  2. As a person known on the internet as "HappyToker", I kinda miss the option to pass around joints/blunts to other people so they could also have the effect without me giving them a whole gram... I roll 3 to 4 joints per gram, and I'm satisfied for a whole day, but using 1 gram for 1 joint is just a waste of money imo... You might as well smoke blunts RPly. If there was a way to work with 0,xx grams, I'd think it would be better, perhaps even break open a cigarette to roll the spliff with tobacco for a shorter effect. When I'm RP making a spliff, I always make sure I got a pack of Redwoods on me to make it realistic imo, I'm from the Netherlands and all we do is smoke spliffs most of the time, in regards of users.

  3. Hi! This is my new character Kaylee Hill, an LSPD academy student that's recently moved back to Los Santos from her beloved Ludendorff. Trying to follow in her brothers, Anthony Hill, foot-steps as a Law Enforcement Officer - this will be her origin story and continue throughout her career/role-play life! Tried to aim for something a little different as I'm not great at writing super long paragraphs. Hope you like it! Just a minor thing, certain things will be cut out as I don't want to potentially leak any LSPD things that may be against the rules. Call-signs, ranks and sensitive information will -never- be part of this. So any call-sign you see has been made up for the sake of the story. Everything during her LSPD career will be true-to-life to the RP that happened (I work off of screenshots and such to recreate the role-play) but certain aspects will change to protect the LSPD documentations that are not available to non-officers. Hope you understand! And just to confirm, I am going for a super cheesy / Max Payne comic panel kinda vibe so please expect some super corny lines, lmao!

  5. I support this; don't see any harm if its regulated just like everything else. Numerous sports and events have health hazards when stuff goes wrong.

  7. Like I've said. Telling a racer that racing is dangerous is the same like saying a cop that guns are dangerous. I don't know much about GOV like they don't know much about Motorsport. But there's always google, right? This is roleplay, and sometimes you need knowledge before you do stuff. They should find out things before cutting fun for one group of the players. Yeah, I agree with you. It should be regulated OOC, because I can tell myself that IC fight for it doesn't make sense. I've tried a lot, and all I got is waiting for nothing.

  8. It's painfully obvious that the ones handling the special event permits have zero knowledge when it comes to motorsport. Danger in motorsport exists, that's for sure, however the safety regulations that the FIA has put in place do a great job when it comes to reducing said danger. Hillclimbs in particular are dangerous and the only thing that is gonna save you in the event of a crash is how well your car was built. No one has deemed hillclimb events 'illegal' because of the risk involved. Here's a clip of a massive crash from Pikes Peak back in 2012, a track that is considered highly dangerous but raced on up till this day. The drivers came out of this only with bruises: To me it feels like this whole issue needs some form of OOC regulation. The current handlers of special event permits have zero knowledge of motorsport and don't understand that to some of us, having a character who is a professional racing driver, is a genuinely interesting concept. The RIA in particular have pulled off their last hillclimb event as best they could, considering the platform we're playing on. It was realistic, well managed and a complete success attendance wise. Why can't we continue this fun roleplay just because certain people know nothing about racing & motorsport in general?

  9. Gov is literally inactive as shit and useless, and I don't see a point in getting a permit from them, they won't accept it cause it's dangerous. Any type of sport that involves cars is dangerous, but it still happens, roads still get blocked for that type of stuff. In my town we talked to the cops so we can have a little quarter mile drag event on a road down here and they did, and blocked it for us. There wasn't a need for a permit from the "government", all we did was talk to someone on the phone then meet with someone the next day lol. You don't need Gov for shit like this.

  10. LSPD members are treated just the same as anyone else when it comes to their driving. If this still happens currently, you're free to report any member of the LSPD and action will be taken if they are found to be breaking the rules. All of these gifs are over a year old so I'm not sure why you're using them to act like it's happening now. Like any other thread targeting individuals or groups of individuals, this will be locked. Anyone driving unrealistically is treated the same.

