar to the old boundaries of the West Side Crips. Over the years, they formed several sub-clicks and including the Original South Side, Deep South Side, Bacc West Side, Far West Side, and Nutty North Side. A section of their turf extends west past Western Avenue where St Andrews Park is located. Though the 60's and a few other gangs outnumber them in membership. North Side, Farr West Side, Original West Side (retired), Bacc West Side, and the South Side are the main cliques active within their turf. Eight Trey Gangster Crips are mostly known for their beefs with the Rollin' 60's and 90's that have been going on for over four decades. These beefs are what has led to the major split and animosity between most Gangster Crip and Neighborhood Crip sets both across LS County and the rest of San Andreas. The Gangster Crip card is said to have started as a result of the feud between the Rollin' 60's Neighborhood Crips and the 83 Gangster Crips that resulted in the Gangster Crip card being founded at Saint Andrews Park in 1979. Most Crip gangs on the East Side of South Central would choose to align themselves with 83GC, except East Coast Crip and Main Street Mafia Crip, while most gangs on the West Side allied with the Rollin' 60's under NHC/Rollin Card besides the West Los Treys, Hoovers, and 99 Mafia Crip. '92 RIOTS The 1992 Los Santos riots were a series of riots and civil disturbances that occurred in South Los Santos during April, and May 1992. Unrest began in South Central Los Santos on April 29, after a jury acquitted four officers of the Los Santos Police Department charged with using excessive force in the arrest and beating of Michael King. The incident had been videotaped by a bystander to the incident and was heavily broadcast in news and media outlets. The rioting took place in several areas in the Los Santos metropolitan area as thousands of people rioted over six days following the verdict's announcement. Widespread looting, assault, and arson occurred during the riots, which local police forces had difficulty controlling. The situation in the Los Santos area was resolved after the California National Guard, San Andreas Military, and several federal law enforcement agencies deployed more than 10,000 of their armed first responders to assist in ending the violence and unrest. When the riots ended, 63 people had been killed, 2,383 had been injured, more than 12,000 had been arrested, and estimates of property damage were over $1 billion. Little Seoul, situated just to the north of South Central LS, was disproportionately damaged. Much of the blame for the extensive nature of the violence was attributed to the LSPD Chief of Police who had already announced his resignation by the time of the riots, for failure to de-escalate the situation and overall mismanagement. Before the release of the Michael King videotape, minority community leaders in Los Santos had repeatedly complained about harassment and the use of excessive force against their residents by Los Santos Police Department officers. Chief of the LSPD from 1978 to 1992, has been attributed with much of the blame for the riots. According to one study, "scandalous racist violence... marked the LSPD under tempestuous leadership. The LSPD had begun Operation Hammer in April 1987, which was a large-scale militarized push in Los Santos. The origin of Operation Hammer can be traced to the 1984 Olympic Games held in Los Santos. The LSPD expanded gang sweeps for the duration of the Olympics. These were implemented across wide areas of the city but especially in South Central and East Los Santos, areas of predominately minority residents. After the games were over, the city began to revive the use of earlier anti-syndicalist laws in order to maintain the security policy started for the Olympic games. The police more frequently conducted mass arrests of African American youth. Citizen complaints against police brutality increased by 33 percent in the period 1984-1989. By 1990 more than 50,000 people, mostly minority males, had been arrested in such raids. During this period, the LSPD arrested more young black people since the Rancho riots of 1965. Critics have alleged that the operation was racially motivated because it used racial profiling, targeting African American and Mexican American youths. The perception that police had targeted non-white citizens likely contributed to the anger that erupted in the 1992 riots. The Christopher Commission later concluded that a "significant number" of LSPD officers "repetitively use excessive force against the public and persistently ignore the written guidelines of the department regarding force." The biases related to race, gender, and sexual orientation were found to have regularly contributed to the LSPD's use of excessive force. The commission's report called for the replacement of both Chief Of Police and the civilian Police Commission. POLICE INTERVENTION AT 71st AND NORMANDIE At Florence and Halldale, two officers issued a plea for assistance in apprehending a young Eight Trey gang member who had thrown an object at their car and whom they were pursuing on foot. Approximately two dozen officers, commanded by 77th Street Division LSPD Lieutenant Eric Moulin, arrived and arrested the youth, 16-year-old Sean Daniels, forcing him into the back of a car. The rough handling of the young man, a well-known minor in the community, further agitated an uneasy and