  1. Feature Showcase: Hair Tattoos Information Hair tattoos serve as an addition to add to the existing character customization options. Along with the standard hairstyles which are widely available, you now have the option to choose one or more of these hair decorations that stick under the hairstyle onto the scalp. There are different variations for each gender, the system accounts for that and gives you the proper options. . Usage The first option has a small description and displays how that specific decoration looks on the character. Whenever you decide that you want a specific hair tattoo you simply navigate to "Add" below and press Enter. That includes it into a "wanted list" and from that point on it will stick onto the scalp. You can go back up and repeat the process, you can add as many hair tattoos as you see fit in order to give your character a unique look. If you can keep track of which hair tattoo(s) you have added you can navigate to the corresponding description(s) and select "Remove". That would remove that specific one from the said "Wanted List", on the other hand you could select the "Clear" option and start over. In the end, all that's left to do is complete the purchase and from that point on it will stick to the chosen outfit(s).

  2. If conflict arises, criminal roleplayers should utilize their firearm as a last resort. I'd recommend cursing and insulting each other combined with a bit of intimidation. If the verbal method doesn't cause one individual to leave the situation, then escalate it into a fist fight. What do I mean by a fist-fight? A roleplay-oriented one rather than a mechanic one, as it leads to more detail beyond "Oh, I got knocked out". Another interesting aspect is the notion that any time that a person wields ANY form of weapon, it usually results in a fight that leads to death. Instead, feel intimidated by a blade and "back off". How about internal conflict that doesn't always result in a shoot-out? I.E. Slurs about X having sex with a prostitute or two males competing with each other to attain this one specific woman that they are both interested in. In the end, manifest ideas and storylines that does not only revolve around narcotics and firearms. I would like to also point out that the murder-rate, within Davis, is higher than modern-day Compton, despite possessing less players than Compton, itself: https://homicide.latimes.com/neighborhood/compton I'd just like to point out, I've had at least seven characters that were armed within the past six months. Only one of them has ever actually used their firearm, and that was during an actual shoot-out that occurred during a war.

  3. There is already a very active government faction, they just lack the resources and time to be very active with players IC. The work achieved by @AVRO DANKASTER is huge and we already set up unique budgets for all factions with specific reports, they have developed the business fundings and all the organization / structure for what's to come for faction, especially with SD and the county jail. We're not done achieving all the actions and organization we need to finish before it's ready to a vote from all players, and we'll also not allow people to get elected just because they pooled as much OOC friends as they could to vote for them, which leads to trolls or bad roleplayers in a critical position for the server as the government hold all budgets for the factions, and all factions needs their budgets discussions to be serious otherwise the entire economy will take a massive blow. All the server scripts are tied to this and the government's money isn't spawned, it's coming from all the taxes & co. We're not sure yet how it's all going to happen, but what i'm sure of is that we need more political parties and power plays by roleplayers. Good political roleplay will be definitely rewarded and you'll be included in what's to come next.

  4. Properly developing a character before anything. Seen too many people create characters, and by the next week they're already toting assault rifles and pump shotguns like it's nothing. In my opinion every character should start off fresh. If I'm planning on portraying myself as a skinhead, I'm not going to make a character that splurges the N-word here and there with a bunch of political views out of nowhere. It has to come from somewhere. Same goes for Surenos who have a strong hatred for blacks or asians, or gang bangers suffering from PTSD and drug addiction. Every character shouldn't be as easily replaceable as they are now. Unorganized or organized, people have to put more research into what they're trying to portray as a faction. I'm not talking highest of the high, I'm just speaking of a decent amount that gives you the picture that you must sketch inGame. If people adapted more to the modern times than they are now, it'd cut a lot of issues that I've seen play out time and time again. A ton of people have an exaggerated idea on what "gangsters" do and how they conduct themselves, and it's only influencing others to follow in their path. Everybody within a faction in general should have their own unique story, and shouldn't be as replaceable as the next person in said faction. Every single person involved should bring their own unique personality and talent to the table, and should be in no way similar to the next person. That means that not everybody within a street gang has to be a drug dealer or a ruthless killer like so many people chase after on this server. It's like people think that gangs IRL are just full of drug addicted, PTSD having, mass murdering, emotionless killers when it's everything but that. When a faction's conducting itself as a street gang, they should move about as such. It's set in stone that you're a street gang, act like it. Violence has to bunker down too. The sync for fighting is completely raggedy at the moment but it doesn't excuse for all the senseless shooting going on at all sides, unorganized or organized. It's not as bad as it was before, at least to me, but it's still there. Melee in itself is just getting stupid, you have people carrying around wrenches in their draws and baseball bats in their backpacks everywhere they go. With all that being said, a lot of civilians have to know their place. I've been in countless situations where civs just walk up to a group of 5 during the dark of night asking for directions or just sparking up a random conversation. You have people driving up in expensive vehicles in the ghetto, then get wide-eyed when they're directly targeted for their possessions. If you're a civilian, act like it. No one in their right mind would drive all the way to the hood in a expensive ass car to cop a quick 5g, especially if they don't know anybody. If you know you have a higher probability of being robbed or shot in said neighborhood, why wouldn't you take precautions to better your chances on not being killed? I've never gotten that. Ever.

