  1. 你的脉搏是多少? 60 至 100 BPM 是正常的 This thread chronicles the adventures and misadventures of Rockford Station's Task Force 52, the brave men and women of the Los Santos Fire Department tasked with the courageous mission of driving two fire engines, a ladder truck and a rescue ambulance all across the city to hand you a refusal form for medical transport for that cut on your forehead. These are their stories as well as yours, from the Firehouse to the streets. Task Force 52 is a group of Firefighters within the Los Santos Fire Department faction that want to offer a deeper dive into the daily life of Rockford's Fire Station 52, and more generally on the more mundane aspects of life working for a Fire-EMS service in a large American city, as well as their personal experiences in high risk environments. We've chosen to make our own thread separate from the LSFD Faction Thread to better capture these ideas, but our characters still represent the LSFD official faction.
  2. This thread will follow the story of 23 year old Luca Anderson, youngest of four and a firefighter with the Los Santos Fire Department. Disclaimer: This thread will showcase potentially triggering content including, descriptions of traumatic and at times, fatal injuries, mental health - including suicide and self harm and other themes. 3. LSFD Responds Swiftly to Plaice Place Structure Fire 04/FEB/2024 In a recent statement released by the LSFD Community Liaison Office, details have emerged regarding the swift and coordinated response to the Plaice Place Structure Fire that occurred on the 2nd of February. The emergency call, received by the Los Santos Fire Department at 9-1-1, triggered the immediate dispatch of crucial units. At approximately 18:22, the scene saw the arrival of Truck 52, Engine 52, EMS-1, and CLO-4. Engine 52's Captain assumed incident command, conducting a quick assessment of the situation. Unfortunately, the structure was already fully engulfed in flames, prompting the decision to adopt defensive strategies due to the unsafe conditions for entry One of the key challenges faced by the firefighters was the discovery of power transformers ablaze, necessitating a call to Public Works to shut off power in the surrounding area. A pervasive gasoline odor further heightened the danger at the scene. During the incident, the nearby IMEX Logistics, a prominent trucking company, experienced a power outage that lasted for over three hours due to the necessary shut-off. The impact on their operations and the broader community was felt as their services temporarily came to a halt. Engine 52, now operating in defensive mode, initiated a powerful attack, deploying four lines to suppress the inferno. However, the situation took a perilous turn when a section of the structure collapsed during the operation. Despite the challenges, the Incident Commander declared knockdown around 18:47, marking a successful containment of the fire within 30 minutes of the firefighters' arrival. Miraculously, no injuries were reported during the incident. After extinguishing the blaze, the LSFD swiftly transitioned to overhaul procedures, completing the process by 18:54. The scene was then handed over to Public Works and SANFIRE for a thorough investigation. The units dispatched, including Engine 52, Truck 52, EMS-1, and CLO-4, showcased exemplary teamwork in collaboration with agencies such as LSFD, LSSD, and SANFIRE. Community Liaison Officer Sage Fowler, representing the Los Santos Fire Department, expressed gratitude for the dedication and expertise displayed by the emergency responders and emphasized their commitment to preserving the safety and well-being of the Los Santos community. As the investigation unfolds, the Los Santos Fire Department reassures residents that their ongoing efforts will shed light on the cause of the fire, contributing to the enhancement of preventive measures and overall community safety. Additionally, they extend their understanding to IMEX Logistics and other affected entities, acknowledging the temporary inconveniences caused by the necessary power shutdown during the firefighting efforts.