growing crowd, who began taunting and berating the police. The police formed a perimeter around the arresting officers as the crowd grew more hostile, leading to further altercations and arrests. One member of the crowd stole the flashlight of an LSPD officer. Fearing police would resort to deadly force to repel the growing crowd. Lieutenant Moulin ordered officers out of the area altogether. Moulin later said that officers on the scene were outnumbered and unprepared to handle the situation because their riot equipment was stored at the police academy. Moulin made the call for reporting officers to retreat from the 71st and Normandie area entirely at approximately 5:50 p.m. They were sent to an RTD bus depot at 54th and Arlington and told to await further instructions. The command post formed at this location was set up at approximately 6 p.m. but had no cell phones or computers other than those in squad cars. It had insufficient numbers of telephone lines and handheld police radios to assess and respond to the situation. Finally, the site had no televisions, which meant that as live broadcasts of unrest began, command post officers could not see any of the coverage. After the retreat of officers at 71st and Normandie, many proceeded one block south to the intersection of Florence and Normandie. Just after 6 p.m., a group of young men broke the padlock and windows to Tom's Liquor, allowing a group of more than 100 people to raid the store and loot it. Concurrently, the growing number of rioters in the street began attacking civilians of non-black appearance, throwing debris at their cars, pulling them from their vehicles when they stopped, smashing window shops, or assaulting them while they walked on the sidewalks. As a member of the film crew continued to film the scene on the ground with his camcorder, the Los Santos News Service team arrived in a news helicopter, broadcasting from the air. The LANS feed appeared life on numerous Los Santos television venues. At approximately 6:15 p.m., as reports of vandalism, looting, and physical attacks continued to come in, Moulin elected to "take the information" but not to respond or send personnel to restore order or rescue people in the area. Moulin was relieved by a captain, ordered only to assess the Florence and Normandie area, and, again, not to attempt to deploy officers there. Meanwhile, bystanders in the area labeled the police presence as "none". Although the Los Santos Mayor lifted the curfew, signaling the official end of the riots, sporadic violence and crime continued for a few days afterward. Schools, banks, and businesses reopened. Federal troops did not stand down until May 9. The Army National Guard remained until May 14. Some National Guard soldiers remained as late as May 27. Between fifty and sixty people had died and two thousand more were injured. Damage estimates climbed to nearly $1 billion. While residents tried to rebuild their communities, federal authorities charged the four police officers in the King case with civil rights violations. Two of the officers were found guilty and sentenced to prison. THE 3X/GANGSTER CRIP CARD As many major "Gangster Crip vs. Gangster Crip'' wars began to pop off, it caused sets such as 42/43/48 Gangster Crips, 87 Gangster Crips, 97 Gangster Crips, and Budlong Gangster Crips to become friendly with Rollin/Neighborhood/Blocc Crip gangs due to their ongoing beefs with more respected Gangster Crip factions like 83 Gangsters, Avalon Gangsters, and Broadway Gangsters. Gangster Crip sets that align themselves with anything claiming Rollin'/NHC/BC are automatically considered "unofficial" or "watered down” by sets that abide by traditional GC/3X politics. Gangster Crip sets that prioritize beefing with NHC/2X Crip gangs over older blood rivalries often use the phrase “G before the C'' to signify their loyalty to the Gangster Crip card alone as opposed to the larger Crip umbrella as a whole. In recent years the younger generation of members from Gangster Crip sets have even gone as far as to cross color lines and associate with Blood gangs like BPS, NHP, and IFGB due to their shared hatred of the Neighborhood Crip/2X gangs despite past feuds between the two sides in earlier decades. Which has led to modern day alliances in the city such as "Suwoop Movin Groovin" that would not have been tolerated during the height of “Blood vs. Crip” gang wars the city experienced in prior decades. The Suwoop, Movin, Groovin movement is an unofficial alliance between various different Blood, Crip, and Hoover gangs on the West side of South Los Santos. Suwoop, Movin, and Groovin was allegedly formed around 2010 when several gangs who feud heavily with the Neighborhood card came together under one alliance, with the Eight Trey Gangster Crips and the Inglewood Family Gangster Bloods being the main sets mentioned. At one time, the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips and the Eight Tray Gangster Crips were close allies and often fought rival gangs together. However, by the early 1980s, they were engaged in all-out warfare. In September 1979 a 15-year-old member of the Eight Tray Gangster Crips got into a fight with a teenage member of the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips over a girl who had been dating both young men. In a subsequent fist-fight between the two teenagers, a new recruit to the Eight Trays, eager to make a name for