  1. @colorlessrainbow Yes for me definitelly very fine, but the other wheel should stay as a complement of course, since you don't know straight ahead all the possible animations, however given supplying the empty search, you would see the entire animation list in the alphabetical order, to select from, it could eventually replace even the animation wheel, though there are the most popular animation so effectively rather not replacing fully but the search as you type being the major and the animation wheel a sort of supplement for fast typers, however for not that savvy players the wheel would probably still remain as a main use for the animations
  2. @colorlessrainbow sounds fine brodie , thanks for informing
  3. @Dom as you say, however I think using some swearing words and triggering an animation based on that, is not that absolutely different from another forum suggestion of having automatic gestures when speaking, which seems to be very welcomed, and which was a similar incentive for me. On other side I dare to say, one swears much less than he speaks, so there would be much less often rage/on-tilt animation than some speaking animation. To add to it, me personally use any kind of gesticulation very seldom in any speech. also majority of people I know, any just for the sake of those few who do it, the other thread of gesticulation upon speaking would spice up conversation in quite a good way I think.
  4. @Lisandra I wanted to imply that the OOC jail does not strongly imply exclusion of the OOC Jail, one can co-exist along each other. The existence of OOC jail solitary room, does not mean there can be not any IC jail yard or room separately, nobody except of admins would have access to the OCC jail, it could be some "sanctuary" in the sky high above. But it is just a mine suggestion, so deal with it as you prefer of course.
  5. It does not have to be literally a (IC) prison mentioned in previous comments, just as an example. You very well know that (strawman). How you want to suggest that you can roleplay while you read the rules at the same time, tell me. It can be for example just some random ugly room spawned outside of the map. One of the other 1000 rooms which are already in the map. That time has to server as a time in OOC not IC as you imply it has to be IC time, paraphrasing you no no and no again, as also Roach typed above you, since one can learn roleplaying rules while being in OOC, in IC you won't learn the written rules. What is the point to force roleplaying ICC with players who don't know how to do it? On other side, even the best roleplayer in the server could by some action get to jail. It could be sort of a support discord in there. Or the criminals could be planning there during the time factions and plans. I don't force them together, it might be an example, not feeling being alone in prison, so feeling others are going through the same thing, but anyone can be spawned alone in a solitary room. Seems like you think they learn rules better when they get the eternal ban, than as when they are put together forced by the community and instead they have one/more opportunities to show they improved. Admins have less to thing whether to ban him, as it's not that final decision. It does not matter they would be funneled, it's a common sense, that those who really don't want to would not learn it even if you paid them, but those won't try to keep no AFK in a closed room and leave, and those who want to get better, will have the opportunity while being there. While still feeling being a part of the game as an encouragement, but having time to read rules in an overlay browser, or in in-game help. They don't have to improve at all, they can keep playing 5000 steam hours being enclosed by 4 tall walls, surely many of them will choose so. There could be for example also an short asking test with the jail officer prior letting the player out. Let's not seek 1000 problems for every solution. PS: players don't have to necessarily learn the correct roleplay per se, I was very good in it /me , "/do Shall he accept the push?" Rather they have to contemplate in prison, develop brain synapses by being jailed, not to be offending recidivist, not to speed drive, brawl, troll, use some animations etc as it's not worth it waiting in jail.
  6. Yeah, exactly, If I understand you well, you agree with me. The player in prison is not expected to roleplay at all, however is also not forbidden from doing so. The entire reason is to make the gameplay boring there. It adds to the server immersion imo, prisons get also an additional purpose aside of roleplaying to correct violating players. Player is motivated to improve, since he has an opportunity of doing so. And after achieving it, he will try to do better, as he doesn't want to lose something he achieved with his own big effort, otherwise he can be barred for a week real time. The players who were just noticed are still prone to repeat those action, those banned have no other chance, and in the end even those banned could actually turn out happen to become good and missable ones. Those jailed, are more effectively "noticed", than those just with a text notice not to be doing something violating.
