  2. Hey everybody! Some of you might know me, I'm Oggy and I'm one of the people responsible for adding mods to the server. As many know, we usually do not create mods from scratch. We edit mods, we create the DLCs and make it ready for the server. So far our focus has been on minor fixes and vehicle mods, but we are hoping for that to change ? One of the big things, that was added about six months ago now, was the clothing update for the Sheriff's Department, Fire Department and the Police Department. It is the biggest DLC on the server and sadly, due to the addition of these uniforms, some people lost access to some items they were used to having, due to Rage:MPs 255 clothing ID limit. With the 1.1 update for Rage:MP, this issue will disappear. This already means, people will get access to a lot more clothing items than before, and some old ones will re-appear. We are looking forward to that already. Due to this, we are now starting to plan out a clothing update for when 1.1 is released and with it, we want to add more items for everybody to use. And this is where you come in, cause we do need your help. There are a ton of mods out there. There are also a ton of people, who are working on mods and textures, specifically for clothing. We need your help finding some of these mods in order to maybe add them. One thing I want to make clear for this topic, this is not a discussion / debate topic, whether or not a mod should be added. We would love to see everything suggested and then we can go and compile the mods from that point on. Following mods can be suggested, you should however be aware that we have not figured out a technique to make them add ons yet: Sunglasses Hats Pants (For some reason, they tend to not spawn. We will try to figure that one out.) The rest, just post it. The more the better. I just need everyone to understand, that posting mods is not a guarantee they will be added. It depends on size of the mod, texture and whether or not it fits into the game. Also, we are only looking for clothing items as of now. Hair is something we will be looking into at a later date. Body mods is not something we are looking into as of right now. Clothing only. No "asking to create" requests. Links! INFO FOR FACTIONS: Requests for your faction specifically, need to go through FM. Legal Factions still go through Legal FM. Illegal factions should be going through illegal FM. Should you be directly interested in working on clothing specific mods, feel free to reach out to me. Thank you all ? - Oggy

  3. I'm not representing the LSPD with this comment, but I'll share my personal opinion as I've been dealing with these cases on the server for the past three months. For the points you mentioned, unfortunately, that is not as easy as it sounds like. I agree on the fact that the punishment for this type of crime should be harsher. Investigating cases such as extortion and racketeering require a good amount of knowledge and patience. While the act of extortion is simple, proving this in case/court files can be extremely difficult. There is criteria that needs to be met for racketeering and extortion charges. A detective thats keeps himself busy with these sorts of cases needs to have extensive knowledge and interest in protection rackets, fencing rackets, loan sharking rackets.... OCG's, their structure and ways of operating etc... Not everyone has the interest in this sort of roleplay. A single (major) casefile on extortion takes alot of time and effort to investigate. The problem here is that most of these suspects do this on a day-to-day basis. I don't think this is an IC issue. It's an OOC issue. The community wanted high standards for the LSPD. This is what the community got in return. There is a decent amount of detectives, but internally I think there is a huge lack of interest in this type of crime solving, because it asks alot of OOC time, patience, knowledge on the subject and skills. As a solution I think there should be OOC rules or limits in place as to how many businesses a certain person or faction can extort if this issue is to be solved. This way, the LSPD will have time to properly investigate/complete a case. I'll quote what Ink said, because these facts are on point and pretty much sum up everything:

