  1. I think it's definitely OOC rulebreaking and powergaming. If you order champaign and are given a glass of moonshine, you're going to know without needing some drink tester lol
  2. The measures you can take to prevent this are the same IC as IRL. Whether you're responding to an ad, or someone's responding to yours, meet by the police station, don't bring extra valuables or cash with you, bring friends, etc. It's also good to talk to the person on the phone a bit, so you can pick up their vibe. If they're just trying to rush it, balk at meeting somewhere safe, or throw up any other red flags, just pass on it. For the record, I've never robbed someone from an ad, and despite selling several things, have never been robbed from posting one. I refuse to meet with people who give me a bad feeling, and make sure to take precautions. I do think it's completely manageable IC.
  3. People getting robbed while trying to sell something on Craigslist or similar sites irl is unfortunately pretty common. That's why they'll tell you to arrange to meet in the police station parking lot, or somewhere safe like that. Why don't people do this in game, if they're worried about it?
  4. I'm curious if you live in the US? This seems very... dramatic. Owning a gun is not at all a big deal here. Most of my family owns various firearms, and bringing a pistol or two when we go out camping or something like that is not unusual. Aiming and shooting a gun is also not exactly rocket science. I've shot a few different types of guns, and was literally just shown how to load and use them in a few minutes before doing so. Regardless of whether or not it's a good idea, the fact is that irl guns are easy to get, and easy to use. Edit: I forgot to respond to the idea of needing secret spy-movie type places to store them. No, you just... keep them in a safe, like a normal person. And for taking it out and about, it's not unusual at all here for someone to have a gun in their glove box, or purse, or whatever. Concealed carrying does require a license, but you can walk around with a gun visibly holstered on your hip if you don't have it.
  5. Thank you for making this free, I can't wait to use it! ☺️
  6. You seem to have missed the entire point of my post, and are still claiming it's unrealistic. I guess if you've determined that is the truth to you, there's not much anyone can say about it. I'm not sure how I "called you out" or did anything other than join the discussion in the same manner everyone else has. If you can point to where I called you names, or acted like a "kindergartener," that would be helpful in understanding why you feel the need to respond this way.
  7. You continue to have such a narrow-minded outlook on these types of characters. There are SO MANY reasons a young person in a gang would refuse help getting out, and to boil it all down to the player "oocly wanting to shoot people" is honestly insulting. In the case of a character I had recently, she WAS basically homeless, and ended up feeling like she found a family in the local gang that pulled her in. Obviously this was extremely unhealthy, and she suffered plenty of abuse and trauma... but to a troubled teenager, she felt like she finally had acceptance and people that had her back. The gang became everything to her, and she was extremely loyal to them. The reasons a young person in a gang-infested area might not want out can include loyalty to the people they feel like are their family, pride, enjoying feeling like they have some sort of power, fear of repercussions to them or their family... the list goes on and on. You don't seem to have had much experience in this sort of RP, and that's fine, but it doesn't make it okay to call it 'unrealistic' just because it doesn't follow your limited understanding of how people should act.
  8. If this were true, why are there still so many homeless people irl in cities that have plenty of access to these types of programs? I think you may be oversimplifying the situation. You imply for example that if there is a program that could help a homeless person get a job, they absolutely would jump at the offer, and anything else is unrealistic. The sad fact is, a lot of homelessness is caused by things like drug addiction, and mental illness. You think an addict is going to want to go get a job where they'll be drug tested? There is a lot more nuance to these sorts of situations than I think you realize, and it's not fair to say that any deviance from what YOU think they should do is poor RP.
  9. I'm generally a fan of people being more descriptive, and when I'm only RPing with a couple of people, I usually do longer /me's. That being said, stuff like this in the middle of a crowded bar just feels silly to read:
  10. ((No, it's not 3x everything combined. It's 3x market price, THEN the cost of furniture and the business script.))
  11. Maybe people should... open other gas stations, then? There's a whole faction of college kids, there are loads of people that RP regular civilians in less dangerous parts of town... Why don't any of them ever work part time at a convenience store? I don't get people being salty at the one gas station actually opening and providing RP. Be the solution you want, and open others.

  13. I live near areas with a lot of gang activity, and there absolutely can be 5 murders in 2 hours. I think you're underestimating how violent gang conflicts can be. Fights and even people being shot down in public are definitely a thing. As someone who sometimes plays characters that live in that area, and even work at that LTD, I can tell you that bad RP gets reported there just the same as anywhere else. Making it "crime-free" would completely ruin the immersion of the area, and would take away a lot of RP. The kind of RP you enjoy isn't necessarily the same as what everyone else enjoys.
  14. I'd argue that furniture slots are a much bigger incentive to donate than XMR
  15. Thank you Nervous, that's all I was asking for was an admin to state it clearly.
  16. @joshua Thanks for the insightful contribution, but it "literally" doesn't.
  17. We can go back and forth forever, with one person saying the penal code means you only have to stop to other cars, and the next saying you have to stop at every red regardless. The point is that there is disagreement and confusion that needs to be cleared up by those in charge.
  18. Why have you reposted the same bit of penal code that we're talking about? It clearly does not say "You must come to a full stop at a red light," it says if the light is red, you must "stop to other vehicles." This is also known as yielding. To your edit: Yes, it does need to be settled by management, that's the whole point of everything I've posted lol
  19. You slow down and yield at red lights, you don't have to come to a full stop if there are no other cars around. This is what the admins and server owner say, and what I believe the penal code says. I DO think it was written in a way that left it open to misinterpretation, but yeah. Either way, this needs to be fixed to state it one way or the other.
  20. The thing is, even the penal code doesn't say to come to a full stop on a red light. It says that at a red light, you are supposed to stop to other cars (aka yield), which is exactly what Nervous and another management member stated. This was after the lights in the server were synced, by the way. All I'm saying is that there is a lot of miscommunication around this, and it needs to be stated clearly what the law is. The PD members saying that it is unarguably true that you have to come to a full stop at every red light are unfortunately just incorrect. This needs to be stated more clearly than it has been, so there's not so much room for interpretation.
  21. See, I have no problem with PD enforcing traffic laws, and having to remember to pay insurance. I was just making the point that PD needs to get on the same page as the management as far as what the rules actually ARE, otherwise it's just frustrating for everyone.
  22. This is cause for some confusion on the server, I think, because you will literally get a different answer about traffic lights from every person you ask. On the one hand, you have cops pulling people over for not coming to a complete stop at a red light. On the other hand, you have the server owner himself saying that you don't have to: https://imgur.com/a/f1uK30M This should probably all be clarified a little better, if people are going to be getting tickets for it.