  11. last one is incredibly sketchy, idek why a cop thinks that's acceptable, and do you mean your group? or other street racing groups, seems weird to attempt to throw shade at the police when most of them are incredibly unrealistic and can't RP.

  12. Behind the Diagnosis... Schizophrenia Miia Novak, Psy.D Schizophrenia is a scary, daunting word. When we hear it, most people immediately fall onto the assumption of a sufferer having lost their marbles. However, that is not the case. When it comes to schizophrenia, there is a lot of misconceptions about what it truly is. It is a scary and frightening condition in its own right, as it can manifest and develop equally amongst men and women. About 1 in 100 people will have one episode of schizophrenia, with two thirds of these developing further episodes at some point. At least 26 million people worldwide are living with schizophrenia, 2.6 million being Americans, according to the World Health Organization - with many more indirectly affected by it. In this series, I’m going to be divulging into the inner workings of various mental conditions that are very much present in everyday life. We’ll be looking into the mind of those affected by such conditions, as well as the treatments available today with the wonders of modern medicine, therapy and support. We’ll also be debunking the myths and misconceptions behind these disorders, which negatively impact the support people suffering from these conditions get, affecting their path to helping combat their condition, or cause them to not seek support at all. This week, Behind the Diagnosis of Schizophrenia. The Symptoms of Schizophrenia. When it comes to symptoms of schizophrenia, there is actually quite a few. Schizophrenia changes how a person thinks and behaves. The condition may develop slowly. The first signs can be hard to identify as they often develop during the teenage years. With young people, some symptoms can be mistaken for normal adolescent behavior. For example, becoming socially withdrawn and unresponsive or changes in sleeping patterns. Many believe it is just one ‘symptom’ with underlying behaviors. This is simply not true. As a matter of fact, in the world of psychiatry, it is accepted there is actually and called Positive and Negative symptoms of schizophrenia. One might ask, how could there possibly be a positive and negative to such a condition? Well, it basically means what you would see in a normal person, would be considered abnormal. It breaks it down, and groups the symptoms to make it easier to understand the inner workings behind schizophrenia on a simpler level. So, what would these positive and negative symptoms look like? Well, for starters; Hallucinations are positive. Hallucinations are when you see, smell, hear, taste or even feel things that do not exist. The most common being the hearing of voices. For a person experiencing a schizophrenic episode, these hallucinations can and are very real to the person. Even though the people around them can’t hear, or experience the same sensation, the person affected takes it as fact. Psychiatrists and mental health professionals have done research into the hallucination factor. Brain-scanning shows there is a change in the speech area in that sector of our brain to those hearing voices for example. The brain mistakes the thoughts for real voices, as if they truly are hearing voices as fact. Often enough, it is not always experienced as a ‘one on one’ talk so to say - the voices can originate from different places, for example the television or car radio. Some people describe the voices they hear as friendly or even pleasant, however more often they’re rude, critical and abusive to others. Hallucinations like this also factor into the next symptom; Delusions are positive. By definition, a delusion is a belief held with a very strong conviction despite contradicting reality, even if this belief is based on strange or unrealistic views. It can affect the way a person suffering from schizophrenia behaves. Delusions can also begin suddenly, or develop over weeks, months or even years. Schizophrenics may develop a delusion to explain the hallucination they are experiencing. For example, one might describe their actions of hearing voices as someone trying to monitor them, such as the police or media. They may experience a paranoid delusion, one where they believe they are being harassed or persecuted over their choices. May believe they are being followed during their daily life, or being plotted against which often tends to be a family member or friend. Other such delusions might be believing the media, newspapers and TV are relaying and communicating messages to you personally. These delusions are present in a lot of cases of schizophrenia, however many do say it is not as prevalent to them personally, like the extreme cases provided above. Changes in behavior and thoughts This is another ‘positive’ symptom that’s listed. What this means is, a person’s behavior may become more disorganized and unpredictable in what they do. Their appearance may seem unusual to others they come across. People with schizophrenia may also behave inappropriately to their surroundings, they become agitated or shout or swear for no apparent reason. May also believe that their thoughts are not their own, or being