  1. Word On The Street Vol.3 Ft. Money Man Vick Jad McFearson MoneyMan Vick I would like to introduce you all to MoneyMan Vick, one of the youngest artists in the game, but that hasn't stopped him from trying to reach the top. MoneyMan Vick has dropped some hits such as "Groovy Story" and "Pick N' Roll." Jad: Can you let everyone know where you are from? Vick: I grew up in Los Santos, Davis, and Strawberry. Straight from the Groove, Big Hoova ya heard! Jad: I was told that you graduated with honors in HS; you didn't want to go to college? Vick: Going to a university is a scam to me. You can get the same education at a two-year college and save double the amount of money. I'd go to college if it were free, but I'm too deep in the rap game now too turn back. Jad: I have been told you are the next prodigy, and big things are coming your way; how do you feel when people say you are next up? Vick: When people say, I'm up next and things like that. It just makes me feel like I need to keep working and grinding harder. Next up means that I still need to put in more work, and there are definitely some things I need to clean up in my game, ya dig? When I hear that, it just makes me wanna attack any track harder at the studio. Jad: If you could collaborate with any local artist, who would it be? Vick: It's a few local artists who I'd like to feature with or be on a song. Bell, most definitely, Banga, and Goldie. They are spittin! No cap! Put all of us on a song, and watch that plaque go platinum. Jad: Ok, ok, my bad, well, can you answer this? With you bringing Drill music to Los Santos, you've really put a target on your back; how are you handling that pressure? Vick: When MoneyMan Vick hit the scene, there was no pressure on him. He's the one putting pressure on the scene now. MoneyMan Vick and Jad McFearson Jad: What are your current thoughts on where the hip-hop game is at? Vick: Hip Hop isn't what it used to be. All you need now is a melody; rarely anyone listens for true lyrics. I try to craft my style after how the game is changed. I'm a hybrid rapper. I can give you bars and hit them notes if you need me too, feel me? Jad: When making a song, what's the thought process you go through? Vick: I'm really unorthodox when it comes to music. I'll make a whole song just by freestyling in 10 to 15 minutes, or I'll just take my time and write each line, layer by layer, line by line, bar for bar, so I can make sure each stanza, rhyme scheme, the flow, everything goes together. Jad: Who influenced your style? Vick: I'd say my biggest influences would be J Cole, Laudieondatrack, Lil Tunechi, I'll say some Uzi Vert, and definitely a lot of old school rappers. I love old school hip hop. Jad: What went down for you to sign with Magnolia? Vick: Magnolia noticed me right away. Treated me like I was part of the fam out the gate. They invited me over to their offices as soon as they heard my music. Once I made it over to the studio, everything was pretty much set in stone. The vibe was dope, everybody was cool with me being on board, and we got some of the best artists in Los Santos ranging from DrillBill, Count Em Clay, and some other new additions, not including myself, who gone put that fire back to Los Santos. Jad: Thanks for taking the time to do this interview with me; I really appreciate it. Vick: Oh no doubt, fearsome, I had fun, and I'm glad to put my story out there. I want to thank MoneyMan Vick and Magnolia Records for allowing me to do this interview; This is Jad McFearson signing out on this third edition of Word on the Street. 2. Word On The Street Vol. Two Ft. Goldie Jad McFearson Goldie With the second installment of Word On The Street, I would like to introduce you all to a very popular artist, Goldie. Goldie has recently signed with Homicidal records and is leading the way for women artists in the music industry. Goldie has some big hits such as "Spend some get some" and "Reasons." Jad: So the fans are curious, where are you from? Goldie: I'm from El Burro Heights, but I went back and forth between El Burro and North Rancho between my parent's houses growing up. Jad: Growing in that environment can't be rough; how was it growing up there? Goldie: It kind of made me grow up quick; both areas are rough, you know? The Heights no joke though, I spent most of my time growing up over there. But it helped me grow into the woman I am today, you know? Jad: How did you get into making music? Goldie: Well, to be honest, I was messing around before, but I really started to be serious when I got locked up in Y.A (Youth Authority). Jad, Goldie, Kobe and an associate Jad: Ahh, ok, so being in there made you really work on your craft? Goldie: Yeah, it really got me to where I am now, I was okay, but