  1. Pretty simple suggestion that will add a bit more realism and immersion. People who drink too much throw up, fall over or blackout depending on how much. The more alcohol you drink over time, the more your tolerance builds, eating things like bread (I'm sure we've all done that before a night out;) ) or big meals before drinking provides a temporary increase in tolerance. This is merely a useful aide for those who don't know how to roleplay the effects of alcohol because perhaps they aren't familiar with them or for those who drink the club dry but don't seem to be affected.

  2. Past few months in general to me it feels like all the legal factions are going downhill, less and less effort is being put in except for the new CSI unit. Original ideas are being turned down because they take effort to execute and who cares about original rp right? Let's build a house for the mayor who isn't even an active character in the game.

  3. If you need script benefits to want to add something to your character then I frankly think you're doing the whole heavy RP thing wrong. Drug use and addiction is something that can add a lot to a story. Visual effects aren't realistic. They don't add anything. The room didn't turn purple when I was on heroin in real life and as far as your argument that drugs need to make you "feel good", I find that particular feature more annoying than anything. People shouldn't need to be incentivized with literal RPG style buffs or other script enhancements to make drug use "fun". We're portraying characters and telling stories here. I have nothing against allowing drugs to be split, sure. But to say it's "boring as hell" just tells me there's a lack of research, creativity, or interest here. Role play a character. If they use drugs, then use drugs. If that's boring as hell without flashy scripted additions then you might just not be interested to begin with.

  8. No alternative? Seriously? I see a simple lack of effort to develop an in-game Government. So of course there's no interest. https://forum.gta.world/en/index.php?/forum/696-government-leo/ - Where is the Government in-game role play? Give people the opportunity to interact in-game in a capacity that gives them the ability to further their character's development. Otherwise, why waste the time being in the Government on an RP server? Role play is what creates investment in character. When's the last time we had a public event where the Mayor addressed the people of Los Santos? What about City Hall speeches to the press? To let them ask pertinent questions that should be addressed in-game and in-person, not just in a private interview. I'm not saying it should be a weekly thing, there should be some face-to-face, public interaction required. What does the Public Works director do in-game? Head of Finance? Do they go to meetings? City Council? Have the ability to voice their ideas? It probably becomes a moot point, so people don't want to be bothered. What is there to do for people to do in-character/in-game when they get hired? Also, this thread is a perfect example of something that should be done by the Government faction as well. This helps people show an interest in what you are doing, so that you can cultivate that from an OOC interest into an active in-game interest. (Anyone from the Government faction PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong. This is just my perception. I will humbly admit to being wrong if that is the case). @AVRO DANKASTER Please comment.

  9. Might take a few people to IC’ly become concerned about the issue and record it, send it to the police. Maybe they can start posting up checkpoints outside of the clubs. If that doesn’t work, OOC’ly report them for meta gaming.

  14. It basically just gets fucked over because the elegy copbaiters with guns gangbangin these racetracks outchea. These legal race events are one of my favorite things to pop up on the server as a big car enthusiast myself. I gives me hope in the car scene and I really hate seeing it get disallowed cause the illegal side of racing and it's complete lack of RP standard in majority of that rp, with the general lack of strict methods and the "I don't care, it's a game, so I treat my RP as a game" kind of mentality that you find in just about any scene on any game that has roleplay. When a game's in the mix, people have a harder time treating it as RP and as a real person, with real cars, guns etc. They probably aren't the main reason but I know for sure they're a big part of it. People look at anything car related and assume its the same level of quality as that. on a more serious note, tho; That said, it is a very IC issue (most likely a mainly IC issue, even) as well with groups like LSAC/URL and even 40oz who's pretty rowdy we're actively doing stuff out in the boonies, but less in your face than the other groups cause of that around like smoke fragrance who's less active these days and streetnet kinda making cops bring the hammer down a little, so legal events get throw into it because the illegal racers show up to them and practice them before it happens. I think a way to combat that would be keeping the tracks extremely secret to outsiders that aren't involved with the legal side of getting these events handled and approved that way the people that don't follow the law ICly have a harder time ruining your reputation by driving the roads illegally before the events are a thing. Pair that with seeking out active sponsorships and a petition like HaveADream suggested and get as many people on board as possible to help your case, you may just stand a chance at getting these things more legally situated. Get the government to trust you as a reputable and professional group that knows how to handle their things and has contingencies to provide safety to the public as best as you possibly can (as I suggested with things like keeping track location and route more private etc until it's actually track day, and have those practice runs teach them the track instead) and I think you'd get that kind of IC and OOC view needed to get your things approved so your roleplay isn't hindered by it. It's mainly an IC issue, however there is a small amount of OOC no matter what anyone says that needs to be handled. If all people see you as is another John Monroe or Katsu Salvatore streetracing and running from the police (not saying this as any offense or insult to them, don't lynch me. i don't mean it in a toxic way. Its just fact, they street race and run from the cops a lot, and are good examples of the types of characters that hinder the legal side of the car scene by making the cops crack down on everyone. It's a consequence of actions whether good or bad.) I also think the government currently really doesn't know much about motorsport as said, and that I think needs to change, because people shouldn't be getting denied for something as silly as "muh muh dangerous" lol. Motorsport is dangerous. Rally is dangerous. Hill climbs are dangerous. Track racing is dangerous. Yet it's still an extremely popular thing, much like combat sports etc. The street racing thing I get, hence the "distance yourself from that, and become reputable with the government as a professional and legit party" suggestion that'll help. Much similar to arguments I've had in discord where people treat me like a retard for the 1st half of the argument until they see my point because they see what car my character drives and lop me in with the problem. People are generally keen on the legal racing events as it's a way for them to keep their legal characters all the way legal, but when they become tainted by actions of illegal racers it tends to get a little tricky. I fuck around a lot with the people I encounter that I don't really feel like they care about maintaining a good rp atmosphere but there's my honest two cents on it, at least in terms of car roleplaying events such as RIA's championships. I think it's a great thing and you guys put a lot of effort into it which I can appreciate.