  4. "LSSD & LSFD Respond To Hit and Run, One In Custody Written by Scarlett Remington, 09/06/2023 (Pictured: Scene on Vespucci Boulevard, across from The Blue Lion) (( Plates blurred.)) On September 6th, at roughly 12:20am a unidentified vehicle occupied by two individuals was speeding down Vespucci Boulevard, when they managed to hit a stray civilian head on. The victim, Jacoby Aarons - aged 25, who just moved to Los Santos, was casually stepping off his motorcycle with intent to walk across the street to get a late night drink at the local bar, The Blue Lion, before his night turned for the worst. (Pictured: Aftermath in the Hit and Run of a victim, LSFD hard at work) (( These two pictures would have blurred portions: hiding any gore-like injuries. Blood would be visible. Plates blurred.)) The moment he stepped off his bike to cross the street, he was struck by the oncoming vehicle showing disregard for the mass amount of patrons in the area. "Well, I had just hopped off my motorcycle and was about to cross the street to the bar.. - Then out of no where I see a black compact car to my left; before I could react, I woke up here [Pillbox]" says Aarons from his hospital bed. Prior to arriving on the scene, the LSI was catching up to the area when our attention was caught by a Los Santos Sheriff's Department Deputy, who was seen utilizing his door to take down a fleeing suspect, unknown to be related to the scene near The Blue Lion at the time. Once near the scene, a Sergeant with the LSSD commented "So - just so you get the gist of this? Guy ran over a civilian, left the car on foot, and we got him here. Just behind us, the opposite sidewalk to the Blue Lion. On Vespucci basically, [he] tried running back towards the car (his friend was driving now), but I intercepted it and he wasn't able to get in the car." (Pictured: Suspect that fled the Hit and Run, apprehended by the hard working & quick reacting LSSD) Taking some feedback from some of the spectators who witnessed the gruesome hit and run, "He started walking and /boom/, he got smoked..", "I didn't see nothing but the sound was horrendous...", "He hit the guy, got out of the car, and started running. Lost sight of him when he went around the block." In response to telling Mr. Aarons that one of the suspects was taken into custody, "My legs are killing me, my ribs feel like they're in a million pieces, my face feels like a balloon. Sounds like something will happen to him at least." Expected to make a full recovery, the new resident of Los Santos got a taste of the life here, in the worst way possible.
  5. Statement on Paleto Bay Pier Boat Collision 2nd of July, 2023 LSFD Public Service Officer Olivia Warren ROCKFORD HILLS - This is an official statement issued by the Los Santos Fire Department's Community Liaison Office in response to the Paleto Bay Pier Boat Collision which occurred on the 1st of July. Statement Begins On the 1st of July 2023, at approximately 20:00 a distress signal was received by Los Santos County Lifeguards on the Vessel Traffic Service radio channel by a fishing ship. Lifeguard Tower One made contact with the vessel and received information that the vessel possibly crashed into a pier, just at the end of Procopio Promenade, and that it was stuck. Los Santos County Lifeguards' Baywatch Command dispatched Swiftwater Rescue 10 and Rapid Response Dinghy 12, and Fireboat 1 to investigate the scene while LSFD's Paleto Bay Station 1 dispatched Engine 1 for additional support and manpower. 6. LSFD Urban Search & Rescue Assemble To Recover Local Man Written by Kate Park, April 3 2023 Published by Scarlett Remington, April 3 2023 Above: Ladder-7 with USAR operatives in conversation. On the 2nd of April 2023, at around 23:48, responders from the San Andreas Fire Marshall service requested mutual aide from Los Santos Fire Department pertaining to a unresponsive persons being located in the sewers situated in El Burro Heights area. Crews from the nearby Station 7 quickly assembled to the area to assess, and evaluate the situation however deemed it difficult to reach the individual via maritime methods safely prompting Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) to be activated. Above: State Fire Marshals overlook the rescue attempt. The search and rescue team (USAR-3) comprised of highly trained personal from Station 3 later arrived on-scene and commenced operations on the recovery of the individual. Working with an aerial ladder platform, with the use of a rope-pulling method an operator descending from the bridge toward the individual. Tragically despite the rapid mobilization of assets the individual was pronounced deceased by medics shifting the focus to a retrieval operation. The individual was hoisted some time later where official recognition of life extinct was confirmed. Above: A USAR Operator retrieves the unresponsive male, hoisting him from the ground. At this time the investigation as been passed to the Office of Fire Marshals, and the County Coroner has been informed. Together agencies will be working closely to identify the individual, informing next of kin, and resolving the tragic circumstances that revolve around the incident. There has been no official statement from the San Andreas Fire Marshalls and the office involved. At this time information will take time to gather, and likely follow over the next few days as facts are established. Despite the circumstances being unknown it is a sobering reminder around the dangers of rapid flowing water sites across the outskirts of the City. Our thoughts are with the victims friends, and family at this time.

