After the realization that the aspiring faction created to give gang RP an alternative avenue to trek on isn't going to work I've decided to speak with my faction members and encourage them to join pre-existing factions. In hindsight, our gang, like many other gangs, isn't truly unique but more or less an offshoot of an already pre-existing faction (i.e bloods/crips, similar concept with a few key differences). I'd like to say while the idea was fun, I personally don't think my members and I wish to continue. Those in our faction that wish to RP their characters should take into account the gangs eventual collapse and should go out their way to either join another group or try and reform it, I encourage it. I've found other areas to RP in and I'm sure they can to! Thanks anyway for the short, yet enjoyable ride!

We've decided that we want to tell a good story with our RP, and with the recent report made and signs of deathmatching, we just don't feel real comfy there anymore and can't expand in any direction, nor build up any inventory. Another issue is that after being urged OOCly to gloss over the Tortilla Flats lore as well as the lore surrounding the Sixties Crips, Hoovers, etc... It wouldn't make sense for us to be there without a long term buildup and realistically, without being apart of an Umbrella. Finally, we relocated to Vespucci because not many gangs inhabit it, and the ones that do are renowned for their ability to rationally think. We made mistakes with our location, and from a few IC and OOC misconceptions with our newest members, relations were further strained. We're fixing our mistake before it's too late, but we still don't agree with how certain factions handled their RP. Live and learn, adapt and continue to have fun.

History: Varrio Melanoma Olvidados (VMO) is a Hispanic gang founded on Melanoma St. located in Vespucci. The groups name 'Olvidados' originates from the lack of Hispanics in Vespucci Beach, most Hispanics outnumbered by the large White and Asian populace. A majority of the members are proud of their heritage and culture, claiming their "Chicano" heritage. The group was able to claim Melanoma St. in the mid 2000s after the area gained a surge of Hispanics living in the region during the 2000s. The Olvidados became a street gang after anti-Hispanic attacks were prevalent other gangs in the region, forcing la raza to take up arms against those who wished to destroy and displace the people of the community. The group was founded by Oscar Alcazar and Stephen Gonzales in the projects surrounding Melanoma Street and Magellan Avenue in the mid 2000s. The gang was religious, following Catholic teachings and Santa Muerte as their patron saint, dedicating their body to depict artwork of skeletons and themes of the dead. These tattoos became a staple for members of VMO to get on their bodies, showing their allegiance to the gang and their faith in Santa Muertes ability to protect them. Later down the line they adopted the breed of dog known as 'Pitbull' into their gang culture, using them as a symbol to express members of the gang, the dog being chosen for it's ferocity, viciousness and misunderstood personality, it also related to 'Dog Town'. The gang came from humble beginnings, being made up of only four members from the same project building dedicated to protecting their race. The gang chose the colors 'White and Black', the white represents their soul while the black represents the theme of death and strength. Typical attire for the members of VMO usually relate to black and white articles of clothing (i.e baseball caps, sports jerseys and jackets) containing either imagery of death or the letters 'O' or 'M'. Current Year: Nine years later the gang continues to control Melanoma Street, turning it into a Hispanic safe haven in the process. The group spends a majority of their time building up their community and being watchdogs for the locals, keeping an eye out for any possible issues. The VMO are still proud of their Hispanic roots and still continue with the theme of Santa Muerte, dedicating their bodies and minds to the beliefs of the saint of death. The group has seen a massive influx of members over the course of a couple months, reaching new heights and opening multiple avenues for the group to take. OOC: The group aims to have gang influenced style of role-play but the groups identity will not be focused solely on this theme. We wish to have an interesting group that members can enjoy being apart of. Being apart of this group means you willingly accept that the gang can try and sentence you to death if you warrant it.
