  1. So the part of the script that did not make it into the movie? Do we judge all movies by what's not included in them? The part of the script they did not include is pedophiliac, but then you should restructure your argument that the poster should be banned based on a scene that never happened. Most people weren't even aware it existed (like me who had to google search the original script) because...it was never in the movie. I'm not giving this thread any more interaction and I feel a lot of my talking points were kind of ignored. People can agree or disagree but whether or not Leon the Professional is a pedophile dog whistle is up to everybody's personal opinions...and their personal experiences.
  2. I'll defend this movie. Leon the Professional is a great. There's a super obvious father/daughter "coming of age" dynamic present that nobody seems to ever acknowledge since most people just see what's in front of them. Some people on this server are obsessed with pedophilia and are incapable of imagining an adult having an interaction with a child that isnt sexual but I guess that's their own issues they're working through. Saying you want this poster removed because it's a "pedophile dog whistle" is like demanding songs be removed because they have "satanic messages". I don't care if the poster stays or goes but this is just stirring the pot.
  3. This is really cool but add variety! Your character is just kinda looking at the camera for these. Keep the one with you on the phone but add like.. a gun pose, inside a car, at the beach, peace sign, exploding car, smoking, drinking etc. I think adding in just a few of those and removing some of the selfies can make it a little more well rounded. Definitely inspired me to make my own!
  4. This is so funny. Anybody who calls themselves a true roleplayer is just a narcicist. Realist too. Fac leader, surenos, non- characters and character stories are my favorites for sure. Anybody getting mad is just projecting LOL. I wanna be a realist girl boss but I just end up a sureno girlboss, and now I'm cusping neo nazi girlboss territory.
  5. The part towards the end with the red guy folding and the blood splatter? Hard.
  6. Ouch. Yeah sometimes you can't help but really think about all the little things that lead to our character's development. A cool video maybe more people should do, detailing their lives.
  7. Hi you might have a better chance posting this under the bugs and player support section. I had this bug a long time ago and it fixed itself after I reinstalled my gta entirely. However, I felt I had to do this because another server had permanently modified some files in my GTA which replaced some beanies with others which lead to me wearing Christmas beanies out of season which made a lot of people PM me about it until I realized why. Of course that may not work for you and uninstalling GTA is kind of a nuke move too. My last bit of advice would be maybe just relog into Rockstar games or something.
  8. You're going to have to visit clubs and bars and talk to people instead of waiting for things to happen. You're going to have to break ice with a lot of people because they will be waiting for you to break ice just as you are waiting for them. The community here is very large so to say you're disconnected from the server may or may not be true depending on how far you've dived. If you want to be independent but want to do things like sell drugs, guns, or gray-area stuff, you're going to have to grind the initial hours of being a nobody. You'll have to be an interesting person, a more upfront and direct person, spend more money, and take more risks than most people establishing connections because that's just the way it is as an independent roleplayer. However keep in mind that you're allowed to roleplay with factions without joining them. You can always work your way as an "acquaintance" in order to keep your individuality while establishing connections, resources, and friends. I think I would say the way to enjoy GTA:W is to explore possbilities instead of waiting for opportunities. Roleplay with different crowds and find the one that you want to roleplay with, not just the people who are available to you. Lastly, be interesting but not the main character. Treat yourself as a freaks and strangers missions, ultimately leaving people behind with a little memory and going about your business until the next time you see them you know? Some final footnotes, you can't take things too personally because ultimately everybody's experience is vastly different. Some people play on smaller monitors, shittier pcs, different reading and typing speeds, outside distractions, different first languages etc. It's just best to realize that when people do give you their attention that it should be appreciated. (However sometimes you need to remind people the /highlight will add color text to the target for easier for identification) As for LEO rp... you'll have a lot to do but you'll have to interact with both spectrums of the server's population. Good luck!
  9. The type of bleeding you talk about is a non-issue, sorta. I have had a few scenarios where people decided to treat me differently OOC as a result of me acting in my own self interest. Truth is, it doesn't really bother me because it lets me know who I do and don't want to roleplay with. On the other side - people are allowed to not roleplay with you based off your ooc personality, or at least attempt to avoid you as a result of your nature whether ooc or ic. Naturally this should be done in an ic manner, but they don't have to provide any real reason other than just your existence. The reason I say this is a non-issue is because, well, you can't really do anything about it. People are allowed to avoid others and getting "blackslisted" isn't really like an official thing so it can't really be addressed as nobody can object to the exclusivity of a faction. I think people just take themselves a little too seriously sometimes as shitposting on the forums should not really matter, honestly. Although, the "play to win" mentality to everywhere, I think the source is a different issue. I believe more people need to just explain themselves or their actions, as sometimes we expect that we were wronged from previous experiences or other reasons. We need to go forward, being more transparent about everything. This means that people need to be OK oocly explaining themselves without fear of metagamed retaliation. I mean, I'm sure everybody has that situation where it turned into a report when it could've been a private message. Otherwise, the secrecy that stems from the paranoia of getting metagamed and "losing" often results in unnecessary reports where the players have to reveal their motives and intentions on the forums anyways so yeah, people should put away their ooc distrust or prejudices and stop bleeding into reports.
  10. Yeah I had read your replies to others. "Write what you know" extends to your friends - you know their stories and their struggles too, right? Despite so may people having similar struggles, all our stories are unique so don't be afraid to pull some inspiration from your friends!
