  1. Short description: Implement a way to get metal parts legally from things other than car parts. Detailed description: When it comes to the server, many people know that everyone and their mother are looking for lock-picks and weapons such as knives and knuckle dusters. As a pawn shop owner, these items are by far the most requested and I find the lack of ability to get these items without doing so illegally rather annoying and honestly unrealistic. When it comes to things such as the items mentioned above, in the United States you can order all of these on Amazon and have them shipped to your door. In addition, buying metal scrap is easy to find a legitimate scrap yard and go in and buy metal by the boatload. Although not everyone knows how to melt metal, there are various youtube videos online showing how you can melt things down with homemade forges and smelt things. What I suggest is one of the following 1. Implement a way to get metal parts legally with the metallurgist job or a new script job such as harvester or scrapper. These jobs would go to places like the large scrap yard in Sandy and do a script command similar to fishing, where they get scrap metal at an appropriate rate such as maybe one scrap per minute. They could then take this metal to the factory and melt this down into a metal part. This would provide a legal way for people to get metal, as well as not flooding the server with things such as lockpicks or knives or knuckles as it would take twenty minutes of script harvesting to get one lockpick, forty minutes per knuckle, and fifty minutes per knife. This would not only allow players to make money in a way that could provide RP, such as having a company that goes around and cleans up scrap around the state, but provide legal players with a way to craft and sell these items. 2. Implement a type of legal supplier that would allow legal characters to apply and get shipments of metal parts, picks, knives, and knuckles, that would be similar to how the illegal suppliers work but would instead represent the shop owners ordering the items from various bulk order stores and scrap yards from around the country. This would, yet again, provide players a legal way to get these items, while allowing the admins to not flood the market too badly. It would allow people like me that own Pawn Shops to have access to the items most requested by players, while not having to have illegal connections that steal and scrap cars for parts. Commands to add: Similar to the fishing script, but for harvesting scrap metal in the scrap yard or various scrap piles around the map Items to add: Scrap metal (Only if it is added as a script job) How would your suggestion improve the server? This would provide players with the ability to craft things to defend themselves if they put enough dedication into it. As well as allowing people to run legit and fully legal shops like Pawn Shops. This would also allow people to get metal without having access to someone with a garage and would reward people for dedication to protect themselves. Additional notes: In the end, I am just wanting the ability to provide more options for people to make money through legal RP. Although my pawn shop in specific may not be completely legal, the ability to not get metal parts without some amount of illegal interaction is a shame. I feel that adding more legal options for making money is a very legit one and being able to do so without opening a bar or club sounds like a win to me. I would be interested to see what everyone else thinks.

  2. DJ Egroka Interview "Egorka." Aska Redan Over the past month, we've seen many fresh new DJs rise, some fall and others remain under the radar in niche markets. DJ AoI comes to mind when you hear the words popular club DJ, but there is one other. The usurper who gained such a massive cult following that dedicated fans and occasional listeners know by a single, nonsensical word. "Egorka." The word means absolutely nothing, it's gibberish but is a come to be a greeting and expression of love for the young immigrant Svetlana Koltsova. AR - Aska Redan EG - DJ Egorka/Svetlana *Note Svetlana speaks with a very dense Russian accent.* AR: What's your origin, you know where you were born, came from, how'd you get here? EG: I'm from Novosibirsk,Russia. I came here when I was sixteen, by plane. I was born into scrap business, my parents, they send me here to start my own life, and help with uncle's junkyard. Junkyard, it go under and uncle, he go back to Russian, but I decided to stay here, y'know? It's better here. AR: Do you know why the business went under or was it symptomatic of the recession towards the 2010s? EG: Eh it was after Recession. Uncle he have problems, economy, drinking and there was a lot of anti-Russian sentiment here. Because of politics, dates back to the Cold War I guess. AR: So amid all the issue with coming to America, and your uncle's business falling through. How'd you find yourself becoming a DJ? EG: A friend, she inspired me. Rina, she DJ at local clubs and parties, with all the popular hit music. I'm not entirely about that kind of music, but she gave me inspiration to DJ and play the kind of music I like to play. *At this point she received a phone call, and apologized for the interruption* AR: Please continue if you have any other words on that subject(her inspiration). EG: So she gives me support and I get all the stuff together to start my own radio. It turned out to be more popular than I was thinking because of the type of music. It's not entirely mainstream, like modern music. But people like it, and it's different than the normal music and I play requests from time to time. AR: How exactly did you meet Rina? EG: Through an old friend, named Lee. He moved away now but was one the firsts I had here. They were dating when he introduced me to Rina. Me and her have become great friends, still, are. AR: Your style and your own radio station is quite unconventi0onal. Normally people stick to a certain theme. You play anything from Nickleback to Post Malone, why is that? EG: Because it's different, instead of listening to the same old stuff, it's a bit of variety. A little something for every. To break the monotony of listening to