himself, pulled a gun and shot the Rollin 60s member to death. The older brother of the 60s member who was killed, also a member of the Rollin 60's himself, demanded that the Eight Trays hand over the new recruit to be punished in order to prevent a war between the two gangs. The Eight-Trays were unable to find the new recruit for he had already turned himself in to the police. The Rollin 60's, feeling that the "Treys" weren't being honest, murdered a member of the Eight Trays in retaliation. Although a meeting was called by the leaders of both gangs in an attempt to end the fight, tensions were so high between them that the meeting erupted into a gang rumble, after which the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips and the Eight Tray Gangster Crips engaged in a gang war that still exists to this day. This rivalry is responsible for being the first Crip-on-Crip rivalry in history. The feud has spilled over into surrounding neighborhoods, forcing other gangs to chose sides in the conflict. Gangs who aligned themselves with the Eight Tray Gangster Crips adopted the “Gangster Crips” or Tray(3x) card while those who aligned themselves with the Rollin 60’s adopted the "Neighbor Hood Crips" or Deuce(2x) card.
  2. (A video is shared around and begins to circulate through social media accounts showcasing LeShawn Jackson, father of five and beloved hometown chef, being murdered by a Los Santos police officer in his own work place, South Central's very own Ring of Fire located on the corner of Strawberry Ave and Innocence Blvd.) https://streamable.com/9d8yf7 (( The video is from the business's CCTV perspective. It would have captured the shooting in great detail. ))

  4. The Rollin Stones (History) The Rollin 30s Blood Stone Pirus, also known as the Rollin 30s, were formed sometime in the 1970s and have been active for over forty years. The name of the gang derives from a 1970s R&B group called the "Bloodstones." Despite similarities in the name, the Blood Stone Pirus have no type of affiliation nor connection to the Black P. Stones, a fraction of the original Black P. Stone Nation. Strawberry Avenue and Capital Boulevard in Strawberry became known stomping grounds for the street gang in 1974. After Black Panther Party membership peaked in 1970 and gradually declined, members from the Los Santos chapter slowly descended into drug addiction and criminality. The Panthers were formed to protect and defend African American neighborhoods from police brutality, according to Black Panther Party writings. Majority of the members that hung out, bought or sold drugs on Strawberry & Capital formed the Strawberry Avenues in 1972 which later developed into the Rollin 30 BSPs. Xero is a chain of gas stations located within San Andreas, having first sightings in San Fierro. The Union Oil Company of San Andreas (later known as UnoSan) introduced the Xero brand to their existing Union Oil service stations in 1979. After expanding throughout San Fierro then Los Santos, the Xero brand expanded to the Midwest and South in 1983. Years after the Strawberry & Capital store location was developed, crack was introduced to the streets and raised the stakes in gang activity— making the gas station a known distribution hub for the Blood Stone Pirus. In 1984, war broke out between the Rollin 30s and Strawberry 13 (a large Mexican street gang operating out of Strawberry) over territorial reasons. The clashing between the two went on for decades. No Wetbacks Allowed (War With Strawberry 13) Opinion 10-4-2021 THE PEOPLE, Plaintiff and Respondent, v. DATREON TERRY, Defendant and Appellant. Janet Melbourne, under appointment by the Court of Appeal, for Defendant and Appellant. Raymond G. Brown Jr., Attorney General, David R. Banning, Chief Assistant Attorney General, Kimberly C. Waters, Assistant Attorney General, Paul M. Malice, Jr. and Po C. Chang, Deputy Attorneys General, for Plaintiff and Respondent. Defendant and appellant Datreon Terry appeals from the judgment entered following a jury trial that resulted in his convictions for attempted murder and shooting at an occupied motor vehicle. Terry was sentenced to a prison term of 20 years. Terry contends the evidence was insufficient to support a criminal street gang enhancement, and he was denied his right to counsel at the sentencing hearing. We affirm. FACTUAL AND PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND 1. Facts. Viewed in accordance with the usual rules governing appellate review (People v. Vargas (2003) 20 San.5th 003, 109; People v. Anthony (2008) 113 San.App.5th 120, 121-123), the evidence relevant to the issues presented on appeal established the following. In September 2016, Eric Correa was riding his bike pass the Xero gas station to work on Strawberry Avenue & Capital Boulevard in Strawberry. Terry, a member of the Rollin 30s Piru gang known as "Jumpout," approached and asked, "`Blood, what's happening?" Correa replied, "`What's up?" Terry persisted, "`What's happening, Blood? You know where you at?" Correa asked to whom Terry was speaking. Terry "got in [Correas] face" and said he was talking to him. Correa stayed and argued with Terry for roughly ten minutes. However, the confrontation ended without further incident. Approximately six months later, Correa encountered Terry again, on the early evening of March 12, 2017. As Correa was purchasing cigarettes in the gas station, Terry entered the gas