  1. First of all it's Grand Theft Auto, not mister Jones is looking for a job, secondly if I wanted to work in realistic settings, I'd just turn off the computer and go to work. Besides the immersion is far more greater outside (no savepoints or voiding rp). Any roleplaying game sadly needs scripted or least heavily controlled economy, simply because people ruin it cause they can.
  2. User: JLixx Comment: Why those city officials are lined up there like a mafia entourage waiting for their share is beyond me.
  3. User: Guest#234581 Comment: A vile city complaining about one of theirs, priceless.
  4. Every year there are less and less roleplayers given the origins go way beyond computer games back to 60s, 70s. Every year less and less people seem to be interested in roleplaying as those generations are slowly being replaced, But that said, pushing for quality is only viable option if you have numbers.
  5. The system is kinda limping imo, even now modding requires having a mechanic on site. And not just any mechanic, but a mechanic employed by the faction running the garage if such. Therefore, mechanics should have the authorization to add and also remove mods from any car, not just their own using the "vdup" command or something like that. Although the prices for the work are just for roleplaying purposes actual modding remains scripted. Which is something I personally would like to see gone. You want mods, you leave the car in the garage and mechanic will install it. But of course while it is more roleplay friendly, it is also not really recommended. Simply because of abuse of prices, thus open for how to get rich schemes which is not rp-friendly. Be the system as it is now, I'd suggest either to lower mod prices and give mechanics exclusive access to them, Or advise people to buy stock cars via player run dealerships if they don't wanna modded ones. Cause yes if you buy a modded car and you want mods gone, you either do that at your own expense or pay some more and get the stock one.
  6. Sadly that is the problem not just here. People inherently are reluctant when it comes to spending money for roleplay purposes. Not everyone though but nearly all businesses are hit by this stigma. I myself am guilty as charged, for saving up for a car I thought my character would be entitled to, as a mechanic and racing enthusiat spending her days around cars or behind the wheel. But I had my own share when it comes to roleplay experiences mentioned above already. As a real estate agent, my aim was to advertise properties for sale on behalf of other people for a small provision per property sold. At first I was suprised people were actually interested in such, that came to pass literally overnight, when they remembered that selling properties on their own require no provision. Of course not, said provision was a consultation fee, much like for therapists and lawyers, despite the small detail that I was offering actual profits, negotiating prices, setting up budgets for people interested in buying a house or an apartment, perhaps even a garage. Sadly it all begun and ended in my head. Least the planning was fun if nothing else. When it comes to lawyers though, if there was an actual court, with even the slightest chance to influence the impact, I think people would fight over good lawyers. We have many law offenders (not exactly criminals) after all. There is an idea, which will not come to pass anyway, but still...the garage is working nicely, with one difference, if people were only allowed to choose what they want done on said car. Then the mechanic would not be just paid for the roleplaying it out, but also enabling and installing actual mods on the car. But I doubt it's possible, I am not a coder after all so I have no idea. Though this could be applied literally to any business that requires some scripting, providing players with something apart from roleplay for their money.