rap, metal, or a pop station. You can have all in one place. But I don't play rap or hip-hop often. Only on occasion. AR: What inspires your love of music? EG: Well is simple, music is a universal language. Even if I speak Russian, and neighbor speaks English, music is something we can all understand. World revolves around music it would be miserable without in our lives. It's everywhere. AR: If you had to pick, who are your top band, arts, or groups? EG: That is a good question. AR: Who would you dedicate part of your station, setlists or even make a new station dedicated to them? EG: Daft Punk, Gorillaz, Disturbed, Tool, and Iron Maiden. Is hard to pick five. I love so many different groups, artists and genres. If I had to dedicate anything it'd be to a few people. To Rina, Lee, my late sister, Liz, Bobbeh, Odin. All the people that helped take care of me when I first came here. I would be here if not for them. AR: And if you had anything to say to our readers, and people of LS. Whether they're new to the city or fervent listeners, what would it be? EG: Never sell out who you are as a person., love everybody. Even if you don't agree with them, and you don't have to like someone to be nice to them. Manners and courtesy are free, not many things in this world are free. It never kills to be nice to others. The hour or so we spent together was quite relaxed, at the time she was managing her radio station and taking requests. It didn't hamper our interview in any regard, as a matter of fact, it showed her dedication to interact with her fans. We took pauses for her to put on music, but as we can all see DJ Egorka is nothing but a wholesome woman. Her words in this interview uplifted me as we spoke, and hopefully, her dedication to her friends and fans will reach far and wide. "Who knew that you could arrange words and sounds in such a way that makes like trance. It's magic." - DJ Egorka More From Saints DJ AoI interview Interview with a Dominatrix Saints News #ForSaintsBySaints

  6. Pretty much this. Maybe you know a rich person, a rich few friends, or you're from a rich family, but there are many, MANY different types of "rich people" and among those types there are dozens of subtypes with a lot of complexity. Many sociologists spent an unhealthy amount of time mapping the richest and poorest layers of society, to find out it's an exceedingly complex topic. As a consequence, RP'er A's vision of "how RP'ing rich should be like" will be wildly different from RP'er B's vision. And the thing is: both might be right, or equally wrong. A simple example: the origin of said wealth, and the upbringing, are important factors. You have a lot of different people who become rich in various manners. The old-world heirs are one example. Most times those people will have children mostly in order to preserve their patrimony. They know they're rich, they've been rich for 15 generations, they feel like they're better than everyone else and can be highly disconnected from what the real world actually is. The business-rich are another. People who weren't rich, but well-off to begin with, started a business and made it big because of luck and/or hard work (often a mix of both). While they won't be as disdainful as the previous ones, they'll often live in a fantasy where hard work means becoming rich and they often ignore the part of luck they had or the outside help. The rags to riches are yet another. They were never destined to become wealthy but still did, and they act like they THINK a rich person should. Shaquille O'Neal talked a lot about this situation he found himself in, when he spent a whole 1 million dollars in 24 hours, when he was 20, not even realizing it was that much. The street crime rich, another one. Become rich thanks to dubious activities, it's a world where flaunting your wealth is a major exercise since you HAVE to do it to show you're boss, but you have to do it without getting caught by the IRS - it's a very, very bling world sometimes. The corporate crime rich, the next. Embezzled a lot of money, bought a few houses in suspicious islands, won't flaunt his wealth too much but most often, when you scam money out of people to be rich, you want to use that money... So they often end up showing their cash. A bit too much sometimes... The idealist rich, other one. The person who has an ideal, somehow made a lot of money, and wants to make the world a better place that way by thriving towards that ideal they have. Elon Musk would be one with his whole "let's become an interplanetary species" thing. The right place right time rich. They had a great idea. If they had the same idea 6 months before, or after, they would have failed, but the stars were aligned and they made it super big, à-la Bill Gates or Steve Jobs. Again, those people won't behave like any of the previous categories. The cyberpunk rich. They made it big, they know how influential they are, they don't care whether their actions will make the world a better or worst place, and they live like the boss of a cyberpunk company (à-la Richard Branson who lives on his private island). The modest rich, next one. Well "modest" is a big word because they live in mansions and hotels that are worth 50 times the GDP of Botswana, but they don't appear much on TV and magazines and such, keeping their personality low-profile and enjoying their wads of money on their own (like Larry Fink). The "daddy's son" rich. Their dad's rich, he bought them an Audi RS6 for their 16th anniversary, they think everything's owed to them and they do show their money everywhere they go (and some here will be shocked: they do sometimes street race, it's been an ongoing problem where I'm living). Think that's a lot? There are at least 150 more types of rich people, and each of those have at least 50 of their own sub-types with different demeanors, approaches to wealth, ways of showcasing it subtly or openly, disdain or empathy for the less fortunate, etc... So, yeah, when someone's telling you "you don't RP rich properly", as if there were like one or two "proper" ways to do it... you can feel free to tell them to shove it. They most likely have no clue what they're talking about and most definitely haven't investigated the question at all.