  5. Proper time and research going into a character before taking the dive goes a long way. And like others said, using extreme violence as a last resort, don't necessarily go in to kill someone. On the flip side of this, react accordingly to extreme violence. Don't go around committing crimes because a person's bored OOC - each choice one makes should have purpose to the character and be born from the character's situation and current state of mind. And for the love of God, stop looting guns/etc unless people are in a more appropriate or secluded area for it. Standing in broad daylight trying to find 3g of coke on a dude you just shot while your gun's still hot is just beyond obnoxious.

  8. Feature Showcase - Los Santos County Sheriff & Jail Showcase Overview The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department faction, in conjunction with the DoJ, LSPD, Faction Management Team & Mapper Team are proud to announce a rejuvenation of the server's Criminal Justice dynamic with both criminals & Law Enforcement alike. The upcoming update brings forth a host of new changes regarding the Judicial System & Law Enforcement process. Criminal roleplayers within the server will now face physical penalties for their actions, as well as pre-trial detention depending on particular circumstances. Law Enforcement Officers will now have to in-process arrestees at the newly-mapped Los Santos County Jail, operated by the Sheriff's Department. Commands /releaseme - Exit the jail permanently after your time is up /jailtime - Check how long remains before you can be free'd /jrequest - Request a deputy if any is available, offline guards will be notified on Discord through an IC notification channel /cellinfo - Prints information about the cell /jevent - Report an event to the guards, for example : /jevent You would notice a body left in a blood pool in front of cell A001. Guards will receive the event on Discord to notify them OOCly about the event that they would discover ingame. /onduty - Check how many guards are online /jlockdown - Open / close all doors of the current interior you're inside (guards only) /assigncell - Change the cell of an inmate (guards only) /release - Releases an inmate (guards only) /checktime - Check how long an inmate is jailed for (guards only) /showwristband - Show your wristband information to another player /setjailstatus - Set a special status written on the prisoner's wristband (guards only) Jail time will decrease 3x faster if you actively roleplay (This current value is temporary and might be modified in the future) How Arrest Works Former System: Arrest > Temporary Detention at Police Headquarters > Potential Court Case or Release New System: Investigation > Warrant > Arrest(starts with arrest if 'on-view') > Booking at County Jail > Detention > Bond Hearing > Due Process > Release or Sentencing/Conviction Expected features of the jail The Los Santos County Jail will provide an interesting roleplay dynamic for both Government & Criminal Roleplay. The circumstances of the jail allow for criminal gangs to manifest within the incarceration system, as sentenced inmates will be assigned to the jail to interact with pre-trial detainees. Features in development include: Bond System - allowing inmates to place surety/collateral to bonding companies in exchange for release from the county jail, on grounds they may loose assets or finances if they do not show up for court. Commissary / 'Books' - this serves as a means of both sustenance and institutional currency for inmates within the county jail. [In development] Weapon features - inmates are able to fashion weapons from items they find or create, to include shanks. Booking - inmates will have their arrest record & incarceration status on-file with server Law Enforcement entities. Conviction / Sentencing - inmates facing sentences may be assigned to the county jail for long durations of time. 'Prison Gangs' - long term inmates may be able to create gangs 'within the walls'. Phone System - inmates will be able to place calls from the jail. [In development] Other features to come. Full album : https://imgur.com/a/zSH60EK Additional Information Judicial Faction Los Santos County Sheriff's Department Special thanks to the Mapping Team for the hours and hours of hard work that they have dedicated to this. Not only in building, but research, discussion and reworking when it became apparent mid-mapping that things were not going to work as the floor plans dictated. As a server we are lucky to have people who will selflessly give up their own time to provide interesting and immersive features, from the Mapping Team right up to the administration team, past and present, who have worked to make this project what it is. Looking forward to our next grouping of projects, and working to manage such an amazing group of people.