  4. I've lived in the United States my whole life, have owned businesses, and have a pretty diverse OOC network of people across multiple states/cities who range from owning businesses to being involved in questionably legal businesses. You know what is not a threat any average business owner in Los Angeles has to deal with? The god damn mafia showing up and asking for chump change. This isn't the 1960's. That era is over. This isn't the heart of New York City in the early 90's. In the real world--at least in the most developed parts of the world--the consequences are just too high for extorting businesses. It would make no sense for criminal enterprises of any degree of professionalism to engage in petty extortion of corner shops, corporate-owned 24/7s (like what?), and so on. Real life organized crime syndicates these days engage in far more profitable and far more easily hidden criminal revenue streams, and use legal businesses to launder the income. This isn't Serbia. This isn't Russia. This is a representation of Los Angeles. In the United States we have a highly sophisticated, competent FBI who is dedicated almost entirely to combating racketeering. Our legal system is not thoroughly corrupt like it is in many European countries; if the FBI catches you on racketeering your ass is going away for 10-20 years at minimum. If you go and smash up a business and get caught, you've just served to expose your associates and bring heat on your organization, and for what? I've seen people in this thread purport that extortion is "unique" roleplay. I will respectfully disagree: there is nothing unique about it. It's generic, it's boring, everyone does it, it's been on every GTA server since the beginning. It requires virtually no creativity. It doesn't create roleplay, it's a blatant display of hijacking people's roleplay. From what I've seen on this server (especially with the recent case of two legal characters being CK'd over extortion after having paid and had the price ratcheted up on them and other families come to extort them), extortion is just a one-way street to having your character treated as an ATM or otherwise harassed, beaten, threatened, sabotaged, or CK'd. This isn't fun roleplay for the people on the receiving end of it. It's not dynamic roleplay. It's scripted and for the average legal roleplayer there is no recourse. Saying "this is an IC issue" is reductive because our game world lacks the same consequences that would realistically be in place for extortion. With how many people are extorting and how much stuff the PD has on its plate, it's unlikely there is any real opportunity for legal characters to actually get real investigative help. Unlike in real life where extortion would almost always be met with successful police action and safety for the one being extorted, in the game world a person reporting extortion is just an excuse for the faction to escalate the roleplay. Summary: Extortion roleplay is unoriginal, lacks creativity, is little more than bullying. It takes advantage of unrealistic parts of our game world and exploits them to give criminal characters an advantage in lieu of finding interesting, organic, and creative ways to portray realistic criminal enterprise. Currently with extortion almost all consequences fall squarely on legal characters who did not opt-in to this treatment, while very little consequences present themselves for the criminal roleplayers. It is a blatant disregard of IC fear of consequences on behalf of these criminals who know OOCly that the odds of them getting in any real legal trouble are slim, and criminal roleplayers fragrantly hide behind the CK system to allow themselves to clean up any roleplay they make a mess of. This type of roleplay is an incredibly unrealistic portrayal of the United States in the modern year and represents something more akin to developing countries or far more corrupt nations on the other side of the world. I will finish with a scene from the Sopranos which summarizes this well enough. Notice how these two fine gangsters do not proceed to say "let me talk to da owna or I burna dis coffee shoppa down an' killa you a wife."

  5. I think the problem with the whole situation was the lackluster response of "Oh my character is troubled" which is probably the vaguest excuse that you can give for something like that. If you want to say your character is trouble, have something to send to the admin to back it up enforce that it's an IC issue and not you just jumping out and mag dumping someone because they tapped your car and you wanted to shoot someone. That being said, even then, it shouldn't be a blank check for people to play fuck fuck games with their character. Are there missed opportunities for bad shoots on this server? Yes - absolutely. They're missed OOC and IC all the time. Is that a missed opportunity for a bad shoot scenario instead of what it was, which was deathmatching? No.

  6. Would love to see iGhoul's clothing modifications added at some point, maybe excluding the actual IRL branded stuff but hey, sure that can be sorted further down the line. From THIS point on my reply might get a little messy so forgive me, either way here we go... https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/mp-male-emergency-outfits ^ excluding all the military looking stuff there's a nice pack of tucked in simple t-shirts I'd love to be added, used them in SP and they're fine for the most part, here's a screen or two. BOTH these hoodies: https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/modified-hoodie-for-mp-male https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/modified-hoodie-2-for-mp-male (One's already on the server, it's just restricted to PD for some reason so hey, admins get on that!) These shorts with textured socks, think the IGhoul has something similar but hey, more the better right? https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/cholo-style-high-socks-for-mp-male-fivem-sp Nice leather jacket converted from SP https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/michael-leather-jacket-for-mp-player Both these for male and female https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/hooded-track-for-mp-male https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/hooded-track-for-mp-female 100% need something like this too https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/mp-breeze-jacket I'll be sure to edit this reply if I find any others I'd love to be added, was gonna post the majority "-CREATIONS-" mods but I'm sure everyone'll beat me to it.

  7. Preach, there's nothing that ruins immersion more than having to deal with some 90's Sopranos mobsters coming into your publicly open business to "Speak to the manager" and then rough him up in front of everybody because they're both ICly and OOCly untouchable. You go to the police and Jimmy Two Fingers is back in your business within a week to put a bullet through you for going to the cops. And this is a daily occurrence. If this was to happen sometimes I could take it with a grain of salt and figure out its just people portraying unintelligent criminal characters on purpose for fun. But unfortunately, it really isn't. Why are criminals not allowed to shoot someone in the middle of the street in daylight even if there's nobody around? Because realistically it would be a busy street. (That's the argument always given when you look at reports, you have to RP realistically and simply because there are no actual characters around to witness your crime you're still expected to RP and pretend like it would be a busy street) Why are criminals allowed to extort your business openly, visibly and with no regard of their personal safety. Because our Los Santos PD can't do anything about it effectively? But would the same standards apply now as to where we would HAVE to pretend like the police is powerful to ensure for meaningful, immersive and realistic roleplay because this is a large city? Why are we working with double standards? The people who keep claiming to solve this ICly are also the same people who wouldn't take a CK if their character finally ran into the wrong person to extort and gets himself killed over it. It's worrisome how much of a play to win attitude they have whilst trying their best to hide it and come across as if they're sitting on their high and mighty horse. Come down off of it and work on a solution with people who suffer from horrible roleplay like this so we can improve things for everyone and not just for a select few. Enforcing realism is good in the long run and will steer the community in the right direction on the long term.