  7. Short description: Jail/prison as a more common form of sentence for violating the rules of roleplaying Detailed description: Players who would violate the roleplay would be jailed to the prison, as I saw similar approach somewhere else, with others players who violated roleplay, where they could brawl or role play whatever they want during the the length of the punishment , but only in a simple small cell with many other players. In order for the jail time behind the bars to expire, the player has to stay active in the server the entire time in a single small solitary cell between 4 walls with all other jailed players. Like a half an hour, hour, two hours. It's actually a very effective form of punishment, as staying in a cell not doing anything creative is quite difficult and lesson-giving correction. For some notorious recidivist criminals the admin can opt to a lengthier jail time or a ban. On the other server I had to be like that imprisoned for 4 hours straight a clean time of being in the game. Which actually took me about a week IRL to accomplish, which taught me a hard lesson so I never repeated that action again on the given server. Commands to add: Items to add: How would your suggestion improve the server? admins could have a little less work, as the jail would expire automatically and they would see recidivist from the history, lesser amount of players would be lost, and a higher rate of improving the behavior, as was proven at the other server Additional information: The admin would decide the length of the prison stay for an offender
  8. Short description: Automatic help or an animation based on the contents of the text chat Detailed description: Similar as at some other fivem servers, when one would type into the chat a text "How to buy a car" or similar, automatic popup would jump up over down in the left down corner, recognizing the text "How" and contents "buy a car" or just the word "How to" , being in the help database, navigating the user what to press to see the help. Or typing in the text "What the fuck" would automatically trigger some rage animation, moving by hands. Typing "love to dance" would trigger some brief dance animation a single time, etc, new ideas would be develop what words for what animations. Commands to add: Items to add: How would your suggestion improve the server? Better immersion, more fluent world, not having to launch all the time animations and help manually Additional information:
  9. Short description: Youtube club dance videos huge TVs in the server dance clubs Detailed description: Many of us probably know and were in dance clubs where huge wall tvs were with music being played or various djs. It would even at the same time serve as a more realistic dj and for the immersion. This is a similar functionality suggested with the one existing of home TVs, but I thought it could be worth mentioning it. Commands to add: Items to add: 3D CEF Tv from Rage How would your suggestion improve the server? Better immersion, seeing the crowds of real people on a huge tv doing various dance creations and interesting moves Additional information: 3D CEF Rage TV Inspiration
  10. Yes for this generally, although after second thought I think it won't happen too often and in very populated places like disco, it might be even undesired to hear a person from other side of room where disco music plays loudly, so if it is worth of it
  11. Regarding this idea upon your remarks I have an addition (I updated the description accordingly), for identifying purposes, people in the chat would use just their IDs. Perhaps also only above their heads, and their name would be displayed only after they would disclose it to you, show the ID to the police officer or you would have to tag them, and their disclosed name would be shown to you, that way the person could even lie to you, if he wanted, as in real life. You might insist you would remember person better by name than by a face. The game face would be in this case more important, and if you think you could have mistaken a person for someone else, you should have asked him for a name (or using a command for it), anyway in real life mistaking someone for somebody else happens but less often especially with twins.
  12. @Wirbelwind your point is good one, and yeah I agree I maybe subconsciously remember it from gmod, regards identifying persons, the name could be displayed as well only for a while, while the person is talking, if the person was breaking the rules OOC, eg kicking or fast driving that's a good point. It would have to be worked around, I got not a bullet-proof idea off displaying a list of the most close recent players around, however if the person is not breaking the rules long enough, to be able to hover of him for a nickname, if it's really worth to punish such a person. Futhermore admins could have turned off displaying all the names or configurable by the settings. Another idea, when I think about it, and you would like to return to a person, who told something in the chat, instead of hovering over all the people in the room who could have told that, it is still possible to /pm the person, or hovering the person message would display his name though probably difficult to implement as you don't have access to gta source, or perhaps the most easy, issuing the command /locatePlayerMessageNumberOrMessageText and the nick of that player would be displayed. I think the best would be, just holding pressed some hotkey, all the names in room would be displayed. Thought the point of not recognizing known people, due to not seeing their nicknames and which person to consider a familiar one can be a very negative one I realize, person would perhaps had to tag players as familiar. On other side of it, as the human memory works, I might see some nicknames and actually not realizing I've ever met them in spite of the fact, I had spoken to them for lets say 20 minutes straight in the past. As it was the case when I was in the cinema, and I am very sure I would not recognize them, or if the brain could recall this name sounded familiar, though that's the thing which could be also partially addressed by hovering. I believe not only nicknames but also the visage , face albeit being a game face should partially server for recognizing.