  10. As @Benny Black's forum went - let's discuss the way we, illegal factions, can improve .Lets discuss ways that we can improve, Illegal Factions, I am looking for genuine feed back. Not why guns and drugs should be cheaper but instead ways to improve roleplay in Illegal Factions, what are some things we can better the community as a whole in regards to Crime RP and create fun and exciting scenarios NOTE: When I say 'crime rp' I mean serious, official factions, not the certain cliques who don't even plan to get a thread rather just rob and kill until their LSRP server gets back up. Do not come here and try to justify your factions killings, fuel ooc fires, trash admins for saying you’re rp isnt perfect, trash the new fm team, or anything besides list things we crimerpers can work on.

  11. Examine the player reports... I wouldn't state that it is not problematic. It requires a lot of improvement. I've only been on this server for six months. Yet, it has declined since the collapse of Azteca and Ghetto Boyz, which limited amount of factions within the region alongside with constant poor-quality PKs, which are observed within the player reports. Remember the days when Davis LTD and Strawberry LTD were opened, 24/7? We've descended since that period... It's time to recover. You don't believe that it requires improvement?

  12. It is arguable, as certain individuals treat each day as a day while others treat each day as four days. Overall, though, I believe that criminal factions should attempt to display the human aspect of each individual character rather than only engaging in crimes that involves weapons and narcotics. It should exceed beyond merely robbing individuals and engaging in gun fights, as each member possesses their own unique back-story and personality that could be displayed through alternative means. I.E. Taking a homegirl down to the beach on a date, a block party, gossip between set members, maybe a gang member having a friendly interaction with people outside of the set etc... At this rate, I'm observing tons of PKs within Davis on a daily basis, which could've been spent engaging in alternative forms of R.P., as-well. Although certain players do not perceive a day to be a day, the R.P. should be diversified. EDIT: <<<=== I always enjoy using my first character, Ras, as an example... He was a Jamaican mob boss that had never utilized his firearm, at all, as he preferred to intimidate civilians with his arms crossed. At the most, he only pulled out his blade after asking an intoxicated member of Azteca to stop calling him a "N*gger". He didn't even have to swing the blade, once, as the person backed down. It then lead to the person apologizing, sincerely, directly in front of a group of younger Azteca gang members... In the end, they shook hands. Then again, Ras was a fourty year-old ex-convict that was imprisoned for twenty-five years... different personality, altogether.

  14. There is so many things wrong with what you just said and honestly it's a blatantly ignorant statement. I'm not gonna waste my time arguing with you though. I just want to let you know how ignorant what you just said is. Consider looking at some of the very quality gang factions that have been and are on the server for example Forum Drive Hustler Crips or Seaside Asian Boyz.

  17. I'd be all for this idea if it could be implemented properly, however, I don't believe we're currently at the point we could do that. The prevailing argument for it seems to be that it'd "create roleplay" which I agree, it would, but this would be for a small number of people at the expense of making an already disliked system much more complicated and unenjoyable for the majority. Previous posts have already brought this up, but I believe the amount of time and work that would be needed to maintain a list of insured vehicles is not reliably attainable. Insurance companies have hundreds if not thousands of employees and automated systems working full time that let them manage their insured vehicles. Here you'd have a few people working whenever they felt like it, attempting to manage things in a server with more than 20,000 player vehicles (according to UCP). Essentially, what I'm saying is that you'd need a way to guarantee service and the only way to do this I can see is automate it, which counteracts the whole point of having players manage it. Because of this, it is my opinion that the script as it currently is managed is honestly the best way we can handle it for now as a server.

