  1. RPQM putting effort without people having to report anything. More focus on the RPQ rather than sitting on M.
  2. To be fair, I've been suggesting this for a while now. This server should start developing its own lore. The server has been up for long enough, for the state we live in, to have its own development. Too many things are out of place in comparison to real-life LS. A majority of the population being male. A majority of the female population being lesbian. A population being extremely rich. People of different areas visit areas they would not normally visit or even belong to. I can go on and on with things that are not normally seen in LA. What I suggest is that we stop comparing ourselves with real-life LA and just go with what we have. Acknowledge what we have and what this city/state is made of. What we have doesn't have to be necessarily good, but it can work if we stop comparing it to real-life LA, and become a unique entity that had its own upbringing and development. One thing is for sure, what is going on with the LS demographic in this server, is not LA.
  3. Yes I agree, admins shouldn't hold everyones hands and tell what to do, but that's not what I'm talking about. Yes in an ideal world where people are willing to learn and improve, people would step up their game and admin would be lenient as long as players show progress. However, it doesn't take much observation to reach a conclusion that ITS NOT WORKING. What I am actually talking about is pretty simple. There's an authority in the server that doesn't want to be relevant, and thats RPQM. Server is advertised as Heavy RP but it's not. You said it yourself (quoting you again). You're a decent enough roleplayer that you wont do that. However, that's only you and a few others. Majority here gets away with it if allowed to, and they're allowed to. I won't repeat this again. Breaking the rules should always be high-risk, high-reward. Nowdays is just low-risk, high-reward.
  4. All good. At least you read it again. 2 supporters tho'.
  5. Never blame the players for the quality of roleplay. The standard of roleplay drops cause it's allowed to. Bad RPers are allowed to roam the server cause they're allowed to. Even myself, after 15 years(if not more) lately I find myself doing dumb shit, because the roleplay I get to witness on the daily is the same, and I've grown accustomed to it. Don't mention Heavy RP anymore while in this server. I see bad roleplayers all day, and poor RPers constantly, but I would never blame the player. The player is allowed to, hence what the player does.
  6. I think it was 2021. Senate elections were just concluded and the senate was 1 week old or so. It took admins less than 1 week to force the new senate to pass a bill OOCly. We were forced to vote YES on the Hunting Bill. It was around the time that the hunting script came out. Just elected senator, I was immediately turned off by the intervention, lost complete motivation to continue. Plus I was promissed no OOC interventions. I not only stopped RPing but also completely stopped visiting the server. There was no room for discussion, I had ideas on how to make the hunting script stay and not force the bill OOCly, but I was refused. Funny thing is, when I asked if I can vote NO just so I can feel better about my morals, I was told by the fellow senators, that they would take that ICly. An OOCly foced bill, was gonna get me IC consequences. So yeah, sucks.
  7. Forget everything else in this server. Legit just this one. The reason I quit this server was cause the RP standard was too low. You would watch all the weirdos who were supposed to be banned, be unbanned. The report sections would get crowded. Change those and you might get actual roleplayers in the server instead of self-projections.
  8. Good shit boys! You were never really appreciated for your worth in this community.
  9. My bad. I should've used less sarcasm and be more blunt. It's been around 5 years or more for this server, and if this is the topic we're discussing after all this time, shit has hit the fan when it comes to quality of RP.
  10. Listen, wild take here. How about you stop making topics about how things should be Roleplayed? If you're looking for proper RP this is no the place. Just roll with it.
  11. Okay my sarcasm might've not been the most obvious, but if you noticed I mentioned facts instead of wishes. The server/worlds IC demongraphic is exactly as I said in my previous post. So yeah, none of what we have now doesn't really resemble LA.
  12. I don't know about Utopia dude, but I'm all about the concept of losing the relation the server world has with IRL Los Angeles. The world as it is now has nothing in common except the map. Socially, economincally, sexuality ratio, population gender ratio, crime rate, normal human behavior, human to human interactions. clothes to weather/temperatures behavior, policeman to civilians ratio(especially in protests)...the list goes on and none it has ANYTHING to do with real life LA, or tbh, any city. So yeah...idk, im down for this virtual world of ours to have it's own lore and be free of being based on any IRL CITY or GTA:V lore.
  13. Please spare me. It's not an assumption, it's a lived experience. PM is a hassle to work with. I've experienced the interactions myself, and I've witnessed it happen to others. Like a business was literally named with my full name, and after losing it to the amazing rule of inactivity, I had to reapply with 250 words when I could just say, "well it was mine, and I'd like to resume the roleplay". I swear I'd rather have another player snatch it and just buy it fromhim ICly, than interact with PM. Same is with trying to explain an unique concept beyond the application. Meaning the application is flawed and requires further OOC work to make someone understand.
