Slice of life RP (I like this term for this sorta stuff) like this should be encouraged. Common sense restrictions in place are really easy, and I think could be agreed on across the board to allow for a neat RP environment. Simple things like mentioned: short classes, focus on extracurriculars, and something aimed at being more of a community thing than what might be considered a traditional 'school' for the sake of RP that isn't just... Well, real school. It has a lot to offer, but it'd certainly require some thought and so on. It's honestly kinda funny seeing people both whine about illegal RP and what not, while at the same time actively whining about something that could potentially benefit and improve things. Weird sight tbh. @Maxim if it's not too much to ask, maybe consider opening the doors - So to speak, and getting input from groups in/around the intended areas of engagement. Getting everyone on the same page beforehand will make this incredibly smooth.

It's really worrying seeing people getting so bent out of shape OOCly for an IC issue, if anything this sort of stuff should be encouraged. I'm not going to debate the technicalities of what spurred the event, but I'd ask everyone that feels this was done in poor taste to remember that a large group of people borderline laid siege to the US Capitol not even a year ago because their preferred politician didn't win. Honestly, civil unrest is basically a commonality of American life now. Plus, think about all the RP this generates? Someone mentioned that there were fresh boys in blue straight out the academy here, can you imagine getting to RP that? Your very first night in your new job and you're quite literally thrown into the fire and flames? That's some bombass character development. What about the people that might go find some lawyers from the JSA and try to initiate suits against the city or PD/SD? BAM! That's more RP generated not only on the civvie side, but it gives those lawyers a very unique opportunity to become the legal face of an IC movement - Again, this is only generating more RP. What about the gov faction who, come elections, have the ability to work this into their platform? Use it as a way to enhance their base essentially and try and score them brownie points with a specific block of voters. And of course, there's the protestors - Who ICly, can of course feel this is a valid issue and want to see it addressed. I could go on. TLDR: This is realistic if you've ever paid mild attention to the US news. It also generates RP like a magical box. Good shit to everyone involved, glad to see mostly positive feelings toward it.

I think this is a good idea and can have a positive effect in two ways. 1) Modernizing IC tech. 2) If the old phones are left in, it'll create a slight used market. They aren't valuable enough to become a major moneysink, but it could potentially provide a bit more RP for tech/phone stores and pawn shops. Niche, no doubt, but people might seek out these shops and RP being financially disadvantaged and buying used is a more viable option.