  8. Update 1.9.3 Additions Added a new fire system to replace the existing one, random fires will be disabled for its release but /requestfire is available to all players New players can now create and customize their characters while their application is getting reviewed but will not be able to roleplay / interact with anyone Improved our ban evading detections which led to 50+ bans this week only of active players who were ban evading (which led to a small decrease in playercount) Banned players can now connect on the server and will be placed in a "banned players" special dimension where they'll not be able to interact or speak with any legitimate players. They will not be able to roleplay / use properties / businesses. This special dimension might not last long but I was curious as to how it would be used.

  9. Short description: Currently, if you say "no" to the people who came to extort you? They can kill you and burn down your business. Like really, they can do that. That is really unfair towards the other party. They cannot do such damage to the extorting party. The business party should be ABLE to CK the people who are coming up to extort them. Detailed description: Right, so we all know how "Extorting" works on GTAW right now. The extorters always have upper advantage on you. If you say yes? They get free cash from you every week or every day. It depends on them? Anyway, if you say no? They can kill you / burn down your place. BUT.. the question is.. what shit you can do to them? Nothing, you can just PK them or snitch them to cop (Which rarely works) The business party should be able to CK the extorters so this create more FEAR in their faction. Right now? The extorting RP is not really the best. You say no, they burn down your business. If you kill them? They come back after a few days with more people. The people who you killed? They will be back too, eventually. The same circle again. So.. that's why we need something to do the same damage. Commands to add: N/A Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? This would make the things more fair for both parties. The extorting PARTY is really OP right now with only advantages.. Additional information: This is just common sense and fair play for both sides. If you hate this? You're probably part of illegal faction and you don't want any risks for your character when they approach business owners to extort their ass off. Some highlighted points from the thread.

  10. Hello everyone. Upon discussing with some people of the community, I found that this is a common complaint for people. When working roleplay jobs, as we all know, you have to be either; Actively putting /mes out every minute, or, Actively typing something out every minute in IC chat, so that the one minute timer doesn't stop counting. These are the rules regarding active roleplay shifts as far as I'm aware. These two rules create some problems for the people working non-script jobs such as; Having to put out /mes that either make no sense or written for the sole purpose of keeping the timer active. People spending several hours on job, only getting paid for that 1 hour of active roleplay during worktimes because customers were scarce. Thus turning the roleplay jobs into something of unrewarding, tedious processes. A rebuttal you may come up with to those complaints and problems; Roleplay jobs should not be for the sake of money, but roleplay. You shouldn't be getting paid for standing around anyways. I understand these come-backs. But let's look at the real-life counterparts of "roleplay jobs" and answers to those rebuttals; Even if you're roleplaying the job, for the sake of roleplay and not money, this doesn't mean it's supposed to be something you should spend your whole day for some RP possibilites and get rewarded for a small portion of the day. Promoting roleplay should be number one priority, that should come with rewards. If you were wroking a retail job, a kitchen job, a tattoo artist etc., you wouldn't get paid for 1 hour of work for your interaction with customers, but your time spent there. Now then, what could be done regarding this, without promoting idling after you /startshift? Maybe; Rework the timer system so that the timer doesn't stop for several minutes after you put out a /me, maybe 5-10 minutes. Decrease the time required for active roleplay timer wage. Let the /me or actively typing IC increase the time spent by longer intervals. Example: Each /me counts as 5~ minutes going towards your active roleplay timer. Considering how some script jobs such as Garbage Man pay 3.1K for ~20 minutes of no roleplay, I believe actively roleplaying for 60 mins straight without missing a beat should either be made easier or more rewarding. Thank you for taking your time to read and your in-advance constructrive criticism or ideas of your own. Excuse me for providing wrong information if I have any regarding the rules.