  18. I've had to clean a lot of lies and shit from the thread as it's once again going away from its initial goal. Banned players, people who never roleplayed illegal nor contacted illegal Faction Management can't come here and freely insult their work nor say that "DM is allowed". These are 100% lies and don't come back on this thread to spread these things when: We haven't seen you contact FM nor PLM. We haven't seen you report these players. We haven't seen you with a good roleplay level. We haven't even seen you on the server in months. I'm all for opened discussion and we created an illegal discord just for that, but if you can't behave or have a serious discussion with some knowledge of what you're talking about, we'll end up closing every threads and keeping the discussion with the illegal discord only. I also invite everyone to read the following if you didn't, as many of you claim people "don't RP fear", well good news if you logged in this month you should know that you can report anyone who fail to RP fear for a permanent CK, and so far we already accepted more than 10: So please, I beg you to keep these threads serious. There are real issues to discuss, we don't have time with trolls or people who come with 0 knowledge of what the current illegal roleplay state of the server is. If you're here to trashtalk a specific faction, then you haven't understood anything of this thread and you can expect to be warned.

  19. there's probably been like 1 CK in the past month in Davis, so that isn't relevant to the IRL rate at all should petty stuff keep going on like: X beats up A and posted a picture of it, exposing him... then A beats up X and does the same, then so on and so on instead of X or A coming back harder which would actually be more realistic than melee fighting all the time? gun violence is a lot more common than what you think, just because less than whatever died in just a year or 4 months, doesn't mean gun crime isn't common. if real gangs in LA use their guns as a sort of primary resort, why should we (gang rpers) use it as a last resort? if a gang banger has a gun, he is going to use it... and it's not about oh what about the consequences etc.. until LSPD actually start putting people away for long periods of time, there aren't really any consequences other than the character's mental state, but that should only really happen when your character CK's someone and not PK's them. but I get what you mean though, if shootings do happen.. both sides shouldn't mag dump into eachothers bodies like in LSRP, because that is unrealistic and most of the time nobody dies

  20. Not sure about this. Insurance companies will just get rich off it being mandatory, like construction firms did when you HAD to go through one and pay their hefty price to get a property you requested. Just let the money keep getting removed or going to gov, since the whole road tax/insurance system seems to have been put in only so people don't drive expensive sports cars everywhere. In real life there's many agencies, rates, and competition. But you'd have several different options, liability insurance being the only mandatory one, and then all the comprehensive options that cover any damage you cause to your own car. They can't reasonably offer that here, no one's going to care about the different benefits of each company. They would all be the same and people would be choosing the cheapest option every time, there would be nothing the companies could compete over, other than their rates. I haven't had a single use for insurance other than not getting arrested. Has anyone actually destroyed their car and have had to pay to get it back? Also, you can get almost all vehicle insurance things done online in a matter of minutes. You don't have to go into an office to pay it, or sign up, or even to send the paperwork to the DMV when you switch companies. It's almost all on your phone.

  22. Personally I'm not a fan of a lot of the staff right now. Tbh, I miss FM. People like Capo, eyebrows, and Maca helped to make this server what it is. They were and still are so under appreciated. They made the tough calls and helped keep the roleplay quality good. It sucked to see them go and to see where the servers gone after FM departed. Kinda makes me sad.

  26. I actually have to disagree with this. The reason is not that I disagree with the logic of this stuff being controlled by private corporations, because capitalism ftw. But because I can forsee people just setting up these companies in order to start making boatloads of money, on something the server is doing for an OOC reason mostly. The server implemented the Road Tax now renamed Vehicle Insurance to make it more realistic in terms of the US, mainly as a way to control server inflation. Giving this to private companies IG completely disrupts the initial purpose of the system, being an OOC check on inflation as even if you could have multiple player-run insurance companies competing IG for customers, the inflation intial goal would be entirely erased from existence in favor of lower and lower prices to the consumer which is not the point of this system. Now we can argue on the merits of having forced taxes/insurance on vehicles in order to control inflation on the server all day, and I think that argument could have merits on it's own. But because of the reason the system exist and that it's also mandatory for everyone on the server to have and keep up, making it privately run by players will just lead to a bunch of people who have no idea how insurance companies legitimately work trying to set up various firms and setting prices just to basically get "free money," from something lawfully enforced on both an IC and OOC level. And it is for that reason that I sadly, even though I like the concept in theory, have to give a disagreement. The system isn't there for a true RP reason, it's there for an OOC inflation reason.
