Could I get a show of hands (( React to this post here )) on how many of you would be applying for the faction once our first application wave is opened? Curious to know how many we can get in this first application wave. Est. time for first recruitment wave should be around mid- Octoberish.

Thank you everyone for the support / feed back. To assist faction management in the upcoming discussion I want to get a community wide opinion about adding the teamspeak aspect of air traffic control. In my opinion I think this would be a good option given that pilots could fly and talk at the same time while instead of typing while diving to their death. With that main reason in mind this would avoid a lot of unintentional crashes / voided Role plays. Comparing this idea to LEO role play I specifically had an interest back in my LSRP days because of the TAC channels / situations. It made the police role play twice as interesting. I think the same can be said about having a working teamspeak channel dedicated for tower / enroute environment. Lastly, pilots who do not want to speak in the channel would have to type instead as well as having ATC give them a typed messaged as well, but they are required to also be in the teamspeak channel so that they can properly monitor the traffic environment. I think enforcing it should happen just not the talking aspect for the pilots who do not want to speak on teamspeak, but they must connect / monitor the frequency. I think this would be a fair trade if implemented, as well as interesting. For PD/SD it’s a simple cleated for take off than frequency changed approved if a TAC channel happens since you cannot be in more than 1 channel at a time. Thoughts???

Then it seems to me that aircraft prices need to change. I would suggest using this as a template of all the prices. Obviously not all the aircraft on this list will be implemented, but at least the prices seem reasonable. It took me a while to get up to 300K and that's just to get a plane, not go through the training process which is the other issue. If their is someone on the other end of the radio then it will create a challenge and make it a bit more interesting for the pilots as now they have to follow a set procedure as well as understand the set procedure. I have a work around with this as I've seen that typing can become a disaster with flying. Pilots who want to fly solo could have their initial call out pre-typed and copied then all other responses will just have to be their call-sign once ATC gives them instructions until they are on the ground and safe. Ex: This message would be copied already. Pilot: Los Santos Tower, 3144 Victor, with you one-zero miles north to land, we have information Alpha. ATC: 3144 Victor, Los Santos Tower, make straight in runway 2-4 report 5 mile final. Pilot: 3144V. For students: CFI's will handle the radio when flying closed traffic patterns, then do the old switcharoo for a lesson that focuses around communication with ATC where full responses are required when the CFI flies and the student replies. For other Pilots: This will encourage pilots to have a Co-Pilot as well to assist in the radio and /me's etc while in-flight.

I'll be honest and not sugar coat it @Fergie. From what I witness so far in the server the answer is simply no. I think starting up this legal faction would have a signifiant impact on the aviation role-play and more people would be interested in flying if their is someone on the other end of the atc frequency. Think of it like having the LSPD without any suspects or crime shortage. In addition, to starting up the LSAA A few things I think need to occur in addition to assist in improving aviation RP. 1) Aircraft prices. So far a Lear Jet and a Mammatus are around the same price of 1.8 million. Thats silly because in real life a Cessna ranges around 300K to 800K or more and a Lear Jet is around 1.5 - 4.9 Million the Buckingham Nimbus is the same price as a Mammatus 1.1 million. So adjusting the prices could help. 2) Improving Aviation such as interiors on aircraft. 3) Adding a cargo transportation job at LSIA. Truckers who work their way up can apply for a pilots license then work for a local air cargo flights transporting goods from LSIA > Blane and LSIA > Grape. Then from Blane > LSIA for the county goods that need to be transported to the city. 4) Adding more planes like the shamal. 5) Flight Schools. Once the flight schools improve on flight instructors more pilots could be pushed through which will increase the total air traffic. 6) Schedule events like airshows. 7) Emergency RP's. If flights declare an emergency there is now a middle man (ATC) that has to assist the pilot on landing as well as talking to FD / LEO's on the situation. In short RP for FD and PD/SD will improve!!! 8 ) Air taxi's?

I want to also add on about TRACON idea. I actually would be totally down to add that as well if not have that be a primary focus of ATC over Tower / Ground.

