  1. Seems this thread got pretty far, curious for staff input.
  2. I'm happy to see everyone's honest inputs on this, I feel like a raw conversation is needed here. I do also hope management/staff gets an eye through some of these to gauge what the community is asking for and feeling. I'm gathering the following in terms of the negatives-... - People don't want to feel like everything is micromanaged by an admin team, leave space for creativity. - The admin team should promote/support those trying to create new roleplay, not push them down. - That a sense of creativity is needed and an events team/continuity team would help contribute to creating more roleplay, that it would be nice to have a centralized spot/area that could attract people to roleplay in (perhaps the introduction of a restricted crime zone? - maybe this was the goal of the mall?) - People resort to reports too quickly, the community seems at times toxic or to focused on "winning." What solutions would everyone like to see? What suggestions?
  3. This is an interesting concept, I tried to share a similar approach to income, and explaining how we could plug debt to income to make things have a realistic portrayal to make affordability something easier to gauge-... and was told... Here's how I was expressing debt to income; based on the weekly wages but we'd look at them as if they were yearly... Nonetheless, truthfully some of the script pay doesn't match up with some of the actual pay; take for example C-suite employees or Surgeons...
  4. Personally, I didn't quite realize this is what it really was.... This is what it really is... Coming from that point to this. It suddenly clicked.
  5. I appreciate and like that you took the time to type this out, though the truth is with problem one; a lot of people believe they're going to be either backstabbed because it's happened far too many times.... People will take a joke as something that isn't a joke, or will turn something you said in confidence out against you... Unfortunately people are really out here looking out for their own interests before that of someone else. Not always the case but it seems to happen quite often. So trusting becomes difficult.... There surely are a LOT of opportunities that could be created, just need to have the right mindset to approach them. I get where you're coming from 100%, but glad to see that you've stuck around.... I haven't been roleplaying as long myself; but I do agree with you... specially with the "end of the day we’re here to have fun, I could do with a little less drama. "
  6. My characters story is long, but I had the opportunity to be involved in Gabriel Stones arc, where my character adopted him.. And seeing Gabe go from being homeless and being used by the chosen one, to struggle with his influence and slowly pull away, and sometimes fall back to him, and find his way out through journalism and an adopted family, and see the character mature and grow but still fighting different demons has been great to watch. The overall development has been amazing. My characters story is quite long in it's own, só I won't dive into it here.
  7. Elsbeth, habeeb, bagshaw And samvel... Dudes the best security I've ever rped with and is absolutely hilarious. Leaves me at a point where I'm laughing so much I can't breathe. Honorable mention to Gabriel Stone as well... I've seen his character development and it's been unparalleled. From a criminal standpoint, Daniel "viejo"
  8. As a person who does some mapping... I think this works... Having a portfolio should be suffice? Having a thread is good in the sense thst it makes sure you don't steal someone else's work, but then again it's also a royal pain in the butt to be updating it and adding to it and what not... Specially when you have your own style that you don't want showcased for everyone else to copy.
  9. I would support this to be honest... would create some linearity and consistency. This here... people sometimes have a disconnect I feel like with where we're at....
  10. I know this is a thread that could and will likely go many ways, and so I want to start by setting the tone of the thread with some positive light.... I believe that as a server, this community has accomplished a lot. Between the player base, staff-support, staff, devs, management and everyone.... It's great to see how far the server has come and how much has been developed. This has been due to a variety of contributions from everyone, as each and every person on the server plays their own role in adding a grain of sand to the jar. There are a lot of great things, as there are many not so great things.... Which leaves the topic of room for improvement, but in this case I want to specifically talk about how we can improve as a community. So I want to ask, What is it that attracts you to the roleplay community? What is it specifically about GTA-W that you like, what keeps you on the server? Is it the script alone, is it that you can share with your friends, is it the ability to build something of your own (albeit virtually)-....? How would you say those aspects could be improved? This next part, I ask to please answer objectively, no need to bash or be 'toxic' as many call it.... I know this is a tough conversation to have, some are more sensitive to things than others, some people take certain things more seriously than others, and what may be a joke to you may not be to someone else... So we want to try and be respectful of everyone's opinions and what they say-... Let's keep in mind this is a game, a roleplay server, a community... so take everything said here with a grain of salt, try and judge the intention-... perhaps ask a question if you need clarification, as it's hard to decipher some of these things over text sometimes.... So with that I ask-... on the other hand, what is it that turns you off? What things do you feel make you want to just shut the game off? What is it that sometimes makes you want to quit? How could we improve as a community? This is meant to be an upbuilding discussion, and hopefully we can all be more objective in this in order to keep the thread alive and not shut down... As this has become a far more sensitive society to most inputs, we want to be respectful. Hopefully, get everyone to drop a bit of input, without being afraid of some sort of backlash for voicing their opinions... Additionally, I want to note that humility is one of the greatest traits one can have in my opinion. It takes a great deal of it to accept advice and constructive criticism, so I hope we can all keep an open mind during this discussion.
  11. Like, to make all things even... By the same logic of why armored truck robberies are put behind a request.... Doesn't mean it can't happen, means it should be done properly.
  12. If it's a planned robbery, you're getting admin permission anyways.... What's unrealistic is the /frequency/ at which it happens, I can probably state that the majority if not all the people saying that the area shouldn't be a restricted crime zone, do not actively reside/live in the area to understand what I'm saying... I have to be more careful moving in and out of my house in the hills than any other property.
  13. Exactly, during low population hours, when you can't actually find security, aka davis hours... You won't be able to get perms to go do a crime like this one. You literally proved the point as well there. The ic solution still has nothing to do with the overall unreal level of robberies and the way they're carried out.