  11. Youre going to have to step out of your comfort zone if you want to break cycles. I understand this trap completely. Ultimately, I had to make some bad choices and do something my character would never do. Despite stepping outside of my comfort zone and feeling like I was breaking my characters trajectory, it really made the best experiences. Your mental health is only going to act up if you start using, your connections will only be established by talking to people you don't usually talk to. Bad decisions are great stories especially when you have to balance your bad decisions with your characters lifestyle. But in small amounts, you don't need to disrupt your character's life by quitting your job and buying 20 grams of meth to see the results, just making bad decisions will produce results.
  12. I don't really think I meet the melanin requirement to speak on this but I have an idea. Some mexican gangs spawn in repping 13 which can affect the way they're interacted with by other Mexican gangs. Understanding that taking on another sureno set means fighting the eMe members that represent them, some of which also represent your own faction. This can curb a lot of conflict, and acts as a channel of diplomacy. You can see the same sort of thing with whites and skinheads as they have a loosely organized culture, as do surenos. A loose enough culture to significantly slow down or curb conflicts between them. From my limited time trying to roleplay in black factions, it was clear there wasn't too much of a structure which lead to gangs definitely fighting more frequently, ultimately leading to notable conflicts and gangs turfs being redrawn a lot. The constant gang violence definitely attributes to the lack of self perserverence as it inhibits development and usually can be a losing battle when paired with gang injunctions and internal conflict, etc. But when you bang in a high traffic area like Davis or Rancho, you really do have to stand your ground or risk extinction anyways.
  13. I think something similar has been done before in Sandy. As for the Vinewood dirt track? I don't think that's the location for this sort of thing as it isn't meant for cars and can only support a few cars without it getting unreasonably chaotic. Not saying it can't happen, I would just want to consider other venues like a large warehouse, parking lot, fenced off dirt road, etc to help match the "beginning years" of a derby league. (But tbh that doesnt really matter just opinion.) I really like your idea and I hope others too so we can see this through. Very excited though and will be keeping my eye out for future posts!
  14. Hey, you seem like you're projecting - I never said any names specifically or pointed fingers. We actually roleplayed in Rancho. You made your decisions the best you could and ultimately it probably wasn't enough because you are not the faction. There are things beyond your control that lead to this also. Nobody said you were wrong. Sorry if you feel to blame. I don't blame you for anything and I would say it's unfair for anybody to blame anybody here. But to say that eMe did everything correct and by the book is inaccurate, in my opinion.
  15. The decisions that would not allow them to continue is how they operate among themselves, not their portrayal of eMe. As said, infighting and nepotism had created a roundtable of "regulars" that constantly received power regardless of character. I agree, people should be loyal to a faction and not its users. When people are loyal to users, they stay in power and prevent realistic and natural development of factions and stories. When it comes to murdering your way up, youre right - it does not really work that way. However, that has not stopped eMe's internal fighting and power struggles that ultimately exist to maintain control of the faction. This is why a council was created instead, I would think. I'm hoping this change shuffles around the deck of surenos and we get some new faces in power. As for the emero thing, I'll have to look for the archived report as it happened like a year ago and might have even happened when the last generation of eMe took over initially. But yeah, eme's change was so dramatic that people forget this wasn't just a random thing, there's history, evidence, trails etc.
  16. IFM didn't do this randomly or because of an isolated incident. eMe's history is completely full of terrible IC decisions that wouldn't allow them to stay active and the regurgitated roster allowed them to circumvent the consequences of their own actions which lead to eMe's restructure. Some factions do anything to stay alive and relevant and it goes to show the loyalty lays with the users and maybe not the characters or the gang. We can also talk about the CK's that were NPC'd by eMe as well instead of performed icly, making the double standard very painful. When it comes to factions, there is a lot of nepotism and ooc quid pro quo that is ultimately harmful for the health of the faction and the illegal roleplay community.
  17. Why make a thread about this? These are just IC effects of IC events. The internal fighting and betrayal, resources being stretched across several different factions, and maybe just bad business practices in general have lead to this. It's not like it's dead forever, youre just seeing Surenos in a weakened state. Chances are, things might be a little slow until after the holidays too, so just wait around and see how the city changes.
  18. The issue is there no punishment for a void. While a void is meant to make players happy, some sort of issue usually occurs and is not addressed which is the real problem, I would say. If a player caused hours of roleplay to be undone, there needs to be at least some sort of talk to reinforce the concept that what happened was not acceptable even if unintentional. At a certain point, people need to be held accountable for their mistakes because they're smart enough to learn from them and not repeat them. And when a scene is voided you have to remember it may be an inconvenience to LEO but the rippling effects of an investigation stemming from a scene that was not valid can topple factions, disrupt politics, and permanently kill character's not even involved.
  19. Yeah I don't run in real life so I don't run in game unless I'm confident nobody is watching. If I'm in a rush to log off or catching up to a crowd, I'll just jog instead of the full-speed sprint.
  20. You get more out of GTA:W the more you put in. Whats worked for me is : go to any advertisement or event instead of working. Once you make some acquaintances you'll probably realize there's a lot of opportunities even if you're a less active player during off hours. If the event is not your character's taste, just remember you're going for the people and not the event. If I go to an event thats my character's style like a mosh pit, I will easily find other people to interact with that match or parallel my character development. If I go to an event that's not my character's style, like an EDM club, I might run into other people that are "out of their element" similar to my own character, which makes them easier to approach and interact with. If there are no businesses or events due to the lack of players just go to Davis.
