  1. I'm only talking in the context of speeding since but as things stand your correct, which is why i'd update the penal code to specifically call out at what speeds over a given limit will no longer be considered an infraction and instead considered RD or VE. It is after all up to the legislative branch to decide what constitutes either of these crimes.
  2. Didn't know that, then we're half way there. I just think rather than complain OOC about something, at least exhaust IC avenues of resolving such problems. If this is ICly perceived to be a big problem by government, let them make the crime far more punitive and have more IC consequences.
  3. In many states, a reckless driving charge can be applied to someone driving 15-20mph above the speed limit. Run something IC to have our penal code changed. Once that's done, also change the penal code IC, so that reckless driving charges also mean vehicles are confiscated and sold back to the state when caught speeding by such a large amount. It won't take too many reckless driving charges before people stop wanting to lose their vehicles. This can be resolved entirely IC.
  4. I've no idea how big of an issue this is. If this is becoming an out of control issue, then perhaps the idea has merit. If it's just a rarity and individual players returning to the scenes of crimes or returning to harass their victims again, then deal with the player rather than put in place a change that impacts the entire criminal community in a negative manner.
  5. Don't self-insert, don't mix, stay consistent to your character (even when you know the outcome will be bad for them). These are far better and more important RP qualities than a large worded backstory.
  6. Hi there! We have tried in the past to create a med school at ULSA, but recruiting physicians with the interest to setup and run the project was very difficult. If there are players willing to put in the time/effort to set such up, I'm more than happy to have a chat and work with you to help set either a small clinic, and/or med school, or even just manage our pharmacy. It just it requires a player(s) who are fairly active and has the knowledge to manage a project of this nature. As for residencies, with the multifaction script now working, we do have some players who do just this, so if you want to player who's got the best of two factions, then by all means, it's something ourselves and PHMC can probably help facilitate. Seminars - If you're playing a physician, and want to do something a little different than hands on medical RP, consider reaching out and asking to use one of our lecture halls to give a public seminar - we can maybe help out with security for your event and by making it public, you'll attract a more diverse group of people than just students! Overall, if we can help with medical RP, we're more than willing to ❤️
  7. Also while i'm at it - as we have a pharmacy, currently we're stuck making pills that weigh a lot (we can't make pills that weigh mg), Also the containers they go in, are also oversized. It's also a complete pain to create 10x pills then move them into a container so we can sell branded legal drugs for players. Having an easy script where we can say, create a box of 10 x 400mg ibuprofen rather than all the manual work would make the process a lot less laborious!
  8. Civilians seem fairly comfortable going to resturants and RPing meals out etc, without any 'stat' benefits from food/water. Moving healing benefits from food/water items to medical items you can buy from pharmacy's, like painkillers and the like, would make pharmacies more of a demand and I don't think you'd take away from resturants by doing such.
  9. @Sharvit Their are two main reasons that medical RP is currently not as good as it could be. 1) It is not very interactive and very boring for the patient - currently, if someone gets injured, they get to lie there and wait for medical treatment. Once the medical treatment starts, it's almost entirely non-interactive and consists of someone typing out very long scripts of texts describing medical interactions with little for them to do in response besides be 'texted at'. This isn't much fun for the patient. Somehow, this needs to be made more interactive with the patient so it's more fun for them too. Also when it comes to medical detail, most players there needs to be a better mix of 'fun' vs 'long length medical posts' - while detail can be nice, it's worth asking ourselves if using length long paragraphs of RP is really fun for the patient, and maybe consider toning it down a little? 2) Very little reason to take part in medical RP. Getting PK'd or injured, has very little consequence, meaning a player can opt to skip medical RP. Without a reason to do medical RP, then many players will take the option to skip. There needs to be some incentive for doing it - maybe if you don't, then there is some kind of lasting debuff or injury that lasts quite a while, encouraging a player to seek out medical treatment. 3) A third idea that isn't really incorporated right now is to add more types of medical RP - i'm not sure how you'd had a disease/sickness script/injuries that require medical treatment for your character to remove/resolve.
  10. Factions may not be your thing, but I'd consider active factions outside of LEOs who don't need you to be in uniform often. I can't speak for factions like Prestige, Pillbox, or Davis High (when it re-opens), or their active numbers, but I do know that ULSA sports ~25-35 players during primetime which makes finding people and friends to RP with very easy and their campus serves as a central point to meet new faces. They regularly hold faction-wide events for people to hang out, from Fraternity ragers, camping, beach hangouts, and of course classes whilst sporting many clubs and sports teams including Basketball, Football, Cheer, Boxing & Wrestling, which makes turning up and meeting people super easy. For those interested in more academic RP, work, or internships, they have an active faculty to RP around, have several businesses you can work in (Gym, Pharmacy, and a Diner), and have internship agreements with other factions like Lifeguards, Pillbox for students wanting to mix their RP across 2 factions. All of the above you can dip in and out of as you like and their only requirement is that you don't have violent felonies on your record & portray a character that is suitable for US College life - which means there are very few restrictions!
  11. Agree, stop the rain. This has less to do with LA weather, and more to do with the fact, that every time it rains, it's a tragic heavy storm that forces RP off the streets and into Dims. It makes world RP almost impossible, and this is at a time when it's already hard to find world RP.
  12. This should be entirely an IC decision and we should let our IC senate make IC decisions. SAGOV should be able to make decisions on laws that are ‘realistic’ in the USA today. This means things like weed, abortion rights, discrimination laws, and gun laws (all popular topics in the US today), should be on the table. by letting SAGOV work this way and reduce OOC veto’s to thing a which are unrealistic for the US, it gives them credibility and boosts people’s interest to get involved. When it comes to weed specifically, I don’t see any retraction from illegal RP - presumably, illegal RPers would be able to own a weed store, and just like some of the shady ones RL, would be able to sell far more than weed from behind the counter with the associated risks of being shut down if PD ever catch you.
  13. The problem isn't the players, it's the rules. If you have game rules that facilitate almost no-consequence violent crime, and constant PK's, why is anyone surprised that players play by these rules?
  14. PK's should be replaced with incapacitations that require medical assistance or an hour in NPC hospital, and CK's mean a complete wipe of assets. That way, not only does medical RP get a boost, but people won't be able to PK to avoid death. Deaths will become far less, and when deaths do happen, they'll be far more meaningful.
