  1. Definitely needs to be removed from chat and emotes at least. I also kind of agree with changing it to Y for youth, since my mind kind of automatically thinks M= Mature like game ratings lol
  2. Disagree, retextures are pretty quick and easy to implement, and can make some existing clothing look WAY better.
  3. I agree that it's awkward to RP, and kind of immersion breaking. But I've seen admins tell people that they're not allowed to NPC parents, even something like saying a parent owns the apartment you live in. So it's kind of hard to navigate.
  4. That's the only reason to do any RP, really. I was never advocating for money grinding, I was just speaking to the risk vs. reward issue that was brought up.
  5. Back like a year or two ago, it was very frowned upon and even sometimes punishable to /vpark a vehicle unless it made actual sense to have it removed from view (i.e. you have access to a garage to park it in). Now I see people constantly /vpark after parking on a curb or in a parking lot, just to walk inside. Cars also are frequently /vparked by admins in entire areas to help combat server lag. So you combine this with the list of cars you get every server restart, which on a good day has maybe 3-5 cars worth stealing on it. You then drive around for literal hours sometimes, just trying to find one of these couple of cars unattended and not /vparked. Then you hope it's not in a safe zone, in any kind of populated area, or in too plain of view. Then, if you manage to actually find a target, you still have to contend with the fact that half the cars in the city have elaborate security systems that realistically would almost cost more than the car itself. All this for what usually amounts to a few thousand dollars in the thief's hands. It's a huge, time-consuming risk for very low reward. The only people that even bother to attempt it any more are the ones that do it because they enjoy the RP, because it's a very unproductive way to actually make money. All this to say that yes, the current system is extremely imbalanced, and pretty much needs a total re-work.
  6. Fair enough for the most expensive anti-theft option, but what about the cheaper ones? It seems more realistic that those would have the sort of GPS tracker that are much more commonly found, wouldn't they?
  7. I feel like you're being a little patronizing here. Yes, I've changed an oil filter, what does that have to do with anything? I'm trying to see where you're coming from, but the more I look into it, the more I only find things that seem contradictory to what you're saying. For example, a simple google search for car gps trackers turns up lists like this: https://cartreatments.com/best-car-gps-tracker/ Literally every one of those is either powered by it's own battery (which is not continuously charged by the car battery, as evidenced by saying things like "2 week battery life, so you need to keep an eye on it" "Great 7 day battery life" etc. OR it's powered by the OBD II port, which means it's getting power from the car's battery, and does not have it's own power source aside from that. You can look through the Q&A and reviews on the products to see that when they're disconnected from the car's battery, they do not function. I'm sure trackers like the ones you describe exist, but your claim that all trackers are like that now just isn't true. Those seem to be the exception, more than the rule.
  8. Is that really common though, and what the average person would have? Because when I was looking into them, it seemed like the vast majority of affordable car trackers for the average person run on a rechargeable battery. A longer battery life seemed to be a big selling point for most of them.
  9. So are they RPing having to remove it and charge the battery every week or so, or do they just get to say they installed a GPS that doesn't use the car's battery, and also never has to be recharged or changed? That doesn't really make sense.
  10. To my knowledge, most car gps trackers that are actively running are either running off the car's battery and electrical system, or they have their own battery that needs to be charged every 4-5 days. So realistically, the people that RP having a GPS system that they literally just install and forget about it, leaving it constantly running, have ones that draw power from the car's battery. Doesn't this mean that simply popping the hood, and disconnecting the battery should be an acceptable way of disabling them?
  11. Punishments escalate as you repeat offenses, though. Maybe the first time you do something, you get a warning. The second time you get an ajail. The third time you get banned. If there were no records, or if they were wiped every so often, that whole system would stop working. Someone could keep doing the same thing every few months, and just keep getting warnings and no actual punishment, despite the fact that they're fully aware that they're breaking rules.
  12. If they're going to do this, they should just parcel out all of the most 'in-demand' donator perks to be purchasable on their own. I, for example, don't care at all about walk styles, and never use them. But I'd definitely pay for a month of exterior furniture by itself. Or a month of being able to do /bad blips.
  13. The argument keeps being made that the crime rate on the server is way higher than it is in IRL Los Angeles. But what about the other side of that? How many LEOs do we have on the server? What's the ratio of LEOs to civilians? I can already tell you it's exponentially higher than real life. "Currently, the LAPD has approximately 9,000 sworn officers and 3,000 civilian employees. That is one officer for every 433 residents." You can't compare illegal RP to real life while ignoring the fact that by the same measure, there's a wildly unrealistic ratio of cops around at any given time. It's just how RP servers are, most people want to RP as either a criminal or an LEO, because it's fun. Most people don't want to get on an RP server and only RP doing things they do IRL. And there's nothing wrong with that.
  14. A shortcut command like /rf would be nice too, since we're going to have to be typing it so much.

  16. I really like that they added the minigames, since it makes it something you can actually practice and get faster at. I hated that it was randomized before, and someone that was picking a lock for the first time could potentially do it easier and faster than someone who'd done it a hundred times before. It doesn't change that people still need to RP it out, it just adds a realistic element of challenge, and getting faster with experience.
  17. My character will buy all of your party drugs, thanks 🤗
  18. Selling my Komoda with several performance upgrades and body mods. It's a very fun and well-maintained car. Asking $150k Call or text 5891, or reply here to get in touch.
  19. I don't think cherry-picking one particular aspect of the server to compare it's proportions to real life gives a very fair view of things. Yes, the crime rate on the server is way higher than it is in real life. But so is the ratio of LEOs to regular civilians, so is the percentage of people that are truckers, etc. The fact is that in real life, the VAST majority of people lead pretty uneventful and boring lives. Most people don't come on an RP server to RP going to work sitting at a computer all day, then go home and play video games for a few hours, eat dinner, and go to bed. They come to have fun, and make interesting stories and experiences with other people. The effect of this is a much higher proportion people having more 'exciting' or interesting lifestyles than you would see irl. This falls on both sides of the legal spectrum. I think that picking out random stats to compare their ratios to real life is kind of pointless, since almost every stat like that is going to be very different to actual life. And in general, that's what makes RPing fun.
  20. But what you just described happening is literally handling the situation ICly? A robber won't come meet you at the police station, so you don't get robbed. Problem solved.
  21. Yes? All alcohol doesn't taste the same. If I order a mixed drink and it's made with vodka, I can tell, and don't like it. I prefer rum or tequila for those. I don't see how anyone who drinks even slightly regularly wouldn't notice their drink being made with the wrong liquor, let alone something like beer or moonshine.