doing two years in there, I really got to work on my craft. Jad: What made you sign with Homicidal records? Goldie: To be honest, they gave me the best deal, and me being the only female rapper right now, I kinda get blackballed, but Homicidal didn't do me like that. Jad: Glad you mentioned that; that leads me to my next question, with you being the most prominent female artist in the game, how are you handling that? Goldie: I'm humble, you know? To me, I'm still little ol me. I'm really trying to get my neighborhoods name out there; the city forgets about the eastside. I think people forget us females got heat just like guys do. Jad: Do you believe there's a double standard in the music industry? Goldie: Yeah, I do, but at Homicidal, it isn't, we are all family female or male. I can't speak on the other labels, but you gotta think about it, I am the only female rapper. Goldie and Homicidal record owner Kobe I want to thank Goldie and Homicidal Records for allowing me to do this interview; This is Jad McFearson signing out on this second edition of Word on the Street with Goldie. 3. Word On The Street Vol. One Jad McFearson Introducing the first of many volumes of Word on the Street, where I will be interviewing artists to give you all the juicy insights you could ever desire. For this first volume, I would like to introduce you all to someone who you're probably well aware of, the legend himself, DJ LeCamp. LeCamp is regarded as the best DJ in Los Santos; he's DJed at about every single club and is the headliner for most events. LeCamp is known to have a club jumping every time he steps behind the turntables. Most recently he went on a small club tour in Europe, and every club he attended was packed and bouncing. Jad: Well, let's jump right into it; where are you from? DJ LeCamp: I'm from San Diego, born and raised. Jad: Ahh ok so always been from the West Coast? DJ LeCamp: Mhmm, I lived all my life in San Diego until a year ago when I decided to move to Los Santos. Jad: Do you think your background helped turn you into the success you are today? DJ LeCamp: I guess the biggest thing I took from San Diego is well the multicultural mindset. I'm pretty progressive, I'd say. Because it's so close to the border, you tend to meet a lot of different walks of life, and I guess that made me an open person. Jad: How did you start DJing? DJ LeCamp: I started young... During high school, I use to make mixtapes and such with old cassettes, recording songs from the radio on them. Then it progressed me getting my first controller in college where I DJ'd at frat parties and such until I moved on to the bars and small clubs. DJing was just something I did for that extra cash on the side. So I guess that is how I started. Jad McFearson and Dj LeCamp sitting down to talk Jad: When did you realize you had a real passion for DJing? DJ LeCamp: I had a dude, visiting a bar I was DJing at who owned a club called Club Legal. He liked how I interacted with the audience even though it was just a dingy lounge bar. He offered me a spot to DJ for his night club, and the response was amazing, and I tasted blood, so to say. I wanted more after that. Jad: How do you balance between giving the crowd what they want and treating them with something new? DJ LeCamp: Well, most gigs are two hours, right? So I alternate between classics that everybody loves and songs that could become the next classic, you know? It's all about having a good mix of songs; I often get questions while DJing like " What's that song?" or " What remix is this?" I even got someone asking when I played one of my own produced songs, which was a real treat; I couldn't stop smiling honestly. Jad: Oh, so you produce too? DJ LeCamp: Mhmm, yea. I recently released my debut EP on all streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple music. It's called "Alone," stylized with quotation marks. Jad: Ahh, ok, that's dope. I thought I did my homework, clearly, I missed that, but I will most definitely listen. Being the biggest DJ in the city, I'm sure you can't go anywhere without being known, but how does it feel? DJ LeCamp: It feels alright. I think a lot of people know that I am pretty down to earth, approachable if you will. So like, screaming fangirls are kept to a minimum. But I appreciate any love coming my way as I feel you have to be thankful for what you get—especially something like this. Jad: Well, that will do it; I appreciate you taking time out of your busy for this interview. DJ LeCamp: No, thank you, I've always loved the work LSNN has done. This is Jad McFearson signing out on this first edition of Word on the Street with Dj LeCamp. Stay tuned for more exciting interviews with the biggest artists in Los Santos! lsnn.gta.world