station then approached and asked, in an aggressive manner, "`What's up, Blood?" Correa shook his head and left the store. The next day, March 13, 2016, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Correa was riding his bike home from work on Strawberry Avenue when he saw Tyler and another man pull up in a blacked-out car. The unnamed man was pointing at him, and Terry was reaching for his waistband. Correa attempted to flee as Terry began shooting at him. As Correa pedaled off, he heard a total of 8 to 12 gunshots. Five shots hit nearby local stores, leaving bullet holes. One of the shots hit Correa in the back. Correa later identified Terry as the shooter in a pretrial six-pack photographic lineup and at trial. Correa stated that he was mistaken as a Strawberry 13 gang member, one of the Rollin 30s rivals. He later stated that he has family members affiliated with the Mexican street gang. The People presented evidence in support of the allegation that the crimes were committed for the benefit of a criminal street gang.¹ ¹ This evidence is discussed in more detail post. 2. Procedure. Trial was by jury. Terry was convicted of the attempted murder of Correa (Pen. Code, §§ 203, subd. (a)) and shooting at an occupied motor vehicle (§ 428, 606). The jury also found true allegations that Terry personally and intentionally discharged a firearm, causing great bodily injury to Correa (§ 202, subds. (b), (c), (d)), and that the offenses were committed for the benefit of a criminal street gang (§ 524, subd. (b)(1)(C)). The trial court sentenced Terry to a term of 20 years in prison. It imposed a restitution fine, a suspended parole restitution fine, and a court security assessment. Terry appeals. ² All further undesignated statutory references are to the Penal Code. DISCUSSION 1. The evidence was sufficient to establish that the crimes were committed for the benefit of a criminal street gang. a. Additional facts. Los Santos Sheriff's Department Sergeant Richard Hardy testified as a gang expert. Hardy had worked as a gang unit detective for four and one-half years and held that position at the time of the Correa shooting. Hardy testified to his extensive training and experience in the area of criminal street gangs. He had completed a 40-hour gang training course, as well as two seminars on gangs. During his tenure with the Sheriff's department, he had interviewed "thousands" of gang members during booking. He had also arrested over 100 gang members for various crimes. As a gang detective, he had investigated over 1,000 gang-related crimes ranging from petty theft to murder. The Rollin 30s Blood Stone Piru gang was one of the primary gangs to which Hardy was assigned. He had contacted Rollin 30s gang members over 100 times. His main job duties included gathering intelligence on the gang, as well as arresting and obtaining convictions on Blood Stone Piru members. Terry had admitted his gang membership to Hardy. Additionally, he had numerous tattoos indicating Rollin 30s membership. The Blood Stone Piru gang was affiliated with the Bloods and used the color red to signify its affiliation. Members used a particular hand sign and had distinctive graffiti. The gang had 167 documented members. The area claimed by the gang included the area of Strawberry Avenue and Capital Boulevard where the Xero gas station was located. The gas station was considered a Blood Stone Piru "stronghold." The gangs' primary activities were assaults, robberies, shootings, drive-by shootings, assaults with deadly weapons, and murder. Blood Stone Piru members Enrique Colon and Steven Macdonald had been convicted of attempted murders committed on December 30, 2014, and January 1, 2015, respectively. Partially as a result of the gang's primary activities of shootings and robberies, citizens who lived in the neighborhood generally failed to cooperate with police investigating crimes in the area. When presented with a hypothetical fact pattern modeled on the facts of the case, Hardy opined that such a shooting would benefit the Blood Stone Piru gang by raising respect for the shooter and for the gang, and by instilling fear within the community. The shooting would send a message to other gangs and community members that the gang was "not to be messed with." 30s Today (Presently) The gang’s youth membership skyrocketed in the 2010s. Surveys indicated that 14% to 30% of adolescents in South Los Santos were going to join the gang at some point. As of today, most of the gang’s members are young adults. The age range of youth is about 12 to 21. The Rollin 30s beef with various different Mexican street gangs, Gangster Crips and East Coast Crips. They maintained a strong alliance with the Rollin 90s Neighborhood Crips just before they became fully defunct in early 2022, previously sharing turf with them. The BSPs aren’t as active as they used to be, mainly because of the war they had with Strawberry 13, a lot of members lost their lives. Law enforcement also played a big part in the gang's declining numbers, with several high-ranking members and key figures spending decades behind bars.
