  5. The entire weight system needs an overhaul. How can an adult only carry 5kg, but a million items as long as they're weightless? Vehicles need some love from developers in general, adding a few mod cars every year doesn't fool anyone. The set carry capacity is one of the things that makes 0 sense.
  6. That is indeed valuable information but also shows the inherent flaw in the system. Someone apparently had ignored so many second chances or committed such an egregious offense they got 'permabanned', yet only two months later they're back. That shows a level of leniency that proves a permaban on GTA:W means little to nothing. In my opinion (yeah, I know, just an opinion) a permaban should be permanent. An appealable ban though, should have a time before appeal duration of six or twelve months to have any sort of meaning. Edit, to clarify: Of course there's always exceptions that don't need to be set in stone, like people not responding to forum reports, those can be banned and dealt with in appeals.
  7. I think calling it indefinitely and then giving the term amount of months before they can appeal for the first time would be better. However, there should also be actual permanent bans obviously, without chance to appeal.
  8. Seeing the same people return in the reports section after seeing them get 'permanently' (gtaw seems to have an odd definition of permanent if you ask me) banned, means something is going wrong in the ban appeals section just as well. Just earlier I read a conclusion of a report on a player on their last warning: combat logging and got away with it. "Not bad enough to enact the final warning" ???????
  9. Hiding the ability for roleplay behind blips has been awful for a long time. For businesses this is never going to change, apparently (which is a crying shame). For events like this it should be reconsidered separately, in my opinion. So, yes, absolutely. Admins don't need to be asked for simple stuff like this, and abuse can be dealt with by faction leaders/staff.

  11. Shouldn't give a benefit either, but that's opening a can of worms and has been discussed many many times. Serious players understand it's not what we should want. Regardless, cigars shouldn't be an illegal commodity if they're not Cuban to begin with.
  12. So the problem is the bad RP'ers. What are they doing here? It's time for a push to get them gone and not let any new ones in.
  13. Apologies, I misjudged your ability for constructive discussion. Enjoy!
  14. No, don't let them on the server, that's what I meant. The LTD was fine in 2020, and the local gang hung around there all the time. I'm sure it wasn't perfect, nothing ever is. The server has a severe lack of rule enforcement. At least half of the players don't even bother making reports because there's already something like eight pages of them. My last one took around 6 months to be handled, so I understand that too. Seeing as there's now multiple LTD's being called trollish? Apparently the type of people that are allowed into the server (assuming these are new players) is not what we want, so the entry quiz is too easy and not a good filter. To stop them from coming in that needs to be improved, and live enforcement needs to be better. Less reactive and more proactive. Trolls need to be permanently banned. And not in the GTAW definition of permanent, but actually permanent. I know this is hardly about the suggestion, but I think this touches on the underlying problem.
  15. why did it take 4 pages for someone to realise it just needs to be run by a player and not be freely available? Is everyone losing their mind here? Obvious no, keep it, works well in that area of the map. - Deal with trolls appropriately (preferably don't let them in to begin with) - Make it player run - Move the supply delivery location if that's an issue for truckers, it's not that hard, businesses have a command to change their delivery coords.
  16. No, smoking doesn't give you any benefit, and certainly not a health one. If people don't see the RP opportunities you see? Shame, but that is what it is then, if you're unable to convince them of it.
  17. Do LEO and FD factions not get their licenses through Blaine? Because I don't see a reason as to why they wouldn't, apart from maybe an advanced course after the basic training that can either be done by Blaine or by the faction's own specialists.
  18. I mentioned the examples of warnings to what ended up happening eventually with COVID-19, I thought that much was clear. Guess it wasn't since you ended up comparing. And no, COVID in and of itself, is nothing special as a disease. Yes it caused an entirely new situation for all of us, but that's just it: it did, why say it didn't? No game is going to make reality go away. You're responding exactly as I expected at least someone would, and I will leave it at what I already posted since I'm not interested in discussing my opinion with someone that's not open to seeing the slippery slope that I already explained. Other than that it's your choice to assume things about me that couldn't be further from the truth, but that's up to you and doesn't bother me.
  19. It makes for a more realistic environment. I doubt it'd be used much, if at all, but it's part of daily life and reality. If we're going to stop this disease from existing, then why not remove all negative aspects from real life in our fictional world? I already mentioned cancer (and it goes for all diseases that cause death, there'll always be people who know someone). You can extend this to things like suicide, violence, bankruptcy. Hell, in fact, gangs are violent and definitely not something any sane person wants to exist in real life, same with organized crime. Yet we call those part of the game. Shall we remove those too? Car crashes kill people in real life, let's pretend they don't happen (I know, some already do), or remove cars, because they're responsible right? Guns don't kill people, people kill people? Remove people. Oh shit, where is everyone? It's pretty simple to see why this sets a bad precedent, and if you're blatantly trying to ignore that fact, then you're hallucinating. Sorry for the touch of sarcasm above but stop this hipocrisy, please. COVID sucks, yes, but it's nothing special in terms of illnesses. Yes, it caused a pandemic, but one that was long warned for by scientists, and we all got multiple precursors to as well, let's not be naive about that (see events below, if you don't remember them). We have annual epidemics of diseases we all know very well, those have never even been a talking point. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002–2004_SARS_outbreak https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_swine_flu_pandemic FYI: To address potential misinterpretation: No, I'm not calling COVID an innocent flu, it's not. And again, it absolutely sucks, for me it's about the principle we're dealing with here.
  20. Yes, let's cherry pick diseases that can affect our world. /s I have and never will understand this decision. People can roleplay cancer, rightly so, doesn't mean everyone is comfortable OOC. COVID-19 is a shitty disease, we can all agree on that. Does that invalidate it's existence? It shouldn't. Yes, players know people who died of it, which is very, very, very sad. But are we going to disallow guns because players know people who got shot? Or remove drugs because players know people who overdosed? Think not. The poll doesn't go far enough, it should just be an existing disease, since, well, it is one and it's not going anywhere anytime soon. The same thing goes with wars and political conflict and deaths of famous people. Can those events be painful OOC? Absolutely, they likely are for several people. Do we need to create a utopia for people to escape life? No, that leads to unhealthy immersion and players that cannot separate their characters from themselves. If a player isn't mentally capable of hearing the name of a disease, or a bad joke about a publc figure they have a real life attachment with and keep it IC? They need to take a break. Obviously common courtesy dictates you can mention it's making you uncomfortable in /b, and then the players around you are expected to take that into account, as far as their character allows. We can't sweep everything in the OOC world under the rug, or select things, it makes absolutely 0 sense for the somewhat realistic setting the server strives to be, or says it strives for, because these decisions point to the contrary.
