  1. On Facebrowser, there's a bunch of singers, people who upload songs and say their character sang it. This is perfectly fine imo, and I'd not want these people to stop doing that. However, it's a bit less acceptable when there is no reference to the real original creator. In my opinion, they should post in brackets, ((Original creator is XYZ on Youtube)). I've seen people do this before and I think that's the best way to go about it. Whether or not this is actually a problem is of course up to debate, because there's arguments to be made against it, such as characters IC being content stealers, that kinda stuff. Fair enough. But there are also cases wherein it's not debatable. Disclaimer: I have nothing against this person and I'm not trying to report them, I don't want to report them, I'm just using this as an example because it was the easiest to find. Facebrowser user Sada (https://face.gta.world/timeline&u=Sadas&ref=se) has been uploading songs and claims they are her own. What she's also doing, is putting these songs up for download on her website https://sadagtaw.wixsite.com/sada . This is illegal, and GTAW's name is on it, which might be problematic, I dunno, I'm not a lawyer. Either way, this is piracy. Distribution of the content that's not hers without any credit to the original creator. So, the suggestion is to implement a rule that prevents people from pirating other people's content. When claiming something someone else made as something your character made, at the very least just put in a little OOC credit thingy. People put real effort into these songs, it's common decency above everything else.

  2. While, the issue may seem small.... I do not see the reasoning behind allowing people to offer work in /ads, but not allowing those looking for work to do the same.. Forcing them to use a forum system or a in game system that a solid majority of us never even look at. Not only does it make the people, who need such help; lives harder. It also makes it harder on the potentially new player who is theoretically posting their resume, and work experience. "24 year old with skills in the automotive industry looking for work" is a reason to be kicked from the server, yet someone who is already established is free to solicit as they please? It's contradictive... And it caters to the communities "founded" members who do not rely on such ads.. I assume it is because someone, with plenty of money and RP, is tired of seeing it... When I see ad's for someone looking for work, I try to at least get them to the office to have an interview, and potentially gauge their RP.. This contributes to their overall interaction, and as a new player, it means something.. Not allowing someone to post sexually related offerings is one thing, but an all out ban is a broad approach to someone RPing listing their resume, as you can find within the classifieds section of many niche news papers all over the US. You do not hear "Looking to hire a bartender" - OR selling a used car... On the radio during your morning commute to work do you? So, essentially, /ads would be symbolic of you reading a news paper and looking in the paid classified.... My solution... Ad a /wad (LFW ad, call it what you want) that is available for people to post LFW advertisements (resumes) as well as job opporunties.. Going further, make all add types toggleable to end the argument about people not wanting to see it. Frankly, I don't like seeing my screen filled with realestate and car ads... But I know its essential, as is looking for a RP Job! In my opinion, we are making (potentially new) people jump through hoops to appeal to those who may not like seeing someone needing a job every 20 minutes... But at the end of the day, I don't like seeing club advertisements every 3 minutes either, and I am sure a lot of people feel the same way. I deal with it because It is a staple part of a roleplay server, and it breaths life.. It let's you know that their is something going on, or someone hiring, and ALSO someone is looking to contribute to RP via offering their skills/labor. Overlooking the jobs section of the forums shows a wealth of posts that have little to no reaction... While I know that if I was to post an appealing "resume" ad IN GAME, I would surely get at least one call. And the /I job system.. Hell, I've played here over a year, consistently looked for help during my projects and just found out about it after overlooking a discussion in the forums that mentioned it. And now that I know, I'd still much rather be caught off guard and read it in the chat.. That's the point of an ad.. The only thing it is doing is unrealistically handicapping players from succeeding in game. 90% of a lot of peoples (As I cant speak for anyone else really) time is spent in game... So why make someone go to the forums and risk potential exposure by those who may miss it? And the last thing is... If anything, can we get an explanation of why we are targeting these ads but not others? Why is someone looking for work an issue?