controlled by someone else, or even disappearing as if someone removed a certain thought from their mind. Negative symptoms of schizophrenia often appear several years before the first acute episode. Normally psychiatrists and mental health professionals call this the ‘prodromal period’ of schizophrenia. These symptoms usually appear to gradually and slowly get worse as time progresses. This might include the person becoming more socially withdrawn, lose interest in appearance or personal hygiene. However, these symptoms can be very difficult to tell if they are related to the development of schizophrenia, it could possibly be caused by something else. Other symptoms that people living with the condition they said affected them was the likes of losing interest in activities and life itself, like forming relationships. This could also contribute to another condition known as depression which is why it can be hard to tell. Lack of concentration and changes to their sleeping patterns is another. Such symptoms can and do lead to problems with friends and family. It can be mistaken for deliberate rudeness, for instance. The First Episode When dealing with schizophrenia, what often follows at some point in the condition’s lifetime is psychosis. When it’s time comes around, the very first episode of acute psychosis can be extremely difficult to cope with - for the person who is affected with the condition and for their family and friends. It’s frightening for those exposed to it, and can last for several weeks. People often have episodes of schizophrenia when their symptoms are severe. This is acute schizophrenia. They can then go through periods with few or no symptoms. Thoughts can still be confused or muddled. Even when there are no obvious external symptoms. Drastic changes in their behavior can occur, becoming extremely upset, anxious, angry or confused with those around them. They may grow wary and suspicious of friends and family. They may not think they need help, or find it very hard to persuade them to visit a professional. Losing touch with reality is a big symptom in an episode of psychosis. Disturbed thoughts become the forefront of psychosis, they may believe an organization or someone is out to get them. This ties in with the delusions spoken about earlier, however more rampant during an episode. Misconceptions about schizophrenia When it comes to the topic of schizophrenia, there is quite a lot of misinformation regarding it. It’s more misinformed than any other mental health condition out there. A diagnosis of schizophrenia does not mean the person affected has a ‘split personality’ or mean that the person will be calm for one minute, and out of control the next. That is not what schizophrenia as a whole does. It often gets confused with psychopathic tendencies, or bi-polar disorder. Stories, movies and other forms of media often tend to present people with schizophrenia as dangerous and unhinged, even though most people diagnosed with the condition do not commit any violent crimes. Another misconception is that those affected upon who hear voices are dangerous and tell the person to commit a violent crime. This is not the case, in fact the voices are more likely to suggest they harm themselves than someone else and actually do have a choice in what the voices say to them. Another misconception being that schizophrenia only involves delusions and hallucinations. This is incorrect. Psychosis is unusual and frightening, and its popular culture in media so it naturally associates schizophrenia with delusions and hallucinations more than any other symptom. This causes the misinformation with the positive and negative symptoms. Another big myth and misconception is that schizophrenia cannot be treated. Again, untrue. In older movies, or older generations in general, people suffering from the condition were taken away to institutions and left there for the rest of their lives in isolation. This obviously caused the condition to worsen and made people believe it was lost hope. It was often seen as receiving a life sentence in prison. Although it’s true it cannot be cured, it can be successfully treated with rehabilitation, psycho-social therapies and medication. Proper treatment however requires the person to come to terms with the condition, and seek the help they need, Institutions are there to help one another, not lock them away like the olden times. With the proper treatment from said professionals and institutions.. People with schizophrenia can start being themselves again and become completely healthy. Getting Help If you or someone you know and care for, are experiencing the symptoms of schizophrenia - you may wish to contact your GP or reach out to psychiatric professionals who can steer the affected in the right direction. If you do not feel comfortable approaching it that way, speaking to social services or a local community health team can also support you. As you need urgent support, or feel like harming yourself or anyone else for that matter, head to the nearest hospital emergency department, or dial 911. As scary as the condition might sound, getting the help you or someone you know, needs, is the first step to overcoming it. Next week, Behind the Diagnosis will focus on the topic of Borderline Personality Disorder Saints News

