  1. I use this map when I need to find my way to a new district. https://www.igta5.com/images/gtav-map-neighborhoods.jpg
  2. Actually, my character was there. She, in fact, left the scene in your character's car after the shooting. He pulled out and honked at her and said something like "Come on Gringa! We're leaving!" She hesitated then ran out and got into his car. For the majority of the events she was beside the pillars by the bank and when shots were fired she immediately ducked behind them out of fear of catching a stray round. He even told her when they got back to the Bloque that he did what he had to do and seemed concerned about her reaction to what she'd seen. I strongly remember that because it factored into my RP of her making excuses for his actions over the next few days. "Oh, he's not really that bad, he does it because he has to." was something she often mentally told herself. I remember more civilians being there but it was also a super chaotic RP once things got going and ICly, my character was sure it was going to escalate into a riot or maybe a shooting at any moment, that's why she stood by the pillars. So I may have confused other gang members with civilians in that scenario. I wasn't privy to the follow up OOC discussions of course and didn't know that it had been discussed and it was decided there wasn't enough evidence to move forward. Anyway, the entire point of my mentioning it was as an example of how these kinds of actions don't have consequences. If this specific instance didn't have consequences because of followup OOC discussions then it is clearly a bad example, my apologies.
  3. The issue wasn't the RP in the moment. It was a very tense situation and it was obvious that if something didn't change it was going to escalate to violence. It's the type of thing you see in both real life newscasts and on movies and tv and the RP fit that type of situation. I mentioned it because there were no consequences afterwards other than maybe a few hours of jail time. It doesn't explicitly fit the thread topic as the cop was only PKed (I think) but it is illustrative of why this suggestion came up, because there is a lack of consequences for this type of RP right now.
  4. Prison roleplay could be interesting and add an all-new facet to the game. But right now, there is a serious imbalance and it is causing issues with immersion. Let me give you an example: Around 15 people saw some faction members gun down a police officer. In broad daylight. They then carved their gang number into his neck. 15 witnesses. Body cams. Broad daylight. There was a bank nearby which means security camera footage was probably available. And those who did it are still out and about. Now, for the cop it was only a /pk as far as I know but still how is this immersive? How is this heavy roleplay? Sure, an argument could be made that many of the witnesses didn't come forward, but there is still the police car dash cam, the officer's bodycam, the security cameras from the bank, etc. The larger point is right now illegal factions have zero fear of the police or consequences of their actions. They know that at most they'll have to play an alt for 2-3 days even for very serious crimes. You mention telling people to deal with something IC and that's exactly what is being proposed here. That police have the In Character power to enforce real, true consequences for IC murders (and I'd say for other very serious crimes personally.) Your stance here doesn't fit your own words honestly.
  5. The first part of this reply was uncalled for and reflects poorly on you as an admin. The second part is simply you restating your prior position but you, yourself, note it can be done IC through government action. I find it curious that the Admin in charge of illegal factions is making it very clear she will fight against consequences for IC murders for said factions. Most curious indeed.
  6. Your post here comes across as quite dismissive of the constructive feedback given by players in this thread. Is there a reason you seem very hostile to what is being presented here? Smilesville's suggestion is very reasonable and really would go a long way towards balancing the factions and presenting the type of deep, immersive RP the server strives for. Right now, things are, bluntly, not very realistic in some situations. Namely, law enforcement is denied the opportunity to have real teeth to truly enforce the law so criminals literally get away with murder. How is this in any way contributing towards the heavy RP this server is known for?
  7. I agree with other posters here. Right now gangs are running rampant on the server because law enforcement has very little power to actually control them. Some gangs are shooting cops almost daily and pretty much nothing happens. If we're a heavy RP server that really needs to apply to all factions and scenarios or it starts to break down the immersion for all involved. Take my character. She is wanted by a gang and it may or may not be a CK. If they kill her the most that will happen legally is a few hours in jail. This is in spite of the police being very, very aware of the threats on her life. This isn't the fault of the police. This is server rules that do not adequately portray consequences for criminal activities.
  8. Username: R3dAn0n Comment: How is this a picture of 7 men but I hear there is less than 5 inches total between all of them?
  9. Username: R3dAn0n Comment: If he was a friend of DP he was a murdering Nazi. And now Datawars has exposed its anti-American slant!
  10. This all looks great. Speaking as a techie person my only worry about those unique items is potential database bloat and other complications. Star Wars Galaxies had a system like this for crafting and it caused them problems back in the day.
  11. As someone who has RPed in survival games (mostly Conan Exiles) I can tell you that most admins turn such settings way down in games that require them. If you don't then you end up having to run off in the middle of RP to eat/drink to keep your character from dying. While I get why there is a desire for this the unintended consequences can be quite annoying. Again, speaking from experience. People usually don't treat it as part of RP, they just treat it as an annoying thing that interrupts RP. The potential upside that survival games don't have is it could result in people running restaurants and coffee shops and such. Especially if the admins were evil and made alcohol not refill thirst. Still, I'm not really in favor of it simply because I've seen its impact on RP before.
  12. I have the samw question! If it's available in the plastic surgeon that'll be awesome. Edit: I see it is at the plastic surgery clinic. I may be tweaking Wendy again!
  13. I was an admin for a server on Conan Exiles and we accidentally killed our server through some bad decisions. One of the lessons I learned is when population is low, you have a choice to make. We had put up an application system when our server hit max population but kept it even while our numbers dropped. The application for this server is long (and at times challenging). I think I wrote something like 10 paragraphs before I was done. And when I missed one part of a question I had to redo the whole thing because it doesn't seem like you can go back and edit it. I did it because the server looks very good and I wanted to do GTA V RP again but I think a lot of people would either quit part way through or if they had to redo it as I did just go "Eh, to hell with it, I'll go play something else." tl;dr: High population is the time to be concerned with high quality. Low population is when you have to make a hard decision about whether or not you need numbers more than you need high quality. No one wants to see poor spelling and grammar and sub-par RP but if the server numbers are this low I'd shorten the application to a question like "Did you read the rules?" Y/N "Give us an example of your RP (Two paragraphs should do it.)"