  11. • Physical evidence of copyright infringement (intellectual and trademark, etc). • Lore concerns, for a lot of players. GTA has its own lore, and introducing and legitimising real-world brands through mods would go against that. • Re: Music, suspension of disbelief. A lot of major brands in GTA have a real world analogue. The rest is really down to interactions and whether or not a player you're speaking to recognises what you're talking about. Workaround: If the creator of the mod holds no rights over their work via the website or personal notice or disclaimers on the items, trademarks are very easily edited out with a little touch of photoshop. So the items can still be used, but logos and brand-names can be changed. It's not a big deal.

  14. Short description: Having both "LS GROUND" and "LS TOWER" active at LSIA who are just in-charge of that sector. Investigating Pilot Deviation reports, and enforcing aviation regulations alongside the other government factions. Investigate crashes. Detailed description: Adding an ATC faction in LSIA with a working tower building to see the entire airport grounds and aircraft who are approaching the airport. Enforcing proper phraseology when entering / exiting / engine start up / departing / taxing / holding short etc. You may say whats the point aviation traffic is on a low. Adding this I think will greatly improve it as well as add another interesting job with all the others!! ATC can also publish charts for anyone who wants to start RPing IFR instead of VFR flights. Proposing teamspeak to be used for radio comms as well as a third party program to get a map of all the air traffic to which you can see where they are in respect to the GTA World map. Commands to add: /transponder on | /transponder off | /ident (( blimp will flash for all active controllers )) | /atcduty on/off | /lsia atis (( ATC can type of a full atis report so pilots can get all the airport info )). Items to add: Adding FAR [Federal Aviation Reg's, and making an AIM or Aeronautical Information Manual for all to view]. How would your suggestion improve the server?: Pilots will have more immersion now that their is someone on the other end of the radio. Additional information: I think aviation RP will greatly improve if we add this into the server because of ATC. Their will now be a voice that pilots will have to speak to as well as published procedures to follow when approaching and leaving the LS Sector. Lets make aviation RP Heavy!!!!! Immersion will increase!! Added FAR's Example: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kEV595owr8ZgdLKJ5JrIWiWPZqU7EdPLTi6NI_odruo/edit?usp=sharing Added ATC manual draft v1 https://docs.google.com/document/u/2/d/1aC1ENBMitET8EyOPXmVieOq2ZsLpn0tw2RAbu_py9LQ/mobilebasic

  15. I don't want to derail this thread further, but as for proof, I can provide this. Here's a direct quote from part of the CK app, and had this been false I don't think the CK had been accepted, there are screenshots of the event taking place but as those contain sensitive information I can't show those here. And ontop of that, here's proof of said CK app being accepted with that as part of the reasoning. If you still think this is all lies, then you'd need to make a staff report for corruption. Hopefully that answers all questions, and to keep the thread on topic I will personally not be speaking on this specific matter any further, if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

  17. This is just not the case. People don't seem to understand how illegal roleplay works at all. If you're closely affiliated with a criminal org and speak to the police? Yes you will be CKed, if you're a random civilian who's being extorted? No. To add onto this, if a criminal CKs someone because they've spoken to the PD about them being extorted, do you really think that won't give the PD or the once investigating it a paper-trail back to them? Before making bold statements regarding criminal roleplay you should contact someone who roleplays as such and get both sides of the coin. To summarise it. No. Criminals won't CK someone they've had little to no interaction with just because they spoke to PD.

  18. Why can you not kill a person in broad daylight in West Vinewood in the middle of the street even if there are no characters around to witness the crime? Because realistically speaking, this would be a busy road. So yes, you have to use a bit of your imagination to roleplay realistically. What argument do you want to give? Maybe we should hire more PD officer so that we can cover every single street with a patrol cruiser? Or perhaps we should force civilians to roleplay walking up and down roads? It sounds like you're literally roleplaying a city that has 600 people walking around the streets at maximum at any given time and it has come to the point where your responses and arguments are so incredibly silly. The same applies to the city in terms of policing, realistically speaking PD would crack down on this. The FBI would crack down on this, people would have to be very careful on how they extort and who they extort. Right now, this doesn't happen and people just go knocking on every door they come by. It's like how people before the bugs and devices update didn't roleplay being nervous of this phenomenon and now suddenly you have everybody sweeping rooms and refusing to speak illegal business in doors. They're clearly taking OOC information and applying it to their roleplay. The EXACT same way people are portraying these extortion's so poorly because there are barely any IC or OOC repercussions. It is very obvious that the way people are roleplaying extortion is completely out of proportion and it is no longer a even and fair playing field. This is not something that can be solved through IC. It's like saying "Oh we should let people death match each other because PD should be arresting all these people for murder and handling it in character" Some rules are created to enforce a certain amount of limitation to create a realistic environment. This should be one of those things as it is clearly a very provocative action and has clearly gotten out of hand drastically without regulation. As a matter of fact, I would go as far as to argue that if you try to extort someone (initiating a hostile act) and the person refuses to, and you continue going on and eventually leads up to that persons death? It should fall under the deathmatching rule as it clearly states: Killing another player without or with poor reason to do so. This also includes you provoking others, followed by performing aggressive actions such as shooting or killing and (or) the provoked party ending up dead. If someone extorts you and you respond by going to the police, if they come back to punish you for this it is clearly due to their initial provocation that you were forced to respond to.