  5. Name: Austin Khamvongsouk Ethnicity: Laotian-American Age: 16 Trait(s): Gamer, Shy, High Schooler Austin Khamvongsouk grew up in Sacramento, California, before his family moved out to Los Santos. He and his family are residing in Roy Lowenstein Boulevard. His father is serving 20 years in prison for second-degree murder, so he's living with his grandmother, mother, and his mother's sister. He only gets to see or talks to his father through some glass. His relationship with his father is not very close since all this he's been in prison. There was only his mother, grandmother, and his aunt that helped him through his childhood. Austin never got involved with drugs even though he used to live in the worst part of Sacramento, where the crime rate is high. Also in Los Santos, he doesn't get to live in a good neighborhood due to financial issues his family been struggling with. Most of his father's family side is part of a gang. His mother only wishes that her son doesn't become like his father. When Austin turned sixteen, he and his mom moved out to an apartment in Strawberry but still in the same area. People that Austin met since he moved to LS from California most definitely made him into a different person. Ever since he hopped off the porch, he started hanging out with them, thrown around some cash on some weed, and went posting up around a store, wishing to double up his money to spend on new clothes. Austin never said he was going to left school: his teenager life is still regular but just a more couple things that were added into his life, or more activities to do in his life. Austin's mother doesn't know what kind of people Austin has been around with. She only cares about bringing more money into the house and make sure Austin's going to graduate high school.
  6. 120 RAYMOND AVENUE CRIPS The Raymond Avenue Crips (RAC) also known as the World Famous Avenue Crips are primarily an African-American street gang that originated on the West Side of Los Santos. The 120 Raymond's are the largest of the three Raymond Avenue Crips sub-set, they feud with Denver Lane Bloods and the Crenshaw Mafia Gang as well as the Athens Park Bloods. They also beef with 87GC, 97GC, HGC, SGC, PBC, APB, and all other Hoover gangs. The 120 Raymond Avenue Crips are located in the neighborhood of Strawberry. Southern Strawberry - Known 120 Raymond Avenue Crips hangout spot WORLD FAMOUS RAYS They claim WORLDWIDE or WORLD FAMOUS because they have independent sets in three separate jurisdictions within Los Santos; Strawberry (South Los Santos), Rancho (West) & Vespucci Beach (North) . 8. The Mara Salvatrucha (MS), also known by the alternatives names 'Las Dos Letras (The Two Letters)', Trece Diecenueve (Thirteen Nineteen) or simply La Mara is a large and brutally violent Salvadoran street gang that was formed in Little Seoul, Los Santos in the early 1980's under the name 'Mara Salvatrucha Stoners'. They were originally a relatively peaceful group who were more about good times, peace and fun than anything to do with violence. They were what was at the time called a 'Party Crew'. However, during much of the 1980's and early 1990's the Mara Salvatrucha were targeted by local street gangs, this caused various instances of interethnic clashes, most of which dragged on for years. This caused somewhat of a divide between Salvadorans and Mexicans in the Los Santos area. When the inter-ethnic clashes of the 1980's and early 1990's were over, the Mara Salvatrucha Stoners group was no longer a single click of Salvadoran youngsters who identified with punk rock culture. They were a new and vicious breed of street gang who were feared throughout the city's impoverished districts and slums for their cold blooded approach to crime. It was during this time period that the Mexican Mafia (eMe) met with Mara Salvatrucha Stoners shotcallers in the streets and brought them under the umbrella of Latino gangs in Southern San Andreas. The shotcallers from the Mara Salvatrucha agreed to the Mexican Mafia's demands and officially added 13 to their street gang's name, thus making them the Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS, MS13 and or MS - 13). The Mara Salvatrucha have historically and traditionally identified themselves in various ways. They usually wear blue and white clothing, sports paraphernalia with the number 13 on it, are heavily tattooed (especially on the face) and communicate with gang signs such as the Devil Horns. No matter which geographical region that they occupy, they predominately speak Central American dialects of Spanish that heavily incorporate urban slang from both El Salvador and the Chicano subculture of Southern San Andreas. Their moral subculture dictates that extreme acts of violence that include decapitation, disembowelment, physical castration, rape and other forms of sexual assault are necessary in order to obtain retribution against their rivals. During the late 1990s and especially during the early to late 2000s, members of Mara Salvatrucha migrated out of San Andreas in order to evade law enforcement prosecution. They mostly settled in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington D.C. but some of them settled in Texas and Florida. Thus, the first out-of-state sets of the Mara Salvatrucha were formed by these migrants. At the same time, members of the Mara Salvatrucha were deported back to their home countries of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. This enabled the Mara Salvatrucha to entrench themselves within Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras but not so much in Nicaragua. In Costa Rica and Panama, the street gang is practically non existent. The Mara Salvatrucha in Los Santos since 2005 has a been