  10. 'Rascal' & The Internal Audit Ambitious Plans Announced At Press Conference Kalani Jamil A press conference, hosted by Chief of Police Charles Hughes and rarely-seen Chief Justice Greg Joplin was today called to announce the results of the Radley Norton investigation, covered earlier this week by Saints News, in which substantial evidence was found to support the case against Mr Norton from the LSPD, with a shocking two hundred child abuse videos discovered. In the press conference, the Los Santos Police Department also announced a substantial audit undertaken by the Chief Justice, widely considered to be a shock move as the first of its type in recent history. We have the transcript of the press conference below with Charles Hughes beginning the proceedings. ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ Thank you all for joining us today, Before I begin, I would like to introduce our guest of honour for today's press conference, Chief Justice Greg Joplin. The Chief has joined me here today regarding a joint announcement which we will get back to later. First, I have a few announcements to make regarding the day-to-day. To start, I regret to announce the retirement of Captain Bernhardt, the Commander of the Detective Bureau. Captain Bernhardt has served with us for over a decade. He has decided to retire and spend more time with his family. As it stands we are currently looking for his successor within our own ranks, of which more news is to follow as we take care of picking our next candidate for the position. Two days ago, on Wednesday, Detectives assigned to the Cyber Crimes Team apprehended Radley Morton, the individual behind several Facebrowser accounts sharing misinformation, fake news and child pornography. The Detective Bureau seized a plethora of storage devices, remote streaming devices and personal computers from his domicile, for which an electronic search warrant was obtained. The electronic search warrant yielded results from the devices. After having thoroughly searched the devices, over two thousand pictures were found of underaged children in compromising conditions. Furthermore, about 200 videos were found related to the subject. In co-operation with the District Attorney, The Los Santos Police Department will be filing charges against Radley Morton for all the contents of his personal computers, as well as the storage devices and cam recorders found on site. Furthermore, we are looking into the possibility of charging him with drug trafficking as well, based on information gained from his Facebrowser accounts. The sole question was fielded by Irelia Podhajna, a now-independent blogger. How was the LSPD made aware of all this? As was stated to other agencies on Wednesday, the LSPD caught on to mister Morton when he tried to claim an LSPD applicant was selling Child Pornography. During our due diligence background investigation of said applicant. We looked into the account that posted the information. As the investigation progressed, detectives were able to tie a multitude of Facebrowser accounts to the same person. Detectives were able to tie all the relevant accounts to mister Morton. After having identified mister Morton, the further investigation yielded evidence that mister Morton was offering to sell Child Pornography to users on Facebrowser. This led to the initial search warrant on his property. ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ In today's world, truth is important. Trust is important. Trust in your neighbours, in your family, but also in your government institutions. As I said when I started on this journey, it is my goal to bring the LSPD back into the trust of the community. In today's world, I am proud to be an American. I am proud to have this freedom that has been given to me and that I have a local government I can trust. Others are not so lucky. Look for example at the situation in Hong Kong, where the police and the public have a massive rift between them. Of course this is a very extreme example, but it is an example of how it should not be done. I believe in transparency, and I believe in making this department the best version of itself. A few months ago someone asked me if I would be open to an internal audit of the Internal Affairs Group. I am not. Because I am taking it one step further. The reason I have Chief Justice Joplin here is to announce that under the consent decree, Chief Justice Joplin has offered to perform a full audit of the Los Santos Police Department. To elaborate on the subject, Chief Justice Joplin. Chief Joplin began; Thank you, Chief Hughes. And hello to everyone who was able to attend this conference today. I am going to keep these remarks, rather short and take questions right after, so if you have any please save them till then. The Los Santos Police Department is one of our finest in the country. It's officers, such as the ones in this very room show discipline in their interactions and in their appearance, valor in their duty, and honour of their service. And for that, always they should be given the gratitude and respect from our communities, and from our governing officials. And on my own personal note, I