  7. Early Life James Martorano came to life on the night of 28 September 1990. James was born into a middle-class family in central Philadelphia. His father William Martorano a second-generation American Italian who was working in construction as Foreman and his mother Teresa was an American stay-at-home mother who loved her kids and wanted to take care of her four children. James had an older brother, Philip, by 10 years which he idolized and loved since a very young age and two younger twin siblings, a brother, and a sister. The two older brothers had a loving relationship without any jealousy and ill-feelings, Philip always protected and took care of his younger brother James and James took care of his William growing up in a mob-riddled neighbor himself and frequenting the local hangouts, showing up late back home, it was no surprise within the household that he had ties with the local crew. Him growing up around the Scarfo era and being one of the older-heads of his time was well-respected under the Stanfa crew. In 1993, William was murdered during the Stanfa-Merlino conflicts. This put a lot of responsibility on Philip who stepped into his father's shoes, meanwhile James always despised of the life, his father & pressure it bought up on the family. Teen Years James had a hard time growing up along with his siblings since life got really difficult for them because they had no source of income. Teressa was forced to work day and night and Philip dropped-out of school and came in contact with the mob in an attempt to help with the money. James didn’t take it well, Phil working for the mob, doing exactly what their father did and died. When James came to age he enlisted so he could get a chance to get away from it all and fight for a just cause. He started at the lowest rank and over the years he kept getting promoted, climbing up the ranks. James cut all ties with Philip only kept in touch with his mother whom she gave most of his paychecks. He deployed mainly in the middle east, fighting the Jihad and he was trying to be away from the states for as long as possible. Meanwhile, Philip got convicted back in the states for five years. The Last Decade Through the years James was getting promoted constantly for showing great character and holding the army standards to the highest. It didn’t take too long for James to join the 75 Ranger Regiment as Staff Sergeant, commanding his squad. James ran countless missions in Afghanistan and few in Syria with a supportive role in the latter country. During his last mission, James and his squad were after an HVT(High-Value Target) rumored to be a bomb-maker. Charlie squad, the one James commanded, entered the HVT building and took out several hostiles silently, only to get rushed moments later by several suicide bombers, most of which were kids. James commanded the execution of all the hostiles. James and his squad survived but a part of them died during that mission. It wasn’t long after the mission that James resigned and he was honorably discharged from the corp. James got back to Philly for a year, reuniting after a long time with his mother and his two siblings. James was fighting insomnia and even when sleeping he had a hard time staying asleep for more than a couple hours. Recently Teressa told James that he should reunite with his brother Philip. James didn’t want to stress and hurt his mother he sold most of his stuff and decided to relocate to LS.

  9. This thread will follow the life and times of Erica Vickers from age 14 and up Background Erica grew up in East Davis in E/S 99 MCG controlled territory until the age of 14, her aunt & her female cousins are members of the Mafia Crips gang. Erica's family is Haitian and mostly come from southern states in the USA. Though that may be the case, Erica still has family within Los Santos County, primarily in South Central Los Santos. Although gangs may be the downfall of many family members of hers in the city, she managed to avoid picking sides for most of her life. Erica's family time living in Chamberlain Hills was short-lived after her father was let go from his job. The Vickers family ended up moving to Dominguuez Park in North Rancho. During the Vickers' family time living in the crummy projects of Dominguez Gardens, her parents started to give up on life, primarily due to Erica's absence of care for herself. It was not long for the prongs of heroin to make addicts out of Erica's mother & father. In an effort to keep the apartment afloat, Erica began selling her own drugs to help pay for the rent. Although she was helpful to her parents, she was often met with great physical hostility from her father, who would often put hands on her when he ran out of heroin to get high on. Screenshots Synopsis Erica went from hanging with Alexis Washington and W/S Palm Drive Pirus in Chamberlain Hills to hanging with E/S Bounty Hunter Bloods and E/S 99 Mafia Crips in Davis. Erica surrounds herself with gang members very often and encounters many events of gang-related activity, she witnessed the brutal E/S 99 MCG vs E/S RTOB war. While roaming the Davis streets, she meets Kerderius "Brisko" Ware in E/S BHB's hood and the duo became close friends and more recently in a relationship. Kerderius re-introduces Erica to drug dealing after she faces back to back hardship in her life and in return she takes a gun charge for him to show loyalty.

  10. Short description: TL;DR: Mechanics are making way too much money to be realistic in any way. Detailed description: One of my characters has been a mechanic for quite some time and my characters do know some ICly. Some mechanics are earning between 30-80 grand a shift, which is far, very far, from realistic. This should be cut down by a zero, down to 3-8k an hour. Instead of giving a cut of the parts someone's buying to the mechanic, a big part of said money should be going to buying the said car parts, as the garage needs to buy them too and doesn't just have an infinite stock of high-value aftermarket parts for supercars and so on. I'm sure this will cause a lot of crying, but it's not realistic for a mechanic to become a millionaire in a few shifts, it's very, very far from that. Commands to add: -//- Items to add: -//- How would your suggestion improve the server? It'd simply improve realism and fairness. Additional information: None.

  11. Short description: I've seen people put custom rims on their vehicles and they all have low profile tires, meaning very thin tires, which in most cases, certain types of vehicles, such as a muscle car, would have thicker tires to facilitate the extra torque and the burnouts they have, and drift cars, or tuners, would have less traction and more rubber in order to prevent the tires burning out so quickly. Detailed description: I've noticed that everyone and their mothers have thin tires, unless they choose to use stock rims, which isn't very realistic, especially on some vehicles like muscle cars, or the more drift type cars such as the Futo. To facilitate having more rubber so you don't burn through your tire and end up with cracked or buckled rims for your vehicles, you'd choose to have more rubber and thinner rims. So, I have come up with the idea (and I have heard people talking about this in the past as well, it's not just myself) to add a categorization to the different tires within the mechanic shop menu, so rather than having it numbered with the same rims, you have to choose to go for "Muscle" rims for instance, as you would within GTA:Online or GTA V's base game, meaning more variety on rims, as well as having off-road tires for the vehicle that would have them and not just the same set of rims on everyone vehicle. It would also be nice to have colored rims as well, but that may just be pushing it, and some people argue that would be tacky, but done right and colored rims look very nice, however I would make another suggestion form for that in itself. Commands to add: None, it would be to add tabs onto the mechanic wheels menu. Items to add: Other rims and tires from GTA:O and possibly, in the future, modded ones as well. How would your suggestion improve the server? It would add variety to peoples vehicles, and if someone has a Sultan that they bought specifically for off-roading they would be able to put off-road rims onto it in order to avoid confusion between the fact that it can or can't go off-roading. And for the larger trucks that are more often used for such an act, you could have a different set of rims for them, and rather have the tiny pieces of rubber that would snap like a guitar string on the slightest of sharp edges. 13. Short description: Increase the price for rental vehicles to... let's say 1000$ / hour. Detailed description: 100$ for one hour is extremely low considering the server economy and how much everything else costs. Cons: Rental cars will stop being basically free Pros: Demand for taxi roleplay will increase, not making the job useless as it is now. Less fuck-around on rental vehicles Less abandoned cars Commands to add: N/A Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? ^ Additional information: N/A