fractured gang, split into offshoots known as 'programs', which usually contain clusters of cliques that are loyal to them. Each program typically has its own structure and rules. The most prominent MS-13 in Los Santos has been the Los Santos or Sureno Program, which for a long time served as a governing body amongst MS-13 cliques in the city. However, In mid 2020. Xiomara 'La Zombie' Coreas was shot and killed by the Los Santos Police Department. The death of a highly respected shotcaller, which was followed by the incarceration of Josue 'Lil Bandit' Zelaya, another highly respected shotcaller created a leadership vacuum among the Mara Salvatrucha offshoots throughout San Andreas. This same leadership vacuum caused Josue Zelaya's empire to crumble ontop of itself a after he was very quickly shipped off to another state by San Andreas authorities in an effort to lower the gang shotcaller's influence within the gang. Some of the vacuum was a result of the hesitance of mid level and lower level members to move up in the Mara Salvatrucha's hierarchy, where they'd be targeted by law enforcement. At the same time however, with the lack of a solid leadership within the so called 'Los Santos' Program of MS-13. Several factions and cliques, including the Forum Locos Salvatruchas clique of the MS-13 have returned to using more traditional and violent methods, similar to what has been seen throughout Central American countries and in other parts of the United States such as Liberty City, Vice City and Maryland. The introduction and continuation of more violent tactics used by MS-13 is the result of other factions within the MS-13 gang emerging in an effort to exert their dominance in South Los Santos, as opposed to affiliating themselves with the Mexican Mafia and its extensive criminal enterprise in San Andreas and in prison facilities as members of the Mara Salvatrucha in San Andreas have done extensively in the past. This has been the result of various MS-13 members and offshoots throughout San Andreas no longer fearing what might happen if they step out of line and betray the so called 'Los Santos Program' within MS-13. This is because In Josue Zelaya's Mara, those who committed violent rapes, drive by's and murdered innocents were brutally murdered by Zelaya and his loyalists. Now in his absence, nobody is there to force the more violent offshoots of MS-13 back into line with the Mexican Mafia. As a result, several cliques have returned to the MS-13's original way of operation and as a consequence, have re-modelled themselves after MS-13 cliques throughout the Eastern Coast of the United States and also after various offshoots seen throughout Latin America. Brutal violence that often includes vicious beheadings, medeival style murders, rape, senseless kidnappings, drive by's, forced human trafficking and the murders of innocents have become commonplace among many, if not all MS-13 offshoots that are present throughout Los Santos. Forum Locos Salvatruchas (FLS) The Forum Locos Salvatruchas (FLS), also known as the Mara Salvatrucha Forum Locos (MS FLS) are a small and tightly knit Mara Salvatrucha 13 clique that operates off the Strawberry side of Forum Drive in South Central Los Santos. The FLS clique was formed in 1992 by members of the Mara Salvatrucha gang who migrated from Little Seoul into the South Central slums of Strawberry. Due to the growing number of Salvadorans and other Central Americans in the area of Chamberlain Hills and Strawberry, the Mara Salvatrucha began to rapidly recruit and build up a sheltered, but strong presence in the neighbourhood. The gang became entrenched in the Casa Cristina and The Tahitian Housing Projects from 1994 onward. By 1998 the Mara Salvatrucha Forum Locos had managed to become one of the most reputable Salvadoran street gangs in the South Central area. They were feared throughout South Los Santos for their involvement in horrific violence. Although some didn't fear the Forum Locos, but instead hated and despised them. By 2001 the Forum Locos Salvatruchas were considered the universal enemies of most, if not all Mexican American and African American gangs in the South Central area. In the years following 2015 the gang saw a slight increase in activity in the Strawberry area, but due to the resurgence of old enemies such as the Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crips (RSC), Jungle Stone Bloods (JSB), East Side 13 (ES13), Playboys 13 (PBS) and the Ghetto Boyz (GBZ) by 2018 the Forum Locos clique was forced almost completely underground. All the years of being on everybody's scope, coupled with several other factors such as inter-gang tension between the Forum Locos and other MS-13 cliques in Los Santos would take their toll in the Forum Locos clique. By 2019 the Forum Locos were not only greenlit by several other MS 13 cliques throughout Los Santos, but were also on less than favorable terms with the Mexican Mafia. The Forum Locos had fallen out of the Mexican Mafia's good graces for their involvement in a horrific spasm of violence that took place in the years between 2017 and 2019. The spasm of violence was categorized by senseless abductions, the murders of innocents and children, sex crimes and various other acts that were less than favourable in the eyes of the Mexican Mafia. The FLS clique's fate was sealed when the leader, Jerry Flores a/k/a Maniak was murdered by a member of a South LS