  14. You say if the player is willing to work with you. Why would anyone like to be micromanaged by people who are not neccessarily smarter or educated on the subject, but just rather had a good behavior, never had an argument, and now hold of a position of "power" in the ranks of PM? See how that's not fun?
  15. Demand and supply. People want they want. Majority wants high end stuff. There's this argument you can make about majority not knowing what they really want and rather flow with what's offered, but that's hard to believe. The server has been facilitating this kind of roleplayers for years now, that brings nothing but ERP, cringy social interactions, high-end lifestyle, and none of it is HEAVY RP. Hell, even high-end places allow anyone to enter the place without filtering the clientele by dress-code or wealth, cause all they care about is the money. You can try and pin the problem to IFM or PM, but its alot more than that. It's a lot of things that are poorly managed, starting from the server economy, bureaucratic property applications, leniency in RP standards, characters with flawless traits and rich at their 20s. My suggestion is just roll with it or quit the server, cause you won't find what you're looking for here.
  16. Facebrowser helps facilitate heavy-rp. 80% of the population being lesbian is totally realistic. The admins take their rules very seriously and don't lift bans 2 hours after they've issued them.
  17. No dude. Please understand that civilians are perfectly fine. If they're oppressed by illegal RPers it was mainly because of ooc roleplay rules and poor RP standards. In the case of PD vs Illegal RP, what is OP is the RPG elements and also PD using IC voice coms. Therefore when someone uses the term "balanced" it's because that's the correct term to use when mentioning RPG elements. Not because it's an MMORPG. Gun damage, fire rates, top speeds, turn rate of vehicles, and much more, are all RPG. That's the explanation. As for the rest. If civilians are scared to roleplay outdoors because a RULE gives the edge to illegal RPers, then the problem is with the rule, with the person that drafted the rule, and keeps allowing it to happen. The roleplay quality standards have exponentially dropped ever since the time that GTA was free for grab in EPIC Games store and that's what caused the oppression of civilian characters by the illegal side. With factions(illegal or legal) who are good at filtering bad roleplayers out, the civilian RP scene is met with an increase in numbers of shitty RPers, that outnumber heavily the good civilians. The same happens with people who want to RP criminals, but good illegal factions do not allow them in, resulting in these roleplayers poorly executing robberies and killing on their own. Now mash it all up together and the outdoors is left with an unmatched number of shitty civilian roleplayers, shitty criminals, and LEO. And I don't want to blame anyone who doesn't have a green, red or purple name, but this is all a product of constantly decreasing roleplay standards, and making a mockery of the rules that they made themselves.
  18. I honestly don't have an answer for you. Civilians are supposed to be vulnerable in face of life-threatening events. Their only way of protection is carrying licensed guns and law enforcement coming to the rescue. I'm not really fond of RPG elements myself. I've always felt oppressed by PD as illegal RPer tho', and made me turn to legal-civilian RP ever since. I try to stay away from any kind of scenario that might make me use the menu more than the RP lines. That's when shit always gets hairy.
  19. I realized I might've been unclear. What I mean is, our characters, be that created for a faction or not, should have a personality and set of skills to begin with. Or maybe a PROFILE might be the right word to use. I find it awkward to create a 18y/o but with the prepration of a baby. For example. I created a character who was a 35y/o film director, pacifist, empathic person. That's my character. However, I wan't to have options available without ruining my character. I decided to look up ICly suitable opportunities. Part of the flow was working with City Gov for short film competition. Part of the flow was teaching film at ULSA. Part of the flow was also brainstorming with Doppler Cinema. See what I mean? Keeping a profile.
  20. I mean. I agree with everything that you said. Literally. I just don't wan to shit on factions in this topic.
  21. Dude, who even mentioned factions? Are you trying to lash out to some faction on personal vengeance? I'm talking about normal human stuff. You wake up, go to work, go to school, try to get richer, happier, whatever you want. You name it. We're specifically talking about stricty CIVILIANS characters who merely exist to go clubbing at peak hours and roleplay indoors with their circlejerk.
  22. The thing is. general background is who your character truly is. The upbringing up to the point of the characters creation. Family, friends, work and set of skills are what shaped your character. IC events are cirumstances that determine whether your character succeeds or fails. Either result it's respectable. That's what IC events are. Not some way of changing what you do for a living every 2 weeks. In real life, we all try to have a purpose and reach our goals. Take that away and you're left with a cops and robbers + dating simulator server.