@anumaz I first appreciate your support / honesty. I want to dig in first with the rendering problem as I actually agree with it being a solid problem. Are you talking about the control tower in the center of LSIA for previous faction attempts? If so I would make two mapping suggestions in-case one is way to much work / impossible to do as I can understand that mapping in GTAV compared to SAMP is a pain. First if it is at all possible map in the ATC tower at fort Zanchudo and place it just near where taxiway charlie, and alpha meet together just on the top right portion. If that does not work perhaps look for another interior that can be used as a tower and have it in the same virtual setting as GTA-World (( or how ever in order to see the physical aircraft. )) I know this won't ultimately work as the further planes go on the ground you will not see them anymore. Ultimately, it would lay upon the communication between ATC and the Pilots. ATC would solely depend on position reports, as well as give restrictions to aircraft to ensure that they are in-fact properly separated both on the ground and in the LS Airspace. Next is lack of traffic. Again I will meet you half way on this even though I have not actually seen the activity so far air travel wise. Having a few things implemented / enforced for the traffic schools would be the first thing I would look into such as requiring student pilots to fly into a controlled air spaces and practice flying traffic patterns "Cleared for the option" while the instructor is handling the radio, then do the old switch aroo and have the student speak with ATC because of right now their is no one to talk to. Same can be applied for PD Air, SD Air, and FD Life Flight if they approve. Another idea which I will toss is get rid of all the fuel stations besides the one at LSIA. Idk if Blaine or other aviation companies will appreciate that though so I will leave that opened for further discussion. Lastly I think it's both prices of planes, and lack of flight instructors as a whole. Don't get me wrong though I know theirs a few flight schools right their that are working their butts off to get all the students in. I see a few issues though with scheduling and timing in so perhaps opening another flight school (( one of my buddies is interested )) could open up and we can see which time zone is needing instructors. Another thing I can suggest is a new addition for cargo flights at LSIA to go to Blane county to drop off "crates" to which truckers can pickup and deliver to places such as stores. The farming job can deliver crates to Blane, and then cargo pilots can pickup crates load them into the aircraft and take them to LSIA to be delivered their while all making money as a pilot. Then theirs passenger flights / air taxis that fly on a day to day basis when fares occur. Connect everything with traveling. Taxi companies out in the county can give rides for passenger to the airport planes can arrive and take passengers to LS etc. I think their is around five aviation companies in total right now, yes not all can be active but I truly think if we all put our ideas together and think of a ultimate way to improve aviation RP in GTA-World this can in-fact all work out for a good time period.

I would say their is. As far as a head count their will need to be enough personnel to cover specific days of the week + times. During any shift 2 minimum would be enough to cover a 4 hour shift, but technically your suppose to rotate every 2 hours so perhaps 4 personnel daily. It also would not be a 24/7 business. We would only operate during peek times for traffic when we are actually needed. When off duty it will simply be as it is right now, pilots will give reporting points.

I mean I would also accept challenges as well give me as many aircraft one day and make us all go bald. Jk!!! Pls no....

Short description: Having both "LS GROUND" and "LS TOWER" active at LSIA who are just in-charge of that sector. Investigating Pilot Deviation reports, and enforcing aviation regulations alongside the other government factions. Investigate crashes. Detailed description: Adding an ATC faction in LSIA with a working tower building to see the entire airport grounds and aircraft who are approaching the airport. Enforcing proper phraseology when entering / exiting / engine start up / departing / taxing / holding short etc. You may say whats the point aviation traffic is on a low. Adding this I think will greatly improve it as well as add another interesting job with all the others!! ATC can also publish charts for anyone who wants to start RPing IFR instead of VFR flights. Proposing teamspeak to be used for radio comms as well as a third party program to get a map of all the air traffic to which you can see where they are in respect to the GTA World map. Commands to add: /transponder on | /transponder off | /ident (( blimp will flash for all active controllers )) | /atcduty on/off | /lsia atis (( ATC can type of a full atis report so pilots can get all the airport info )). Items to add: Adding FAR [Federal Aviation Reg's, and making an AIM or Aeronautical Information Manual for all to view]. How would your suggestion improve the server?: Pilots will have more immersion now that their is someone on the other end of the radio. Additional information: I think aviation RP will greatly improve if we add this into the server because of ATC. Their will now be a voice that pilots will have to speak to as well as published procedures to follow when approaching and leaving the LS Sector. Lets make aviation RP Heavy!!!!!