  15. No, they don't. People shouldn't get their applications fucked off just because someone races on that road. By that logic if I requested to do a drag racing event on the road in front of my shop and someone drag races there once or twice, they have the right to deny it? No, not really. Not really, especially when something like this wouldn't have been fucked off for a petty reason in the first place. Saying how "there will without a doubt be accidents, , the latter part of the track is very dangerous, as is the initial part of the track." is actually hilarious. Have you seen any hillclimb events? Search up Pikes Peak, and you'll see how often that's used for hillclimbs, and what they even allow there. Motorcycles, cars, even quads. This actually made me laugh. Yes, let me just get my character that wrenches on cars into politics. Can I run for presidency next? People shouldn't have to bust their ass off and drag themselves into politics and establish political parties to get a simple event going. That's not how that goes.

  19. That was very insightful and down to a tee, Keane. I hope many members of the LSPD can take advice like this and apply it to their faction, even if they aren’t being taught it. @Bryar1427 I respect that you roleplay a person with a decent background of development. However, there is something you really need to be taking into account as it appears that you may be mistaken with the whole “who’s going to shoot me in broad daylight in somewhere I’m from” approach. A fairly fresh example is the death of rapper Nipsey Hussle. He was outside of his own clothing store, Marathon Clothing, in Crenshaw, Los Angeles. Nipsey was shot over 10 times to the torso and head over a minor altercation with somebody also from his area. Over a simple verbal altercation over seemingly two once-acquainted friends, Nipsey tragically lost his life from a jealous, reckless Rollin 60’s Neigbourhood Crip, the same gang Nipsey was from. This was in broad daylight in the middle of a busy strip of shops in South LA. He died over asking that man to go away because he was suspected of being a snitch. Please don’t assume that your character is “safe” because they’re from that area or it’s daylight... you might find yourself caught up in a sticky situation if you cross roleplayers that are hardcore into their knowledgable Los Angeles gang culture roleplay.

