Northern Pride

The best way to experience a roleplay server for me has always been factions. Without a faction you're basically playing by yourself and not really having a whole lot to do. The whole roleplay experience is slimmed down if you're not developing a character for a long time. Within a faction if you start your character out young you can develop and have your entire backstory be true events, and you're making friends and building bonds, playing with the same group of dudes for over a year you will make some real friendships. The friendships and deep character development and building lore for a faction etc are what makes it for me. You have so much more fun when you have some real friends playing with you and you're working on a project together.

I want to start this topic off by saying that I"m relatively new to this server. I role played for nine years on SA-MP. The most fun times for me was when I was portraying well thought out and deep characters with history to them. To portray characters within factions correctly there is usually source material and inspiration that people like to educate themselves on. This is why groups with a unique origin or a unique history are the most fun to roleplay. The most fun gangs to roleplay a part of (in my personal opinion) are gangs that have ties to other gangs and have immense history that can be researched. These include The mexican mafia, white prison gangs, and the Nuestra Familia, Nuestra Raza, aka the Northern Collective. I think the current problem with SOME (not all) factions is that they start up on day one with some bullshit history or backstory they typed up about the area of the map they are rping on, even though another completely different faction was just in that area 2 months prior. The best way is to build up history in game and then keep it alive for months-years. That is what makes factions successful and fun. Think about it, every time a significant event happens it should make an impact on the faction. I know of certain factions where what you did on a character in 2012 is something you might hear about on a new character in 2019. Anyways I got way off topic from the reason that I'm making this post. I have alot of knowledge on the NF, NR, and Nortenos. I think Blaine County is a great area with little server history that can be molded into a great area for that type of faction, especially considering the high ammount of sureno factions including the mexican mafia, but there has been no nortenos, or no nortenos done correctly anyway. I would like to know if people are interested in a Norteno faction. I know with the abscense of a prison the NF aspect will be watered down but I see it working, and I'd like to know if there is any interest in it before I get started on a project that I care about. What do people think about Norteno factions on the server? What are some thoughts you might have or even suggestions??
