  1. These dudes just murked me in Tarkov
  2. LS doesn't need to be LA.
  3. Whilst there surely are people that write paragraphs of nonsense to inflate themselves, many of us love writing, and fleshing out our characters. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not a fan of adding anything which doesn't provide context/content/make a hearty attempt at immersing you in the scene. Anyone can write paragraphs of nonsense, but a good writer knows what they should, and shouldn't include within their emotes. There are many out there that can supply a steady stream of relevant, immersive writing - but it's a minority of a minority on GTAW as most get scared off to other communities. There are definitely other platforms that are much more friendly to para-rpers out there - and we've lost a good chunk of the genuinely good para-writers from GTAW to places like Conan in recent history, so you usually get stuck with the less affluent attempts that write of their 'eyes glistening in the light' or other details which have no relevancy/just amount to filler that wastes your time here. GTAW is a PVP-RP server at the end of the day, when ever you add items, possessions, guns, factions, and characters that take up months/years of your time - you'll end up with a lot of character bleed, stand-ins, and people out for themselves/items/standing rather than treating RP as a fun, social experience - but that's fine. Clearly there's a lot of people that prefer this style of 'competitive' RP - but I'm in the boat that it isn't all that fun to RP with characters that are less interesting than a Chat GPT prompt - and the 'working together' to tell a story aspect that cooperative RP appeals to me more - rather than the competitive nature that's been bred here. Not to say there's not a decent few RPers that can roleplay out an interesting character in the matter of a few lines - but you probably aren't one of them. It's just different wants, and needs that can't all be fulfilled by a single place.
  4. Oh okay. Sorry, misunderstood it a bit then which is why I reached out for clarify. I support this for sure then.
  5. Might be able to find an optimization mod, or two somewhere - but I feel like the only fix would be for you to upgrade. You're on pretty old hardware.
  6. To clarify, your suggestion is for this to replace new player checks?
  7. I can assure you that there isn't a single person on this server that would genuinely enjoy this job. You also hack into profits significantly by introducing something so labor intensive. If you want someone to baby sit a fleet all day, going through script miles and constantly inspecting everything, I'd imagine you'd have to pay them quite well considering this sounds more tedious, and boring than the majority of real life jobs out there. & It's only an IC issue if you force people into it. I suppose if you want Los Santos to be a place where it's common for your vehicle to have mechanical issues on a daily basis - then sure.
  8. Off the top of my head, a maximum miles counted toward the script per day - If the number you're aiming for is 700, then 50 miles per day so there's a minimum 2 week interval between mechanic visits - and/or a scripted immunity to issues for a specified amount of time to balance things. You can't balance this feature for people who rarely use their vehicles, and not account for those who have valid reasons for high milage on their vehicles.
  9. "Most". Again, refer to my reply above. It doesn't matter if most people don't - there are plenty that do, and it's a disservice, and unenjoyable to those people that your statement doesn't apply to. I have no issue with the suggestion itself - just the frequency. I think it'd be cool, as long as it didn't turn into an unbalanced hassle for those of us that regularly drive around. I don't think judging by milage is the way to go.
  10. I believe in instances like these we should balance for the weakest link/most affected demographic. It's entirely possible for any of the groups I've mentioned above to hit those milage limits in an unreasonable amount of time for maintenance to be required, and with the figures you've listed for yourself - the 2000 mile limit you've listed - you'd of had to of gotten your car maintained 3x this month. There are people on opposite ends of the spectrum, and balancing for those who rarely use their cars is not the way to do it, or else you serve to screw over the people that have valid reasons for high milage on their vehicles. Now, the question I have is.. why? What does this add? It doesn't really add any sort of realism, just a forced mechanic that you need to comply with. Who does it benefit? Mechanics perhaps? Whilst the rest of the server is forced to do something they won't get a single ounce of enjoyment out of. If people want to RP vehicle maintenance and such, they're perfectly capable of doing so without a script to hold their hand/force them to seek out a mechanic. The only way the 2000 miles seems reasonable to me is if there's a maximum amount of miles per day that can be counted toward the limit - aka the only first 100 miles per 24 hours are counted toward the script, and/or a 30 day protection from mechanical issues after your visit with a mechanic.
  11. Like you said, your vehicles bugged. Can't factor in bugs. I'm sure your milage would be much higher if that bug was fixed and you'd begin to see the issues with the implementation of the suggestion. There are plenty of professions which require frequent driving - police, ems, taxis, truckers, security companies, and more I can't think of off the top of my head. With this implementation we can assume that the average car goes 1 mile per minute as I'd imagine most cars are going 60MPH, 300 miles is 300 minutes of driving (five hours), which is nothing short of insane to have any sort of mechanical hiccup within that time span. 2000 miles is 33 hours, which also sounds a bit silly to me for those who it'd affect the most. These factions would have to get their cars serviced three times a week. Just leave things be. Unnecessary change that adds nothing but tedium to the game world.
  12. 300 miles in GTAW can easily be driven in the span of hours. Not a fan at all, that's just crazy. I think there's a line between fun, and realism and GTAW has already taken liberties that only serve to make the game more tedious, or annoying in some areas with no real benefit for anyone. I feel like a system like this would be one of those cases. I'd perhaps support every 5000 miles or more, if you want to get over the tedious aspect of things. Having to get your car repaired once a week isn't anywhere near realistic.

  17. wow really SLICK roleplay my dude
  18. Hey'a, a question - Do you have RAGEMP installed on the same drive as GTAV? & Is your install location somewhere requiring admin privileges? To me, it sounds like it may possibly be a admin-rights/lack of access to files. Best advice I could give that isn't in that thread is to uninstall RAGE, manually delete the GTAW server files, and reinstall into a different location. If there's any other information you can provide, lemme know. Also - try booting into singleplayer and see if that works?

    Snow!

Just my personal opinion, but I know quite a few of you also live in an area where it snows quite often. Snows totally cool for the first few days, and after that it becomes an annoyance of white fluff. I can get why people who haven't had a ton of experience with it may see it as cool, and interesting -- but I'd imagine the vast majority of people who see snow on a regular basis (like myself) think it looks pretty awful, and sucks the life out of everything it covers.