  13. @Morgan that's a good point Morgan thanks. For this case although the names could be displayed only for friends, even more logical this your suggestion. Good point. Though I tend to think, you will still not remember all your friends just by name, definitely not immediately, or depends, now I realize there is no add friends functionality, so it would have to be displayed somehow per the fact if you have spoked with that person already. But really the most straightforward workaround would be displaying all the names only while keeping some keys pressed. @Jovis I will dare not to agree with yours "If it's not broken, don't fix it. Simple." if it was always the case , we would be still driving the stone square wheels cars and the same case was for GTA5 online , it worked, why to create Rage. Other than that I accept your stance of not agreeing with this suggestion. @r0yal I was thinking also about this your point too, that's why I suggested also cutting the long text, it is only similar I guess to those 3 dots over head typing, but more verbose, and you perhaps agree three dots over the head are no way intrusive and very helpful. People type much less time often imo than they have displayed names over their heads always and you see them only the direction you are looking at, so exaggerating like that it would be 10x times more for the case of putting your point across is still imo too much of a stretch. It could be perhaps configurable in the settings. Anyway I realize it could be still much of work anyway. I am an experienced web developer myself, but had to dedicate to my own projects somehow, so even if I really wanted, I could hardly add my helping hand at the moment.
  14. Short description: Display the game of the guy just after hovering him if possible, or just after typing a command or selecting from a menu. Show the typed text over his head, which he is just speaking for about 2 to 5 seconds Detailed description: When I came to the server as a newbie, in a lot of populated bars and areas, names over the people heads everywhere came disrupting to me and not immersive, as also the gameplay is about it, not knowing the name of the guy. I would suggest displaying his name only on-demand on hover or similar, and just typing what he said over his head just a cut part of it not to be too long if it's longer than a specified limit, like "I would like to order a bottle of champagne, the french one with..." and three dots, the remaining would have to be read in the chat history. For identification could serve only player IDs displayed over heads, and if the player would disclose his name either by a command or lying, you could tag him with that name. Even in chat would be displayed just ids until the person discloses it, for special professions, in the chat could be displayed generically 'bartender' etc, but the ID could be sufficient as well. Commands to add: /showName looking at the person, after hover or a GUImenu or pressing some hotkey for seeing all the names in the room, or IDs of the players Items to add: How would your suggestion improve the server? Servers without peoples names all over heads everywhere would look more realistic, less cluttered and so more immersive Additional information:
  15. Again I get your point (and thanks for giving an example also for my side) and I realize this is not going to be implemented , but my point which I want to put across is that due to chat roleplay the chat is delayed or sometimes never answered or after 4-6 hours in a job more like a chore, so it's less realistic, and I wondered if it's better to miss sentences and to not reply and/or so leaving the gameplay prematurely, spending less time on a server or rather having a few helping snippets, amending them so that they would not be duplicated or similar up to 30% to 80% of it's contents for a time window could be mandatory. Some players do not roleplay /me or /do that often aside from a direct speech, for whom this could help imho. As I don't want to speak due to the same reason I consider joining along this some voice server with text-to-speech if feasible, where is text as a complementary to the voice, to put across my point, I am looking for the ideal in my mind, not to condemn anything (don't conclude I want to leave this server or something) I understand the point of IC (roleplay), I also want the better immersion. Everyone of us can roleplay to the T, forming exceptional linguistic figures in speech almost approaching the arts of Shakespeare if you will and some poems, but the huge element of roleplay interruption is there the /b command , just people pretend to neglect it when they use it, but it happens in quite considerable times, but at the same time we long to make it a great gameplay, so we use /b when needed quite often too.
