  1. If a PK is permissible, a faction CK is permissible. That's basically the practical bar. Meaning that since they can't just walk up and shoot you for existing (a PK would be voided because that's deathmatching), then a CK would be reversed too (because it's still deathmatching). If a PK is permissible (situation escalated, or person behaved/continues to behave in a way that jeopardizes an entire group, or any other reason that is solid by the server's standard on PKs) then a faction CK is permissible, because in essence, what happens is, you get PK'd and the faction leaders go "we're turning that PK into a CK". But if the PK itself - that was (in theory) turned into a CK - had any form of rulebreaks (DM or MG via OOC vendettas) then it's still getting reversed, and the executors may be punished.
  2. For #3 you don't need an admin. #1 you only need an admin if one party insists that it wasn't desync. #2 only needs an admin, again, if one party refuses to let the other party leave. That was never "a rule" per se, but it is still enforced. Players have the full right to agree to void situations between themselves, so long as all parties involved in the situation agree to void it. If a single party involved disagrees, then it cannot be voided that way, and a report must be made.
  3. (( Another $500,000 in mortgages granted to satisfied customers since the thread's initial date. Thank you to everyone that's participated so far. If you have yet to, we'd love to help! ))
  4. There's no abuse there, I assure you. I encourage any PM member to see exactly who's walking into our diner. When you have a diner open up for around 12 hours daily, is it really a surprise that we're always hitting the cap?
  5. Factually false. Huh? Our group has literally never had their DM change at any single campaign. We can switch up who the DM is at different campaigns, but for the most part, we have a favorite DM and that person enjoys being the DM. You don't just switch up who the DM is halfway through a campaign (you could, but it'd be weird, the storyline and the vision would change). Staff can always take LoAs to do things they want and have someone else replace them. In fact, if you want to argue, you can easily make a point that the even with a reduced amount of staff, given they don't need to RP anymore on their own main alts, they'd have way more time to focus on the actual players. No, it's because money in game is used so that you can roleplay the things you want to roleplay. It's that simple.
  6. I like it. The prevention of having admins RP strict characters means slashing a large portion of their bias, and helps ensure the majority of players are having fun. Being a Dungeon Master in general is very enjoyable and it's the sort of quality that admins should have in the first place. I think how this would be approached is through a simple script in game where admins can use commands or a GUI to add commendations to players, where the script automatically bumps up players' levels based on the amount of their commendations. Maybe they reset when you have a bad admin interaction (only the history would show, but # reverts to 0). I don't think this system will ever be put in place. I already see admins being pissed that they can't RP and say "we're being punished" (even though being a Dungeon Master, again, is way more fun than roleplaying one specific character). I see Nervous hating it. I really don't think it'd ever be put in place. I would suggest focusing on commendations first, but we already know that people that RP closer to admins will be the most likely to get commendations, and it would cause incredible bias.
  7. I agree, but I don't see a way to put it into effect without a system that fails to acknowledge all players. How do you get boosted? Do you get recommended by X amount of players (meta becomes to make friends)? Or do you have to wait until an admin acknowledges you (meta becomes to do specific types of RP where you're more likely to get recognition)?
  8. Sure, have admins be DMs. It's a great idea, but it doesn't address the fact that the issue lies with the majority of the players.
  9. I see reducing paychecks based on age helping here. People simply can't RP being rich if they aren't.
  10. Yes, I already suggested this before because many businesses have suffered. It should be the default until changed. Meaning players can opt-out of it but are opted-in by default. This way business exposure in chat remains at a maximum without compromising QoL functionalities.
  11. I definitely agree with this. Tyrannically jumping the gun to try and shut down people's avenue of fun on an OOC basis would be a disaster. If people have an IC concern about the legality of these advertisements or their invasiveness, the licensing idea would do wonders. In general, the representatives should host more discussions with the public (both on the forums and in game) so that ideas and opinions can be reflected through IC means (which are 100x more fun to participate in than OOC'ly dictating what and what not others should RP).
  12. Overclocking my fan fixed this permanently. Using a custom fan curve on 100% @ 85C

  14. (( Oh god I love the raw satire in this. Truly a work of art. ))
  15. This is such a reductionist statement. Hey, can I have a pretty massive mansion for free? I have a life. I don't want to pay. E-currency is meaningless. Please give me the mansion for free otherwise I'm simply being punished for having a life. No. Supply and demand works. The current system needs to be altered so that the demand truly reflects the quality of the people that should have the property. That simple.
  16. If you cannot afford the tax on your house, get a cheaper house, or get an apartment. The concept is to stop inactive/poor people from having houses with low supply. I get that you want it because you hop on 5 hours a week, but shouldn't someone that plays 30 hours a week get them instead? They'd have WAY more fun with it than you.
  17. The calculated regressive tax bracket would see you paying $15,390 a week, instead of $27,000. The regressive bracket proposed is linked in the original thread. It would definitely need more players' and PM's input, but I really think we're onto something here.
  18. Should that be the case, or should holding two houses be disabled entirely?
  19. If they do transfer it over to apartments, that'd be a discussion for a different time. Right now, I see little reason for that to happen. Thank you. And you're good for doing that, but many other people don't have that courtesy. This suggestion aims to automatically ensure that we don't rely on good will and enhance the market in general. I know it sounds ass when you own houses, but when you're aiming to buy and you finally get the freedom to actually purchase a house for $ because the real value of houses is now hovering to their monetary value, you'd appreciate it. Businesses. My diner alone makes around $600,000 a month, then another $200,000 off the mortgaging company I run, then there's the illegal profits off the schemes me and my faction run. I don't mind sharing my own financial information, but I feel like that'd derail the topic too much. Add me on discord if you want to know more. maramizo#8220
  20. Taxation isn't the issue. This isn't some sort of IC metric. This is literally an upkeep equivalent that's mainly OOC to ensure that due to the limited supply of properties, they're not being hogged by people that don't use/need them.
  21. 1. Firstly, apartments are unincluded. Read the bold text on the thread. That said, well planned parties make 150,000+ easily. I remember the yacht party we threw and made around 200,000 from entries alone. 2. I hope people start selling houses at MP, lmao. That means that players won't have to go through PM, and that availability will be solved. That's wishful thinking. Houses will still be hard to get, but this should tip the scale a bit. 3. No one is meant to hold onto anything permanently. In a perfect system, everyone only holds onto things for as long as they're using them. That's the point. 4. Ad hominem. My character makes a lot of money. 100k a month would actually be nothing compared to his income. Does this make literally any difference when looking at this thread? No. The stats do. Mine are but one among many.
  22. It's calculated by the script, and should effectively be in the /pinfo information. That way it would say: Weekly tax: $X.
  23. These literally include this very suggestion of a weekly tax, lol.
  24. Heya, the actual excel equation to calculate the percentage here would be "=IF(A1<=35000,12%,12%-A1*0.000006%)".
  25. I do have a house. Please do not turn this thread into an ad hominem and stay on topic.