  13. a wit. u interview Inspiration & Individuality Heather Powell A few days ago, I had the freedom of looking over Los Santos' emerging movie with a scene with a review of their newest title - Monkey Business. The quality and content of the movie and review aside, what captivated me the most was the effort and dedication those working on the movie had put into it. However, we're not here to discuss the movie industry once more; instead, in my search for something new to report on, I came across Owen Davies - on FaceBrowser, the local social media platform. While I do admit, at a personal level, that the genre of his music does not necessarily resonate with me - what did, once more, captivate me, was the amount of effort Owen, under his alias - "wit.u" put into his art, simply out of his own heart and passion for music. I reached out, and earlier today, I got a chance to talk with him. I took the liberty of asking Owen seven questions, all of which seemed the most relevant for the interview. Here's the full interview, moderately edited for grammatical reasons and, more importantly, fully uncensored: Given the release of your newest album, "Love" - I'd like to ask; so far, how it's done in terms of sales - and could you describe the recording process for us? Were there any extraordinary situations? "Love" has done better than I thought it would, despite only being my second album ever. I never really thought it'd sell as much as it did - and people are still buying my vinyl, limited edition records and even my digital-sets. In conclusion, sales are great. I couldn't be happier with how it's going. As for the other question, the recording process was pretty tiring. I had far too many days with no sleep. The first three days I felt kicked out of reality and kept pumping myself full of red-bull and just smoked non-stop. I knew I had to get it done. Whether or not there were any complications or extraordinary situations, however? I'd say either the lack of sleep or the many samples I had to go through in order to get the perfect vibe for the album. Do you have any assistance behind the scenes you'd like to note; or do you do everything by yourself, from the mixing to the producing? I had no assistance behind the scenes whatsoever, everything I did and do, it is from scratch, from using samples, loops, various things I made, all by using my SP-404 and other live mixers. Ableton is beautiful for this sort of stuff. Though I do have a lot of back up and love coming from those at Pipeline, especially my manager and my beautiful girlfriend Aurora. The album's name is "Love" - as is aforementioned; this begs the question: does the album's title, or overall, the whole album, have any underlying meaning you'd care to share with us? To be honest, yeah... yeah it does have a fuck ton of meaning behind it, not even underlying at all. From the day I moved here - I used to get beaten, pushed over, yelled at, shit... you name it. I was lost. I remember, during my first week here, I saw an officer get shot down right in front of me just outside of some strip club. It was fucked up. There's so much hate, so much neglect, so much war going on inside a city that has such beautiful people, amazing talents and mindsets. There's too much hate going around, but too little love, I'd love to change that, somehow, in my own little way. I have nothing but love to everyone out in Los Santos. Do you have any plans to sign with a record label in the near future; or do you plan to continue to self-publish on audio platforms? I'm currently on contract with one of my best buddies, Cam Vance, who's also my manager - and helps me get my shit out there. The Pipeline isn't a label, but it's a family that's helped me get out there through events and whatnot. As for having a label? I'm not sure, I was in a label for the first three days and quit the contract due to the fact that they stole half of my income and nearly ruined my life when I was growing. So, to be honest, I'd rather just do it myself and publish my own shit. When the right people come, well, it'll all happen in due time. Do you have any plans for the future? Any possible collaborations with other artists you'd like to hint at, or future album releases? I have big plans for the future, I want to hold some charity events, depends on how big I grow as an artist. I mean absolutely no offense to anyone in the city or anyone around, at all; maybe I just haven't seen them yet or maybe I haven't really been around the right circles, but... I have no intention or even ambition to collaborate with anyone unless they're a rapper. Everything I've seen so far are just DJs who sit there and hit next on the fucking play-pad and get mad cash, if I see someone who actually puts time into making samples, loops and chopping their lyrics and then playing that shit live and smacking them buttons on stage, well, I'd love to collab with THAT sort of person. As for an album release, there's going to be plenty more in the future - I can promise everybody that much. Getting into more personal territory - do you take after anyone in specific, in terms of