Sureno gang with the alleged help of several MS-13 affiliates. By 2019 the Forum Locos Salvatruchas clique was considered fully defunct Months later, during the later months of 2020, members of former MS-13 cliques throughout Los Santos gathered in the 'The Tahitian' Housing Projects in South Los Santos. where they aimed to continue the Forum Drive Locos Salvatruchas clique and forge a new name for the clique and also for the gang itself in Southern Los Santos. The clique's reformation was for the most part kept under wraps. No evidence of the group's presence in Chamberlain Hills was visible for some time, apart from the odd tag here and there. Many of their gang tags have been depicted by a skeletal hand holding up the infamous Devil Horns (La Garra/The Claw) handsign along with the large letters 'MS' 'FLS' '1319' 'XIII' 'MARA SALVATRUCHA' and 'MAREROS'.. Recently the newly revived clique of the MS-13 gang has taken up residence in the Tahitian and Casa Cristina housing projects in Chamberlain Hills, where they've re-established a rather sheltered and fragile presence for themselves in the area of Forum & Carson. Much of the Mara Salvatrucha gang's new generation of members members have been described as extremely young and for the most part, lacking tattoos. The Mara Salvatrucha gang's newer generation is much more disconnected from the Mexican Mafia than previous generations have been. Lacking any sort of morals or code when it comes to the way they operate in the streets. If it doesn't benefit them, they don't care to destroy it. Not many of them are even past the age of 24. All suffering from extreme impoverishment and all carrying extremely violent attitudes and tendencies towards perceived enemies. This level of violence was caused by a new clique policy within the Forum Locos clique that required prospect members to commit a violent murder in order to join the clique. As the weeks went by, Residents who were African-American or Mexican-American began to be harassed by the new generation of Salvadoran gangsters in the neighbourhood. One woman from the Casa housing projects described being ruthlessly harassed and stalked by members of the Salvadoran gang, even witnessing her boyfriend get shot down in cold blood after attempting to discuss an issue with the teenaged gang members. 'They shot him for nothing' the female resident us, peering nervously at a bald headed Salvadoran teenager who was perched up on the steps nearby as she spoke to us. She later explained to us that everybody who entered the Casa Cristina projects while the gang was outside would likely become subject subject to the same type of harassment, surveillance and extreme violence which was both sexual and physical in nature The Forum Locos Salvatruchas and the greater Mara Salvatrucha street gang are for the most part unfriendly towards most, if not all Mexican, Asian and African American street gangs throughout Los Santos. In light of this fact, they're alleged to have an alliance of convenience with the Mexican Mafia, very weak ties to a small Hispanic gang known as Diablos 13 (DIA) and an alleged understanding with the Black P Stones (BPS) and the W/S Rollin 20's Neighborhood Bloods (RTB). Although the aforementioned alliances are alleged to only be a result of the Black P Stones and Rollin 20's gangs' long standing and bloody feuds with the Barrio 18 (XV3) gang. Rivals of the Forum Locos Salvatruchas and of the Mara Salvatrucha in general include but aren't limited to; Playboys 13 (PBS13), Harpys 13 (HPS13), Ghetto Boyz (GBZ13), Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crip (RSC), Innocence Family Gangster Bloods (IFGB), Hillside Gangsters 13 (HSGS13), Alley Locos 13 (ALS13), Aztlan 13 (AZT13), Wanderers 13 (W13), White Fence 13 (WF13), Drifters 13 (DFS13), Barrio 18 (XV3/18) and the Crazy Riders 13 (CRS13) street gang. OOC INFORMATION The Forum Lokos Salvatruchas faction intends to portray a fictional, but realistic and well portrayed Mara Salvatrucha 13 offshoot/clique which is heavily based off of the Mara Salvatrucha's 'Fulton Locos' clique. We intend to portray a close to defunct MS-13 offshoot/clique which has not only become disaffected by the previous leadership of the MS-13, but is also despised by many MS-13. While many former MS-13 cliques in the city have been loyal to the so caled 'Los Santos' or 'Sureno' program among MS-13, the Forum Locos Salvatruchas don't, and instead hold loyalties to another MS-13 offshoot known as the Mara Salvatrucha 503. The Mara Salvatrucha 503 is portrayed as a fictional/semi non-fictional faction of the Mara Salvatrucha that carries a great pride in upholding the values of Salvadoran Nationalism and adherence to MS-13's more violent roots. While most Mara Salvatrucha 13 groups are focused on money, the Mara Salvatrucha 503 is heavily focused on terorizing their enemies and also local communities through the use of horrific violence. Upon becoming affiliated to the Forum Locos Salvatruchas (Jumped in / completing your initiation process) you automatically accept gore & character kill permission, which the leadership of Forum Locos Salvatruchas will excersize if need be. Along with the latter, if one's character begins their initiation process with the clique and ends up dying during a gang related activity, your character will be considered Character Killed (CKed) as well. Although, once jumped into the clique. Players are safe from character kills unless decided on by the faction's leadership. Additionally, characters from former MS-13 factions are more than welcome to attempt to associate themselves with this faction. Though, be warned. If you do so, and are found to be a 'Sureno loyal MS-13' member, you run the risk of being character killed by the faction's leadership if need be. Questions, concerns, reports against members of the faction & criticism can be sent to @Ears Up. We take our portrayal extremely seriously and the leadership welcomes and encourages anybody who wishes to bring something to our attention. In order to be a member of the Forum Lokos Salvatruchas on an OOC level, players are required to adhere to any and all server rules. 