Deborah Goga was born an Albania native, June 5th, 2000. She was sheltered, but not quite. There was a certain longing she felt, to learn of the world around her. She didn't feel that same egotistical pride in her country, her people, but she loved them all the same.
Before she was born, her family migrated to Albania. She was born in Tirana, the capital, at four in the morning. She was always told that on this day, her mother gave up her own life for that of her child.
She was an excellent girl. Her teachers never had a word of negativity to send back to her father.
She went through her years of schooling much faster than many. By the time she turned eighteen, she was done with college. She was on her way to being a doctor.
But here she is. At 18, she lost her scholarships, her pride, her will to live. She doesn't know why she is still here.