Hobbies: Surfboarding, car and motorbike repairs, mountain biking, wild camping, and anything outdoors-wise. All the time I was being beaten, I thought, "I'm not going to be fourteen forever, I need to grow up." Rico Evans has had to survive more than most people would ever face in a lifetime. It would be easy to assume that he fell into a hard life. That would be wrong. As Rico tells it, he didn’t fall into violence; violence is where his life began. Rico recalls a time when he was about ten and his Mom had gone on yet another drunken rampage. This time, Rico’s mother held a knife, threatening him after he had found her in bed with another man whilst his father was away for work. “I was screaming at her to kill me. It wasn’t because I wanted to die - I just wanted it to stop. I loved her but I just wanted it all to end. Maybe if she killed me she would be locked away and my brother would be safe from her. Then all the violence and beatings would stop.” Rico’s father, Mathias Evans, was the youngest boy in a family of eight children, who were close in their own way. He was just nineteen when he enlisted in the armed forces, and his military records say he was motivated by a “sense of duty.” Mathias served just four years before being discharged based on medical grounds after shattering his ankle severely. During his time in the armed forces, Mathias travelled to the states and met his future wife Nadia, a Russian Nurse who had moved to America as a young girl with her Father. The two soon got married, with Nadia moving permanently to Norway to work on the family farm that had been passed down through the family whilst Mathias started up his own metalwork shop. Rico likes to joke that he was born “right beside my mother”. The point of this joke is that they didn’t really seem connected like Mother and child right from the start. If his mother hugged him and said she loved him on the day of his birth, it was perhaps the last time she did so. “My mother never in her life said ‘I love you’ to me. I was unexpected and seen as another mouth to feed that they couldn’t afford.” Rico grew up with a younger brother: Dexter who was two years younger, and despite their age difference were inseparable, with Rico practically bringing up his brother by himself due to his mother finding solace in a bottle instead whilst their Father worked. For Rico, his brother was the reason to keep going, often shielding him from the violence at home and doing what he could to try to give Dexter a normal life as much as possible. At age twelve, Rico discovered his brother had been running into difficulty at school with a group of kids who started lashing out at Dexter. Rico declared his personal war on bullies. “You’ve got to stop it before it starts. I’d stare at them knowing they’d eventually have to go, ‘What the fuck are you staring at?’ I’d go, ‘You.’ I’d know they were bullies just by watching them.” Soon Rico found himself in trouble after lashing out at a particular kid who he caught pushing his brother into some lockers, resulting in Rico being kicked out of the school and facing severe punishment from his Mother when he got home. After the beating, he was told he didn’t deserve an education and was to work on the family farm bringing in food, alongside his Father’s metal shop until late into the night to try to bring in some spare money. “You deal with what you’re dealt with in life. People who grow up like I grew up, you don’t realise there is any other option. It’s all if, if, if. It would have been nice to have a more loving family. I envy people - not to the point that I’m depressed- that are brought up with a loving family.” Rico’s father Mathias always sought the comradeship he had when in the armed forces, eventually meeting up with members of the local motorcycle club in their area, becoming a patched member and spending more time at their clubhouse than with his own family. Yet the moments he did spend with his sons, he took them to the clubhouse to meet his patched brothers, sharing stories with them and teaching them in his own words, how to be a man. Rico doted on his father, wanting to be just like him in every way including following him into the biker lifestyle. At age 13, Mathias started taking Rico to events run by the MC, getting him to serve alcohol to members attending and then clean up the mess left by the crew afterwards. Even though it was work, Rico loved being around the members, listening to their stories and thinking he was treated as part of the club. The bikers oozed an aura of freedom and power, and of rich lives that lived outside of society’s rules, which had done nothing to benefit the teenaged Rico. Something about seeing the bikers cruising past him seemed all-powerful as if they could tell death itself to fuck off, like old-time circus performers who could stick their heads into the mouths of lions and pull them out again, smiling, without a trace of fear. For a few years, Rico was not what someone would call happy with life, but he was content at the same time. Hanging out with his father and alternating between working at the bar or the blacksmith his father owned meant that he continued to spend less time at his home. Things appeared to be settled when suddenly his parents decided that in order to try to help Nadia get over her drinking problem, they would relocate to America so she could be in an environment she grew up in. At the age of sixteen Rico was again thrust into uncertainty, and eventually due to circumstances out of his control spent several years away from his family, learning to survive for himself throughout the worst period of his life which included losing his best friend to a stabbing incident that would continue to haunt Rico for years to come. Eventually, after seven long years of darkness, Rico managed to push himself away from the situation and start a fresh life in San Fierro, grieving for his father who he had recently lost whilst he was away. Rico managed to link back up with his brother, starting their own business in construction to get a source of income. During this time Rico met his first wife Hana who