musical influence? And what got you into making music - was it just your passion for the art? This one bites. It really does. I have no reason to take after anyone but myself - every artist should be unique. You shouldn't try to copy someone else's flow, in my opinion. As long as you got that one little tweak or new vibe inside a track, you can call that special. I first started making music when I was either fourteen or fifteen; except I didn't really get too into it back then. I was just, like, starting. I didn't get too into it until I was, like, seventeen or eighteen. What got me into it, however, was all I really did was like, play video-games and listen to beats. Like, I had really long... long days of skipping school and just listening to music, getting stoned and playing video-games. And then I started finding out about hip hop instrumental tracks - and then I discovered artists like Flying Lotus, J Dilla, Samiyam, and all the Brainfeeder dudes. It was just... so damn different from anything else I had ever heard, like... Samiyam was sampling video games and stuff - little samples and different portions of his tracks, it was just... so original and the flow was so deep and cool that you could even feel the emotion behind it. That was the first time I had heard music without vocals - and I hooked right from the start. I ended up trying to do it myself; after all, all I was doing was playing video-games and listening to music - why not? What really got me into my passion for music, though, was the emotion, the vibe, the love, connection and originality. Everyone thinks hip-hop is just a trashy way to throw about words and hate, trying to harm and spit about crime - I'd argue. There's a lot of emotion and meaning to every track, it's not as brutal as some think. Topping this off; do you have any suggestions or advice you'd care to share for future, aspiring artists? I have a few words, of course. If you want to become something, let's say, a rapper, music producer, painter or a famous artist, generally speaking. Don't spill your mind into just one genre or one thing. When you're going about your passions and hobbies, delve into each root; into each art. Then, find the root you like best and go hard and never look back. There's always going to be someone better than you, someone, who's working harder than you. But that doesn't mean you should get discouraged or walk away, because you could be one little step away from making it to the big case. As for suggestions, if you want to make beats - or anything to do with hip hop, don't rush it. Look at all the different music applications, start with something free online - and just get the hang of it with your keyboard and a shitty mic. Learn to keep your fingers nimble, learn to tap rotations and most of all, and I can't fret this enough - keep it original, don't rip-off someone else's idea. Do your own thing. And with that concluded - I, too, suggest everyone to try their hardest and do their best at whichever art they're prolific at. This type of, well, a combination of dedication and charisma is always a joy to observe, be it within the music industry, movie industry, or any type of activity you've got passion for. 15. Lately I've received alot of messages on some small group chats OOCly about LSPD not roleplaying car crashes, doing non roleplay driving and such. I never experienced this myself since I've never been in a police chase or something related but, I'll present you guys some evidence just to enhance the disucssion: https://gyazo.com/77127191648daf18ddc8d4a742ee2b32 https://gyazo.com/3bf04a84e5fa5fe96578beaff7de07ff https://gyazo.com/e36f47007a9be21be2d8d4041860c98c https://gyazo.com/846d60051c193bfd2aa61898575a5c4b (All videos from GTAW) Note that I made this topic to create a discussion about it, not to throw hate around LSPD since I know MOST of them heavy roleplay their roles. These actions performed on the gifs above are not possible and are not used in Real Life, real police training don't turn yourself into a kamikaze since you are not supposed to T-Bone a car during a chase or kill someone, you need to make an effective action to stop the car chase, by that you can do pit, use spike strips, even shoot the tires should be accepted but this kind of driving put in risk the life of the policer, the other driver and possible other citzen that are not involved in the situation. When you start a car chase your intention is not to kill the criminal with your car, it is to make him stop and perform a proper arrest. Few weeks ago a friend of mine said to me that during a chase one police officer went flying on vinewood hills, his car performed a rollover and he kept driving like nothing happened just to keep up the car chase, sadly he couldn't record it. This behavior happens when people join the server with the mentality to win and not the mentality to roleplay, this thing kinda breaks the immersion since everyone is here to attempt to portrait the best of your character and not be arrested by a dude that just slam his car onto another to make sure the arrest is made. What do you guys think?
