  1. Not to be Negative Nancy but I don't think giving the opportunity to players to travel between the two servers will help much with the "population problem". Ultimately they're still going to be two servers (and with a delay to travel from one to the other) so the population will still remain split and lower than if there was only one server/community. That said, as a player on LC who used to play on LS until 2018 and then abandoned it completely, I don't believe LC has a population problem at all. Even with 50-100 players you regularly encounter people in the more densely packed map, and although this might be due to a general lack of interiors/businesses/houses as people are still mapping them, the general vibe of the city is a much more vibrant and busy one than LS ever was in my recollection (again, stopped playing in 2018 so things might've changed after that). The Los Santos GTA V map has always been a bit too large in my opinion for any amount of players to make it feel "alive", but on the flip side it has its advantages in a greater variety of environments than the metropolis that is LC can ever have. If it were up to me, I'd keep the two servers as separate as they are now - merging them and the characters/assets (if not immediately, eventually) will only further destabilize economies and introduce issues. But I can understand if it gets to a point where it would be not feasible to keep running two servers, things would need to be re-thought. In which case my totally biased opinion would be to not close down the LC server xD
  2. Your name still shows up in notifications. For example, when I left a comment on a Weazel News page post, it warned me with a notification that my comment was replied to. In the comment itself it showed up as Weazel Corporation posting the replies. But in my notifications it was telling me "<Username> replied to your comment" or something like that, so I knew who specifically was answering me. This is probably a bug, but if you want "total IC anonymity", you'll need to create a second account or people will see who is behind your page somehow.
  3. I don't believe steering makes my point invalid at all. You don't need to steer to drive in a straight line, but you do need to press the throttle to do so. Now mind you if you try to RP while your car is driving itself in a residential area full of bends at 100mph ... you're not going to manage, of course. But if you're doing 30mph along a relatively straight route, you will have time to open the chat box and type short comments or emotes between one steer and the next. Whereas having to release W will not give you enough time to type anything worthwhile before your vehicle stops. I've seen this working and used it before. It works. ADD: Not sure what the op meant, but that is what I understand with cruise control
  4. Cruise control is not the same as speed limiter, though. Speed limiter stops you from exceeding a certain speed, but you need to keep pressing W or whatever your throttle key is. Cruise control would allow you to completely let go of your keyboard/controller and make the car drive itself in a straight line at the speed you give it. This is similar to having a /walk command in a vehicle, and it is to make it possible to emote and chat while driving without having to awkwardly stop in the middle of the road or pull over every few minutes. For example you're driving down a freeway with friends in the car - so you turn on cruise control and let the vehicle drive itself while you chat and interact with your passengers, occasionally turning the vehicle to navigate. I would love to see a cruise control option, because IRL you can drive and talk or do other things at the same time ( although doing distracting things is not suggested )
  5. Maybe they can make it so that tapping "F" would make you enter as driver, and if you want to go in as passenger you have to keep "F" pressed for half a second?
  6. +1 This is especially painful with 2 seater bikes because the area you need to be in to get in as driver or passenger is more overlapped. Resulting in my badass biker frequently mounting his trusty ride "wrong" and having to get off and back on again after taking a few steps forward to get in front of the bike.
  7. Changing clothes in game does not take time "to make it realistic". It takes time because you potentially need to scroll through 10 different options just to get the one you want to wear. The optional parameter takes nothing away from the functionality, but simply adds a shortcut to make things a little less of a hassle (like typing "/as" instead of "/anim stop"). So I cannot fathom any reason to be against this suggestion. You're free to emote every single item of clothing you're taking off and putting on with a /me if you prefer to take your time when changing clothes ;)
  8. @Aquila if you have 1 gmail account you have practically an infinite number of e-mail addresses. This is because gmail is "period-blind" meaning it removes all period "." characters from its calculations. In simple terms, if you send an e-mail to [email protected] and another email to [email protected] they will both be received by the same account. This means that you can use your gmail address with a different number of period characters in it for each of your alts as they are considered different e-mails by FB but not by gmail. This is what I do/did for Blaise and the 3 business pages I used to manage so it works. Furthermore you don't even need to remember how many dots each alt has cos you can log in to FB with your username for each account.
  9. Congrats on official status! Keep up the great work fellas
  10. Omedetō! (Meaning Congratulations... I hope lol)
  11. Taking someone's point to the extreme in an attempt to invalidate the point is not the best way to win an argument. Especially when you don't even do it right. Allow me to explain: #announcements is restricted and only certain people can post there. It therefore requires no moderation and has a specific purpose that is relevant to the server and community - to give people who use Discord quick updates on important things that are happening. #suggestions does not exist? I think you mean #support, and in that case, see the above point - it gives people who require support a quicker way of getting it than posting a forum thread and waiting for an admin to see it. It is good for small things that can be done quickly. #cryptotalk is the closest you got to having a valid point. It has no real purpose of existing in the community so it could very well go and it'd be none the worse around here. But, unlike politics and religion and other "hot topics", most people are not emotionally attached to cryptos enough to start an endless war in their name (yet?). Much like sports and music, it is a fairly neutral topic which a larger amount of people can discuss like mature adults or, at the very least, agree to disagree on and move on with their lives. So I see no need to remove it. And as regards to "not fixing what is broken", #politics is clearly broken. Notice how it has already fueled an ongoing feud between players that were told to stay away from each other, resulting in a member of one side being punished and a member of the other being verbally warned. I believe you yourself are the latter?
  12. Whilst I appreciate the libertarian view and your idealistic approach to give everyone their right to free speech... I do not think it makes sense in this context. This community is about Roleplay. It is not about politics, religion, sexuality, sports, music or a million other things. And while all of these things can be interesting and/or fun to discuss, I believe there's a time and place for everything. You don't grab a six pack of beers and a bigass bag of chips and go discuss last night's football game at the town church/temple/mosque/whatever. Just like you don't go preach the word of your deity at the local stadium during a match. If you're here it means you wish to RP, or at least it should. There's a million other dedicated forums and chat rooms where people can go discuss any other topic under the sun. But this community is not the place to discuss random sensitive topics, imo. We're just putting unneeded stress on admins trying to moderate more places and fostering needless drama between players (current or potential) of this server. Believe it or not I have been thinking of posting this suggestion for a number of weeks now, after noticing that it was rarely moderated as you said and quickly turning into a cesspit. I took the lazy/egoistic approach and simply muted that channel so I didn't have to look at it (not that I did often, mind). But yes, the recent report and action taken against a particular offender of the channel's freedoms did spark my rekindled interest in the matter. Simply because, as I stated further up, it only leads to pointless arguments and drama. The time spent debating in that channel and reporting people when things inevitably go south could be much more constructively used elsewhere. Such as, you know, roleplaying. See above. And here's a counter argument: Like discussing politics? Find a proper place where you can do that with other individuals interested in doing the same in an environment dedicated to do exclusively that. You'll have a much better time, trust me. This is like going to order a cooked burger and chips meal from the grocery store when there's a Burger King branch right across the road.
  13. Posting this here since it doesn't fit in any of the sub forums imo. Simple suggestion: Remove #politics channel from the GTA:W Discord and ban political talk from the other channels. Reasoning: Politics, much like religion, is a rather personal subject some people take way too seriously. And guess what, if you're looking to have a serious and mature political debate, you do not go looking for it on an IM server for a roleplay community. #general is bad enough with the trolling and the failed attempts at comedy. Why shoot ourselves in the foot by having channels that have absolutely nothing to do with the game and just tend to get needlessly heated? It just gives a bad image of the community to newcomers to see a channel full of people arguing over stuff that is, frankly, extremely off-topic.