  19. Short description: Add a function that allows the player to choose wether a certain furniture piece has collisions or not while furnishing. Detailed description: Pretty simple, when managing furniture, in the same menu where you can sharpen rotations and duplicate and all, ad a simple function that toggles the collisions of the furniture on and off. It is pretty known that the seats in most interiors are far too close to sit normally on them, so you either have to leave comically large space between the seatd and table or you have to awkwardly sit sideways or sit on air. With the addition of this function (which is availble in RAGE:MP btw I asked), we can fix this problem easily. There are no cons in this except maybe when somebody exploits the function to have an invisible door/passage to a secret room through a wall which can be punished for if it's not justified or properly RP'd. Commands to add: Just the function under furniture editing. Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? This will improve things drastically visually, no more floating sitters, no more sideway sitters, no more ontop of the table sitters either. Additional information: N/A

  21. ATC User Interface Wheel Short description: Add a wheel for ATC Comms Detailed description: See below Commands to add: Items to add: User Interface Wheel same as animations How would your suggestion improve the server?: Would improve flying safety and user experience overall Additional information: Aviation RP has really "taken off" as of late and one issue I've run into while flying is that I just don't have the ability to type fast enough to get a long ATC message over the comms while maintaining control of my aircraft! Other, faster typers may not have as much of an issue with this but I know it would be a welcomed change if we could revamp the ATC/Comm system to a faster and safer method. First and foremost I'd request that we make an exception to the "no bind" rule for pilots (anyone in an aircraft, really, so that you could be a pilot in training or a co-pilot). This would be the fastest and safest way to communicate, I believe. However, if this weren't possible (and, even if it were, really) there's another alternative that could serve as a neat and effective middle ground: The ATC UI Wheel. The wheel would be exactly like the wheel you use for animations, and just as customizable, but for the purpose of constructing a message quickly and safely, minimizing the time away from the controls. Let me explain: https://imgur.com/CTOM5Pq So, looking at the picture we can see how this would work (don't think to much about the specifics of the example, it's just for proof of concept) 1. You'd choose if you're taking off, landing, or performing some other maneuver, perhaps ascending or descending, etc. 2. Say you choose to take off, the second wheel would come up with the list of airports and helipads (that you could customize based on your preferences, just like animations), in this example, LSIA. 3. The third wheel would come up listing the possible runways or helipads that are available for takeoff (or landing if you'd be landing) So on until you have constructed the full message as required. The code required to implement this would look at the information about the aircraft itself (like the N number) and add that into the message appropriately. At each step you'd have a 'back' option and at the end of an acceptable message you'd have a 'send' option where the code would construct the message based off your input and send it off. It sounds complicated perhaps but really it's just clicking through a small number options like a flowchart instead of having to type it all out and lose control. This would conceivably be able to handle most of the common calls one would perform while flying, with only a small number of outliers remaining. Once the pilot gets familiar with their own personalized layout they'd be able to use it much more effectively, safely, and quickly than typing it all out. Plus it would guarantee they don't forget information and that it's all in the right order. EDIT: Added the template that I forgot (sorry!)

  22. Yeah, definitely and I think they should. Hopefully in addition to this new wire thing being added, things will slowly start to change in that area. Because in reality extortion is a pretty hefty crime and you can be seriously fucked over if you catch a case and get federally charged. Definitely, you're right. I believe there should be harsher punishments in regards to extortion. While it definitely still happens, those that are caught for it generally end up spending atleast half of their lives in or dying in prison due to gang violence.

  26. Extortion in and of itself is common. However, what I always suggest is to have a valid and realistic escalation. Coming in to say "Hello, please pay us." only to "Well, they didn't pay so we burned their business and killed everyone that came near it." is just a very unrealistic portrayal. Come in, offer people your 'services'. If they refuse, give them reasons to think they actually /need/ your services. Send people to ruin their openings, smash windows etc., have them think that security is necessary. Burning a place down over that is overkill and unrealistic.