  21. PABLO HERNANDEZ Name: Pablo Hernandez DOB: 28/09/2004 Origin: Juarez Residence: Jamestown Rancho, Los Santos BACKGROUND Pablo Hernandez, a fourteen years old teenage living with his mother. His father died at Juarez, caught in a cartel shootout and it was the main reason Pablo's mother has decided to move to Los Santos. Pablo started to attend school and eventually met more kids that were living close by. As time went by, Pablo started to hang out with some kids that were affiliated with the gang and made him follow the wrong path. A few months later, the 'varrio' was in a lock down due the green light given by the Mexican Mafia La eMe and Pablo witnessed countless shootings, inducting Pablo into fear. A year went by, the war was over and everything calmed down. Pablo is now fifteen years old. He met a special girl, Stella that has a big impact on him. Suddenly she vanished and Pablo went 'loco' - He did things out off the bat as he was desperate. Everything went wrong, Pablo found his way out with drugs. Pablo went to the hospital, intoxicated. Pablo and Stella kept a distance and that fucked up with Pablo's mind. A few weeks later his mother got sick, she stayed in bed most of the time and it was Pablo who did and does everything at home. It was Monday, Pablo invited his close friend Vic and Faith ( Vic's friend) to have a dinner with him. During the process, Faith asked Pablo to see his mother and, concerned, took her to the hospital where she is at the moment. Pablo's mother has cancer and he wasn't aware. Faith and Vic have been taking care of Pablo while his mother is being diagnosed. Unaware of the whole situation, Pablo is struggling to survive on the streets as he was being bullied at school and had some beef in the 'varrio' because of the previously mentioned girl. Pablo had enough of being bullied and one day he decided to wait in the bathroom until any of the bullies come. He caught him lacking and beat him pretty hard - The teenage was found laid in a pool of blood and his ribs broken. Vic, being close to Pablo, has promised to take care of him and that being said, Vic took Pablo to the woods and taught him the basis to stay under radar and eventually how to operate a gun. It's been a while now, Pablo has gone through a rough path. His mother died from a sudden cancer and 'Faith' has taken over. Pablo found out that he's not a legal citizen of Los Santos and 'Faith' found a way out, which was, adopting Pablo ( Since he has no family left ) and handle all his legalities. Pablo was beaten countless times and had to learn through the roughest way. He's up to his feet, 'Leon', 'Rudy' and 'Vic' gave him a way out and he's currently selling weed on the streets to earn little to no cash. It was another day at Jamestown and Pablo decided to grab some fresh clothes. He drove his way to the clothing store and by the time he was shopping, a white individual approaches the teenager. He seemed another person in the world, until he began to ask Pablo about strange things. Pablo didn't like it and tried to keep his distance from the man, which seemed to be impossible because this one was tailing him. Pablo headed outside, slipped his hand into the pocket, flipped the switchbade open. This same male kept on tailing him, and somehow, for some reason, the individual pulls out a wrench. Pablo didn't thought twice - He pulled the switchblade out and stabbed the white male, not more not less than eleven times. At this point Pablo rides off and later on realizes that the said store should have CCTV's. Pablo decides to lay low for a big while. Green light is still a thing, it's not safe to walk outside without looking over the shoulder. Pablo been scouting the 'varrio' and several attacks took place. Pablo was never blessed to use a gun, however, he felt the necessity to use one a few times. It was a calm afternoon, the sun shinning and the kids playing around, a blue rental pulls up towards the 'trap' and Pablo keeps an eye out from the roof. The duo seemed to know what they were doing, Pab, without second thoughts, grabbed the gun and shot one of them down. Cops were nearby, didn't take too long for them to come, but Pablo managed to scape once more. Pablo has found a girl that loves him the way he is, her name's Violeta (V'). She's thirteen, cute and addicted to marijuana. They spend most of their time at home smoking, watching TV or hanging outside with the other people. Violeta had some troubles with the cops and was detained - She was sent to the juvie. Pablo also beefed with 'Victor' because he took advantage over Pablo and taxed him. They fought each other, involving 'Faith' right away. Pablo is left on his own, once more, without a place to live, without his girlfriend, without his mother and his big brother. The teenage has been doing drugs to keep his head busy and forget all the problems. WANTED *This thread will be updated as the story evolves.

  23. I see it particularly after working at a club, people just waltz out and get into their car and drive away. We'd actually have a need for taxis if people roleplayed the effects of alcohol.

  24. Like many have said, it's a grey area. Purists like myself would say 1 minute = 1 minute, regardless of circumstances. In this case, I'd say that characters being promoted to high ranks in PD should namechange rather than "age up". I did this when I became a detective in PD while I was part of the faction. For jail times, I've always said they should be realistic and that if your character commits a crime and is caught doing so that would carry a heavy prison sentence in real life then that's your fault and you should be /jailed for that amount of time. Since DOC hasn't fully formed yet and there isn't a prison system this would effectively be a CK. I CK'd my character Kido Hisaki when he was convicted of murder. It doesn't make sense for a character to be convicted of a heinous crime then have them back out on the streets a few days later. Luckily, the server is moving in the right direction now that the District Attorney is a thing and sentences are spanning months of IRL time. Criminals - during my time in PD - lacked fear of police because on a meta-level they knew that even a murder conviction would only result in three days in jail. This makes no sense for anyone involved in the RP and in crimes where the victim isn't killed it's extremely unfair to the victim as there is no rule preventing someone from getting out of jail and immediately seeking revenge - sometimes just mere hours later. For all these reasons, among others, I've always said 1 minute should = 1 minute.

  25. Disallowing political speeches on your platform isn't censorship. This server would ban you from the discord if you started posting propaganda, too. No one wants to see that shit. The player knew to keep politics out of it and he did it anyway. He made his own bed.