  14. Short description: Add more weapon variety into gun stores Detailed description: There's an obedience of weapon variety, we're currently restricted to only 4 pistol types (SNS Pistol, Pistol, Combat Pistol and Vintage Pistol) which is not really fair, at all, since Suppliers get a huge variety to choose from. Gun stores get regular shipments of firearms new and old at their request, they would realistically have such firearms in stock. We are in a modern day america where guns are easily attained in gun stores and pawnshops. The LSPD already have some form of MK II weapons, it's unfair the general server doesn't. The weapons I propose are: Pistol MK II, SNS Pistol MK II, Double Action Revolver / Navy Revolver and the Musket returning into gun stores. The musket did virtually zero damage to players and there was no explanation for its removal. Commands to add: None, additions to the gun store scripts. Items to add: Pistol MK II, SNS Pistol MK II, Double Action Revolver / Navy Revolver Musket How would your suggestion improve the server? More weapon variety and stops people being so beholden to illegal weapon suppliers to get different variety. These weapons are indeed illegal, but due to limitations, we're not allowed to buy them legally. Additional information: This allows for better roleplay and avoids the usage of the same exact firearms by legal PF owners. I dont think the LSPD objects to these guns.

  16. I mean all those FB rats should be banned for violating copyright and making $$$ off this piss poor rp. For example Philthy P stealing all Philthy Rich's songs claiming as his own, has garbage roleplay with no fear beefing every single faction and person that calls him out. And that's just top of the icebearg. Though for all I know nobody cares about it, I've pointed it to management multiple times, I don't see anything being done.

  17. While it's not piracy, it's still violating the individuals copyright (plus I doubt they've put up any direct or indirect indication it's not their voice) , which can put GTAW in the firing line should a DMCA be submitted as they're required by law to comply with. Failure to credit the artist is still not acceptable at all, don't steal peoples work and play it off as your own, that's just sad and scummy.

  18. I think that there are a number of issues surrounding this in terms of realism and practicality. Adverts cost money. From a realistic perspective, somebody who requires employment equally requires money. It's there for arguable that the person posting such an ad probably shouldn't be able to afford it. There's also a degree of redundancy to such an act. Typically, people who have jobs advertise them until the roll is covered. I can't say for certain, but I imagine that people don't gravitate towards somebody offering their services unless it's something sleazy. Which brings me to my final point. It's often difficult to outright know what is legal or illegal when somebody is offering themselves. Especially when it's somebody telling you their age, gender and appearance, which makes most players assume it's a prostitute offering their services. In summary then, while I understand that this can cause new member issues, this is a decision for the benefit of realism. In addition, new players can find alternatives, by calling adsfor work, or even going to bars and asking subtly.

  21. Exactly what im thinkin. You can start off by RPing as a teenager that works as a mechanic and he just got the passion for cars. You don't have to own a lambo to be in a racing club, you can literally be the owner of a racing club with a 1995 modded honda civic thats all GTA V modifications will also help a ton with this kind of RP

  25. ? That's what the starting income is for. You get 40 hours of $5,000 an hour paychecks. That's $200,000. I'd consider that pretty considerable assets over the first 40 hours for not having to do a thing. There are also the jobs that provide $3,000 an hour additional over that for a few hours a day. The worst that will happen is you spend a couple hours without a car. Big deal. There are bicycles, a scooter and cheap cars under $10,000 that will not take long at all to get to. Then you can go about whatever way you want to build your assets. Your justification to portray your characters the way you intended, would take a few hours at max to acquire starting assets to accomplish. Hardly a reason to justify using a rental car for fishing. That's abusing the system. You wouldn't go rent a car from a Hertz or an Enterprise rental company, then drive it out to the middle of nowhere, take it offroading down to the lake and then use it to haul smelly loads of fish back and forth. If you do, then let me know the name of that rental company because I want in on some of that.

  27. I can see methodical RP being done to put people inside businesses and obtain specific items that can later be used to execute a heist... For instance putting someone in Gruupe Six as a technician so that he gains access to the remote feeds and security features a business may have installed... All the while another person digs in to evaluate how to use such resources to locate for instance.. a safe... Time to make an Alt I suppose... ?