gave birth to his daughter Nari, making Rico realise that life was worth changing. Nari was Rico’s everything and he doted on her, but the marriage soon broke down and Rico was left waking up in the middle of the night to find his wife and daughter had vanished. It wouldn’t be until a few months later that Rico discovered both were alive but back in Korea where Hana was from, with divorce papers sent through his mailbox. Only a couple of years later would Rico get Nari back in his life and during that time in order to find a new sense of purpose Rico ended up adopting a young teenager who he found living on the streets fending for herself. In all senses, the teenager reminded Rico of himself, and from that day he swore she’d never find herself suffering again. Fast forward a few years to the current day and Rico has yet again shown that hard work and determination means you can end up pushing past your old trauma and get somewhere in life where you are continuously moving forward. In order to help get past his childhood, Rico got his last name changed in order to help with the healing process. Unfortunately despite the fresh start, Rico's marriage to his childhood sweetheart Xiomara broke down, with them being seperated for quite some time before the divorce went through, hidding it from their friends until it was finalised in order to protect their children. Now Rico is finding his own way in becoming happy again, learning to become the man he used to be. ((Some background story has been left out in order to prevent metagame)) This character thread covers Rico’s time from when he first moved to Los Santos and the highs and lows of attempting to be a normal civilian and working within the Los Santos Fire Department as a Lifeguard Section Chief and TEMS (tactical medics) instructor. Rico is, by all means, a flawed individual with a lot of baggage from his past, but the idea with the thread is also to show the good parts of the city and that civilians can by all means have a somewhat normal life.

  12. Ever since the "How to install mods on RAGEMP" guide by Killerbite was posted, I've been experimenting with the implementation of different types of mods for people to use with GTA World. I've been mainly focusing on replacing vehicle models with more desired vehicles made by other modders for the LSFD faction, and using my skills as a 2D artist to make custom textures for them. The LSFD Vehicle Pack that I'm currently working on will remain a WIP project, and I'm also working on WIP uniform mods for the LSFD as well. Today however, I'd like to share a siren mod I first made. Using sound files taken directly from Federal Signal's website, I have made this mod for a more immersive experience for those in the FD and PD factions. However I welcome and encourage everyone to download and use this mod! VIDEO DEMO DISCLAIMER - I usually upload the first .rpf file that contains the mod due to ease of installation, meaning the .rpf files have already been pre-patched/encrypted so you do not need to use ArchiveFix. - Check that you're not using a mod that this one replaces files with. If this is the case, use the Custom Installation method. - Make sure you've made a BACKUP of the .rpf file(s) you're going to be replacing! DOWNLOAD CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD HOW TO INSTALL First, make sure you have downloaded and extracted file above. You may also need OpenIV and ArchiveFix for the installation, which you can download from HERE. Easy Installation - Using OpenIV OR Windows Explorer, navigate to the following location within the GTA V directory (Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx). - Simply drag and drop the pre-patched/encrypted RESIDENT.rpf file from the "Easy Installation" folder inside the sfx folder to replace the old file with the new one and you're done. Custom Installation - Using OpenIV, navigate to the following location within the GTA V directory (Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\RESIDENT.rpf). - Right-click "vehicles.awc" and click "Export to openFormats (.oac)". - Create a new folder to export the files to and navigate to it after the files have done exporting. - There should be 1 file and 1 folder, "vehicles" and "vehicles.oac". - Open a new window and navigate to where you've extracted the mod. - From the "Custom Installation" folder drag and drop the .wav files into the "vehicles" folder you exported from OpenIV. It will ask you to replace the files, click "Yes". - Next drag and drop the "vehicles.oac" file back into OpenIV. This will import the new files in. - Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the following location within the GTA V directory (Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\). - In a new window, navigate to where you have ArchiveFix extracted. - Drag the RESIDENT.rpf file onto the ArchiveFix.exe file. A command prompt will open and patch/encrypt the RESIDENT.rpf file. Press any key when it's done. - That's it installed. I'd like to thank Firesky for the encryption method: https://forum.gta.world/en/index.php?/profile/792-firesky/
  13. In Memoriam: Fire Captain Lucas Morel - Los Santos Fire Department In the evening of the 27th; Captain Lucas Morel gave his life performing his duties in service to the greater community of San Andreas. Lucas Morel is remembered by his surviving compatriots within service of the LSFD, as well as an honored member of our community. Captain Morel was a shining example of self sacrifice throughout his tenure, a wonderful soul and a dear friend. Words can't express the grief shared by myself and those that knew him, San Andreas is all the lesser with his passing. Captain Morel will forever be remembered as he was; a humble, cheerful and dedicated individual who always strove to exemplify what it meant to be one of Los Santos' bravest. I pray that he'll be watching over all of us from the other side, and that he may rest in peace. All flags in the Capitol will be flown at half mast in his memory at behest of Secretary of State Noah Wade. Statement prepared and distributed by the office of Senator Scarlet Summers.

