  1. With the inprisonment of a highly ranked Russian Mafia member, the Eurasian Task Force of Los Santos were expecting a steady decline in Eurasian criminals. The thought process was that with the mastermind behind the massive organisation gone it would all crumble apart and fail to infighting between the higher-placed figures within the unit. For a while, their expectations seemed to prove fact - but the high profile murder of a leadership figure from a crew based in South Los Santos seems to have shaken up things, with the dissapearrance of the assumed actual leader of said crew just some weeks later, things seemed to have completely turned around with certain invidividuals stepping up to pick up the pieces. A return of an organised Eurasian criminal element in the West Vinewood area and a group based in Morningwood has put the Eurasian Task Force on alert. Little Armenia - Morningwood Historically the Morningwood area has been full of Eurasian immigrants, primarily Armenians followed with Russians and many other nationalities which have multiplied exponentially after the fall of Soviet Union. The area was run down, but far away from the ghettos that many came and settled by themselves or with their families. Morningwood slowly but surely became a place where Eurasians could feel at home, with more and more settling by the year and their own stores and culture becoming a bigger part of life. Unlike most immigrants, Eurasians were mostly left alone by local authorities, especially in larger groups like those in Morningwood, who worked hard to provide for the families they brought with them. It is no secret that Armenian neighbours are a much bigger influence on Eurasian crime than their northern counterparts. The Crew The West End Crew originates out of the Morningwood area, but they are believed to have fronts and rackets in surrounding neighbourhoods and districts. Purportedly, they are involved in extortion, money laundering, document forgery, drug trafficking and many other criminal activities. The group would use their legal fronts to launder the cash gained through illegal activities. If previous information on certain figures within the group is to be deemed truthful, the group has little tolerance for disobedience or outside attention drawn towards the group. The West End Crew’s network of associates are believed to enjoy a certain degree of autonomy from a central organisational structure similar to the one put into practice by many of the ‘Bratva’ type gangs in their country of origin, though little more is known. If sources are to be believed, there are several central leadership figures followed closely by a tightly knit unit of loyal soldiers who are followed in authority by a loose collection of associates - all based on respective levels of acclaim within the gang. None of the information above is to be taken as fact, however. OOC Section The faction aims to portray modern day Eurasian criminals in Los Santos that may be immigrants or second and third generation individuals from any Eastern European background. We also aim to roleplay a realistic faction that also has a life outside crime like any real criminal and expect people to create roleplay for themselves to make their characters more realistic using the faction as an extension of their characters. If you are looking to join this faction, it is strongly recommended to go for second and third generation characters of any of the previously mentioned backgrounds. Upon joining the faction you are consenting to a CK at any given time for any reason that the leadership may deem fitting.

  2. None of these are owned by players and were added on the server as part of that expansion. While looking at the map which I am going to provide a snippet off, you may notice that these are all marked with a "L" which stands for "Later". What this means, is that they were (and are) not to be made available on the free market. They were simply added for the purpose of covering the area and not having to go back to add them at a later date if we were to find a purpose for them. Hopefully this will give you a bit of insight into the way Property Management is working when it comes to expansion plans. You may see from the /pinfo screenshot provided (these are all identical, so I'm not going to post every single one of them) that none of these have an actual owner, a value or even a interior. So, I fail to see how this proves a claim of PM handing these out to "our friends". Next time, just ask us instead of making false claims based on assumptions to farm reputation on the forums, please.

  3. Complete and utter bullshit. I had the luxury of growing up around people of significant wealth. I have a relative who is a VP at a fortune 500 company working in trucking and logistics sector another was the President of North America for one of the largest hotel chains in the world. The ONLY characters who have come anywhere close to RPing wealth correctly are the Busch brothers. Funny that you two get denied a house in Rockford hills but there are people who have those properties IG, simply based on their relationship with Property Management. I'm sick and tired of people using the same old "Nobody will RP it correctly" excuse when (And I know this is pretty rude) a majority of you have no IDEA what people with actual wealth acts like, especially businessmen.

  5. Ultimately, people should be picking a job that's relevant to their character. If the only intention is to grind it out for the cash, buy everything you want and then bail - then you're not roleplaying. Plain and simple. So yes, grinding out fishing, trucking, garbage collecting or whatever low-tier script job is available and then knocking around in a Cheetah "because I have made the cash for it" when it doesn't make any sense for your character to do so is inherently not endorsed. If you want to roleplay being wealthy you should at least concoct a story that makes sense, not just "I fished for 200 hours, my character can afford this fancy car now" - when realistically they wouldn't be able to.