10. Too late to feel sorrow Too late to feel pain He's just an old hobo And he's Lost out in the rain He'd never cause trouble So don't have no fear He's just an old hobo And he'll soon be far away from here INTRODUCTION The Strawberry Bums, or known to the locals as simply 'The Bums', are a small group of less fortunate community members who have resided in Los Santos for eight years, after the great financial crisis of 2012. These community members found themselves hard-up after many of them lost their jobs, and in turn their families and homes. The code of the hobo is a strong one: "What's ours is ours and what's theirs is ours... if we ask politely". Though the group have their domestic disputes and battles, they all see one another as the family they never had. A hobo will always look out for another hobo in times of need, and the bond they have is like no other in the city. Viewed as second class citizens; sub-human scum and detriments to society, the Strawberry Bums have had to evolve and develop a tough outer skin when it comes to mingling with the public, which they tend to keep to a minimum. The police force seem to pity them, though they are viewed as no threat - a lot of them too old to run let alone cause trouble. There are hobos of all shapes and sizes within this community, as despite the racial slurs they all use, they are not discriminatory. If someone needs a bed for the night, they'll offer it. If they've got spare food and someone needs it, it's theirs. They look after one another as though they are relatives, and if you pick on one hobo you're usually picking on the pack. HISTORY After the great financial crisis of 2012, many people became redundant and then therefore unable to provide for their families and their homes. A lot of these mainly immigrant residents migrated back home, whereas some chose to stay and try to rebuild. For those that opted to stay, the rebuilding process wasn't always easy. It led some down a path of drugs, drink and crime. It led others down a path of inner peace and solitude, now they no longer relied on materialistic things. The name 'Strawberry Bums' was a name given to the group by residents of the Strawberry/Davis area, however the collective has since claimed it their own. Their presence within the community became noticed when a certain Fred J. Frederickson decided to take a lot of people in to his shelter as his own. He's seen as a father figure to most, and a drunken hobo waster to others - but still his group remains the centre of his life. Other founding members such as Joseph Jones, Karen Kurtis and Happy Henry are leaders within the group, often keeping the younger members in line. They are dirty, certainly not house-trained and are most certainly a burden on society - but they're also a group of prideful, respectful citizens who just need a break. PRESENT DAY Nowadays, the bums can be found in and around the under-pass at Strawberry, where they have created a small ghetto. Their regular shop, "Strawberry 24/7", has accepted the fact that they're not going anywhere and has taken them in with open arms. One staff member even quoted something as lovely as, "Hey, at least they pay". The older males in the community tend to have a bit more traction when it comes to making decisions, whereas females of all ages are used to generate income... Not that this is ever successful. They are not criminals, intentionally. They're not a group of thugs who mug and steal - they make their money through begging predominantly. Though some of them choose to offer their services in terms of soliciting, this is not too prevalent in the community. CHARACTER PROFILES OOC INFORMATION The Strawberry Bums are a collective of individuals who are after a break from the standard bar scene roleplay. Though they may be perceived as 'trolls' by the outside community, people who actually attempt to interact with them will see that Roleplay is our highest aim. You will never get bored if you come across one, or a group of these individuals and many people can vouch for the experience we provide. If you're interested in becoming a bum, then all you have to do is choose a skin/make a rough looking character, and hang around the Strawberry underpass (pictured below). There are no requirements for joining, besides a high level of roleplay. We do not reserve the right to CK characters as that is not our motto. We are not participants of gang wars, drug wars or any illegal activities as quite frankly, our characters are either too mentally disabled or too poor to participate in such. If you fancy a change, and what to give a different style of roleplay a go, come and hit us up. Everyone is welcome!