  15. Bernie McHoligan Jacknall Personnel File Full name: Bernie McHoligan Jacknall Place of Birth: Big Timber, Montana Current Residence: Palomino Avenue, Vespucci Beach Height: 5'11 Eye color: Green Hair Color: Dark Black Current Rank: Senior Fire Captain, Station Captain for Station three. Divisions: Urban Search and Rescue Command, Training and Recruitment General Background Montana is a land of natural resources, trees, salmon, freshwater, natural beauty, what it doesn't really have, are people. Big Timber is a prime example of 'small' town, barely a thousand or more people, for miles on end. Bernie ended up being born there, on the McHolihan-Jacknall Ranch, he was born into a large prime midwestern family, with three brothers and one sister, he was the runt of the ramble. The youngest of all five. Going into high-school ended being worse for the runt, between getting himself into trouble, antics, and pure ba-fuggery. This ended up tanking his High School career. After an incident involving a log, a cold river, an Alderman's son, and a bear, near ended up with two people going into a hospital, Bernie included. This led to his father giving him a note in his bedroom, not really forcing the issue face-to-face like any good nervous catholic, the note simply read 'Join the Military.' Montana has a long history of sending its sons to the Army, from the days of Abraham Lincoln to the Korean War. So Bernie joined the United States Coast Guard, a service primarily focused on waterborne operations, the biggest body of water in Montana is a lake. The Coast Guard found Bernie his true calling, being helpful. Not in the simple politeness most Midwestern's show, but truly being helpful. Saving lives, jumping into danger, and saving the folk who need saving. Six months into his first year of service, he entered into the Boatswain's mate rate program, becoming one of the many men and women who the Coast Guard deems fit enough to drive small-boats out to emergencies on America's coast. From there, he was assigned to San Fierro Small-Boat Station 17. Only leaving for a short deployment to Maine, and then he was back in San Fierro. The good times didn't last, and Bernie eventually left the service, deciding that two terms of active duty was enough service to be proud of. He reconnected with a friend from Montana in Los Santos, and had to adjust to civilian life from there on out. Two months of trouble led to his hands becoming too idle for his taste, he decided on leaning on what he was good at. He signed up to Volunteer for the Los Santos Fire Department. He's been there ever since. This thread follows his story, good and bad, in the Los Santos Fire Department.
  16. This thread will follow the life of Fire Captain II Jess Williams who is the current Commanding Officer of Air Operations. Jess originally came from a small farming village called "Camphill Village" in Minnesota. During her late teens, Jess had gone through a very traumatic experience of her boyfriend at the time physically abusing her, to the point when one night, he almost beat her to death. She was spared that gloomy fate, by two responding paramedics, and her ex-boyfriend still serves behind steel for attempted murder. She was a total wreck for a couple of years, continuing to work as a farmhand around her parents land, never going out to socialize and just saving her earnings with no real goals in mind. Once she slowly came around and gained more confidence in herself once again, she decided that she wants to move away from Minnesota and start a new life in a new environment - city life in Los Santos. A lot happened throughout Jess' time in Los Santos, she met a group of new friends who call themselves "The Losers Club", she bounced through multiple jobs, working for a group of Russian's, The Noodle Exchange in Vespucci, Vespucci Bookstore. Jess can be rather clumsy the odd time, and to her detriment, she one afternoon fell off her apartments balcony on Goma Street and busted her thick head, to which a very large EMT responded to her distress after a local pedestrian called for aid, the EMT stated to Jess "You would look good in a firefighters helmet", this stuck with Jess for a couple of weeks, then over a month, it started to dawn on her that she was very interested in becoming a firefighter, and more prominently, a paramedic, her life was spared that horrific night by the two paramedics, Jess dreamed of becoming like them, and giving back to the world for her spared life. Jess gets accepted into the Los Santos Fire Department and now thrives as a station captain of fire station 3 in Davis, she studied hard to become the best firefighter that she can, though not all is sunshine and rainbows. She has seen some extremely gnarly things during her years, seeing someone gushing out blood is a daily occurrence for her. After all of her years of service, Jess reaches the rank of Fire Captain II, a Senior Captain role in the department and now continues to strive to make the department a better place for not only her colleagues, but for the citizens of Los Santos the same.