  6. Dare I suggest the idea that role playing wealthy doesn't necessarily need script money? Some people seem to be placing weight on how much is earned weekly versus how they are portraying their character. I don't need to make 80,000 or 120,000 a week to role play rich. I don't need a fancy car to role play rich. Sure, as I mentioned before, some people love to show off and brag about their riches. I would honestly prefer to role play a character where you'd never know they were rich, but were in fact loaded. I have an IRL friend who is a multi-millionaire and you'd never know, especially since she likes to buy her shoes from a Pay-less discount shoe store. There are plenty of people on this server who have hundreds of thousands of dollars, but still role play their characters poor because that's what they've established as their backstories. The script money is just that... script money. You can choose whatever you want on how you portray your character, regardless of how much or how little script money you have. Just put some time and effort into crafting an awesome and detailed backstory and progress your character realistically according to how you've established their background. Portray your character's attitude with finesse & class or with tons of arrogance and showboating. Maybe a little of both? There are so many avenues, but just put some effort into it. "I worked hard as a mechanic and now I drive a Cheetah" --- is not a good example, for the record.

  7. Actually, I see a lot of misconceptions in this thread which I can try to clear up from the Property Management's perspective, as we seem to be the ones being painted as the villains in this particular scenario. Let's start with the obvious first one here. During my time in Property Management (which is about a year now, I think) and as far as I am aware in the time nobody has been awarded any houses in the Rockford Hills area by Property Management. Nobody. Now, I am not sure what has been told to the Busch family to make them believe that the reasons for not getting them are specifically because of their roleplay, but I can assure you that is not the case. We are simply not offering those types of houses to anyone on the server for the time being, as there are no ways for us to distribute this in a fair way. Nor do we have the manpower to evaluate every single player looking for one of these properties in a proper fashion. I can not speak on what will happen in the future and I am not going to come up with any blanket statements to fully eliminate anything, but housing in Rockford Hills is not a priority for the time being. So on that note, I am going to keep this thread open for the sake of discussing definitions of how to portray wealth in a realistic fashion, but I would suggest lowering the torches and pitchforks when it comes to finding a scapegoat for why this and that person didn't get a Rockford house. Because the short answer is; Nobody got a Rockford house.

  8. I believe, scientifically, that this will go far. So far as to re-identify entire mollecular structures. However, I hope and pray that it does not go so far enough as to interact with our Sun which would assuredly ignite and then evaporate our solar system. Because, as Plato said, it would then become impossible for both myself and those I hold dear to interface with members of this community on a personal level that amplifies my in-game stature. Thank you for attending my lectu- O-oh! This is fire! Setting the bar no doubt!

  9. Haven't the Busch brothers done that? They've run a company for almost a year, a company with ten employees, which in a server that averages 150-250 players is actually quite big. They've got accountants, managers, secretaries and of course they have truck drivers. There's also no abuse of the mechanic on their end, the company its self makes very little per delivery so what these guys are doing is providing a service to the community. They've built an actual company that you can work for that isn't a nightclub conglomerate or garage. There seems to be this unfounded fear in the community that if these properties open up, somehow RP quality would decline. But I raise this question, By forcing everyone to live in the middle class or lower parts of the map, regardless of their wealth how are we improving RP quality in those areas? There are people who own three houses in mirror park and have 4-5 cars, wouldn't we rather have those players buy one, INCREDIBLE HIGH priced house in the hills? Giving the server low, middle and upper class communities. Providing the opportunity for businesses and RP built around that community? I wouldn't give a fuck if I saw the GTA version of a Ferrari parked outside a mansion in Rockford but outside a middle class home in mirror park? Come on...

  21. Very true. But, finding a faction that's a good long term fit isn't so easy when somebody's character doesn't fit into the usual popular concepts. There's also the issue with timezones. Usually when I can play there's only about 80 people on. Divide that into the usual factions and the indoor rpers, and there's just not too much going on that I can jump into. Like other posters have said, most events aren't publicly advertised, and there are good reasons for that. The whole server showing up is one, and the whole server shooting it up is another. So, for players who aren't in a faction, who don't have a lot of IC connections, and who put a high priority on keeping things consistently in character regarding who their characters would hang out with, it's not so easy. Facebrowser was good for its interest groups, so what about a interest group section here on the forums? It could be in the IC > Internet section, and call it Los Santos Meetups or something. There people could post IC activity/interest group related threads about whatever they're interested in, like bicycling, music outside in the park, or whatever they want to do, without those posts getting drowned in unrelated posts in the online news & blogs section. People responding to those ideas (or not) would show how many people are generally interested. Even a few people can do something together. A personal ads section would be good too, for people to post what their characters are looking for on a more personal level, like 'hey, where are the youths hanging out?' or 'let's get together to hit up some clubs this week'. An OOC character interest section would be useful too, where people could put up 'rp wanted' posts about the kind of rp they want their characters to get into or what crowd they want to hang out with ICly. And, these ideas would be better implemented here on the forums than Facebrowser because they would be centralized in one place and easier to find. There are a lot of these types of threads here already, but they are mixed in with the news, advertisements, and announcements. It might be helpful to separate them into their own dedicated sections.
