  1. Server wasn't ready for the expansion. CS shouldn't have opened up, the County shouldn't have been hyped the way it was. We've barely just peaked 100 for almost an hour.
  2. This is approved by PD STAFF Team.
  3. I don't see a problem with it if it is an easy thing for admins to refund over UCP?
  4. Or you can just Launch GTMP in general and connect from the "Quick Connect".
  5. I don't think an actual language conversion is needed. I know it sounds a little ridiculous, but having maybe some key words that are Spanish (using as an example) that can be easier to dictate but I wouldn't say having a [Spanish] flag and it actually spits on Spanish language symbols. That way you actually avoid people who are using Spanish or using OOC knowledge of Spanish, to understand Spanish in the game. For all I care, it's just a mumbo jumbo of text. Spanish could be a ching ching chong chong que encrypted type of deal at the end of the day.
  6. Agreed, I am having troubles dictating for my department what they should be wearing with respect to the weather. If we could have like a /temperature meter to tell us how cold it is, it would help to dictate what kind of clothing to wear too, to emphasize on roleplay.
  7. Nah i had Entrust VPN installed so that was the cause of the issue. Thanks!
  8. You could have language instructors but I think it'll involve a lot of creativity to do. I think for starters unless we have a long-term plan of how languages can be implemented from a better perspective, maybe make it such that players can start off knowing max of 1 language from the getgo or if they choose to enroll into "courses" that helps them learn the language. This can be evaluated through maybe an available script job or just something like having a dedicated Language Instructor who can do these logistics. These language instructors can be paid by courses but then admins will need to monitor to ensure no abuse of quick learning, etc. Maybe after you can have a max of 2 languages beyond English that you can see down the road?
  9. Yeah, or you can have in the UCP function of what languages you know and then decide to tie it back from there should a player decide that someone is powergaming a language. Cause it goes back to the fact that, who is it to say that you can and can't learn a language? There's a heavy reliance on script to determine some things versus just using your imagination to take on things. I'm quite sure Missi would have some comments to the matter as well, given that this is something that she suggests to improve the quality of roleplays.
  10. By making a script to have your character only know a certain language upon learning it. Whether that would be a course that the script does or have a max number of languages you can learn, let that be.
  11. Because it is starting to come up as a concern for roleplay and powergaming opportunity that every player is able to learn every language or that you don't know what player knows what language. What is stopping me today from using just language tags to say I know all of the languages? Who is it to verify and who can say that I can't learn or can learn something? The other spin to it I would say that perhaps the only language we can speak on the server should be strictly English and no other alternative language tags.
  12. Acknowledging the fact that sometimes people can just decide to speak any language they want with the assumption that they understood it, is there a way that we can maybe have like 3-4 different language sets (let's say apart from English... Spanish, French, Chinese for simplicity sake) and that if a player who hasn't actually learned the language, it would be encrypted text to them (kinda like WoW and when orcs speak to Humans) but if you did learn it, that text would appear up. Is there a possible way we can introduce this? This would solve the issue of those choosing to speak a different language yet combating powergaming on a script level.
  13. Hey All, Anyone know the issue where your steam crashes when you're at the Library tab? I can't seem to launch any games because of that. More importantly, it is because I cannot launch games. Any ideas? I tried searching on the Steam threads but no answers.