  19. LOS SANTOS FIRE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE - What is USAR? WHAT IS USAR?⠀⠀Written by: Elise ReynaPublished: 22/12/2020The USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) has the primary mission and objective, as the name suggests, to enable the Los Santos Fire Department with the ability to carry out Search and Rescue Missions. Whilst it may seem really bare-bones in and by itself, USAR actually has much more other areas that are carried out on a day-to-day basis, this article will go in-depth in all of those areas to explain the real mission statement of the USAR.Urban Search and Rescue is a sub-divisional team within the Los Santos Fire Department which Firefighters are able to volunteer for, firefighters that do wish to join are required to have a couple of pre-defined certifications and are required to go through a hefty application stage, entry test and an induction process, this assists the Los Santos Fire Department in choosing only the most qualified candidates for the position of USAR. Furthermore, USAR utilizes specific fleet vehicles which for the purpose of this article will be separated into each different team so it is easier to explain;Rescue Engine (RE-3) - This unit is responsible for responding to any structure fire and is the front-line for doing primary searches by going directly inside of burning buildings and searching for any survivors, were they to find any survivors it becomes their primary objective to get those survivors out of the burning buildings in as safe of a manner as possible. Any type of structure fire would most likely fill up the building with dark smoke, so the visibility for for firefighters would be close to none, firefighters mainly rely on walls for their navigation as well as verbal communication/callouts from people.Search and Rescue (K9-3) - This unit is responsible for responding to any calls in which a person's location isn't specifically pinpointed to a small enough area for a regular response. Calls that require response from this division usually require search teams over a large area to pinpoint the exact location of an incident, this is usually around forests, mountains or coastal lines. The division is responsible for establishing multiple search teams to cover as much ground as possible and even has the authorized use of a helicopter. This team also utilizes specially trained K9 Rescue Medical Dogs which will track down the location of someone who may have found themselves lost or have issues designating their location when contacting Emergency Services. The fire department's K9 dogs are specially trained to locate specific items, humans and human remains (bodies). These dogs also have some very basic skill of treatment against anxiety attacks as well as panic attacks.Hazardous Material Response (Squad-3) - This unit is responsible for, as the name would suggest, responding to calls which would include hazardous chemicals (including and not limited to; explosives, gases, flammable liquids, flammable solids, oxidizing substances, toxic/infectious substances, radioactive material, corrosives). Alongside Support Services, they also assist with the cleanup process of any hazardous materials and leaks.Swift Water Response (SWR-3) - This unit is responsible for any emergency calls that come from or near bodies of water. This includes and is not limited to; Oceans, Rivers or Lakes. This division primarily focuses on rescue, however, it does also have an included Search element, in cases where the people are unable to be located and are described to be on or in water, Water Rescue is the division who locates these people alongside the assistance of other divisions and agencies. Water Rescue also has an element that focuses on recovery, this is not necessarily limited to /only/ body recovery, most of the time, Water Rescue is responsible for searching larger bodies of water for items and attempting to locate evidence for the police or just a victim who may have lost their wallet.Technical Rescue (USAR-3) - This unit is responsible for any technical calls that come in to the Fire Department, technical calls can range from a regular cat being stuck in tree to a call of people stuck in an elevator. Essentially, Technical Rescue is, as the name suggests, a team that specializes in calls that require some type of technical intervention. This team also ensures safety on electrical hazard scene and usually handles such calls by ensuring that a hazard is turned off so it is no longer hazardous.Logistical Support (UT-3) - This unit is responsible for any calls that requires Logistical Support (equipment hauling or personnel hauling). This team is also just utilized for transportation of equipment or personnel between stations.Opinion & A deep dive into USAR calls:I have spent 2 full weeks within the Urban Search and Rescue Team, responding to calls with them, interviewing them and getting a general outlook alongside them in their work. The first thing, within my own personal opinion that I can say is that I believe the USAR team is basically a SWAT department within the LSFD. These guys are the elite of the elite, the most professional people I've ever worked with and the calls that I've seen whilst working alongside them and everything they did was bloody amazing. Here's a some of the calls they responded to during my time within the USAR team;Mountain RescueHosue FireMotor Vehicle Accident w/ EntrapmentSwift Water Rescue DrillConclusionOverall, for me, it was an eye-opening and learning experience being within the USAR Team. I've learned a lot during my time with them and hopefully, you, the reader have as well!