thank them for all the work they do and have strived to assist them in all manners of duty. On this note, Chief Hughes taking a keen interest in the departments' success has asked me to review the state of the department and look for even more areas of improvement for the Los Santos Police Department. This review, or audit if you prefer. Is all apart of a new consent decree between my office, and the city. With signatories from the Chief of Police and Mayor's office directly. The audit will mainly be focused around the different divisions, staffing structure, protocol and regulations, but may extend depending on what is found and or needs to be reviewed and this is all done in coordination with the Chief. We hope, that through this audit of the department. We will be a stronger police force for our community, that the community deserves and can be proud of. As well as have the department serve as a model for the nation. ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ Questions were once again opened to the floor, with the first one being fielded from former Weazel Los Santos director, Irelia Podhajna. Will the results of the audit be announced and or available for us press members to see? Or is that to be decided? It is my full intention to ensure that a public version of the audit, be made available upon completion. However, some of the more detailed and intimate facts involving departmental matters may be censored, however, the report is expected to still provide a comprehensive focus that's easy tor read and digest, giving a full picture of the situation in coordination with the Mayor and Chiefs offices. Saints News issued the next two questions. Will this audit potentially reflect changes on some of the individuals leading the department? This audit will indeed be conducting interviews with various officers, leaders, and staff in evaluating the quality of work and discipline for their positions. We're not going to leave a stone unturned, but ultimately whatever our recommendations are in regards to individuals in the department or so, it will be decided by the leadership of the department, rather then by any form of executive order if it does indeed come to that outcome. In regards to the ability of the audit, what power over the department do you have, is it simply recommendations? This is a consent decree, not a hostile takeover. We have no internal powers within the department nor do we seek it. We simply seek to give an honest review from an outside party and provide recommendations to the leadership if deficiencies are found. ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ The outcome of the audit is yet to be seen, it is currently unknown outside of the above transcript in what the audit may contain or recommend to the department, although we will ensure we publish what we can on its release. 12. Correct me if I'm wrong as I haven't played with these scripts too much, but it does seem like something that could be intermingled with pre-existing scripts such as the shipment delivery system or something similar to the alcohol brewing system. Perhaps utilize similar methods to either create a limited stock to be delivered from place to place. Or allow people to undergo a metal smelting process once again. I'm not certain why mining is unavailable but it might not necessarily have to be quite so complex. Build a forge, actively get various ingredients required to keep said forge going and the metal supplies to smelt down. Just thinking out loud here but it seems like it's plausible.

  18. This has been an issue since mining has been removed, honestly In my opinion there has to be another way to get metal parts besides chopping vehicles. Currently with the new anti theft system it's almost useless and way too risky to steal cars as the risk outweights the benefits which should never be the case. High risk should always be high reward. I think there should be a new business type introduced "Scrapyards" where those businesses would be able to scrap cars and turn them into metal parts, maybe add a timer for the /scrap command where it could take like 30 minutes or so and during that time you would have to rp taking it apart etc to prevent instant scrapping of cars. Scrapping expensive cars makes no sense so it could be limited to only be under a certain value for example under 100k and also only second hand cars (if possible to script) so that scrapyards would not buy cars from dealerships and promote this second hand car market Possibly even require a certain mileage for the car to be able to be scrapped. The system could also be expanded to be able to craft more things than just switchblades or brass knuckles.

  20. People are born into wealth every day somewhere in the world. It's not a new concept nor is it out of the ordinary. Choosing where your development goes after that is the important part. I would agree that a better explanation than "my parents were rich" should be created, but I don't mind that angle of where someone starts rich. Part of life is that some people start with nothing and some people start with everything. Quality over quantity at this point. You can create a quality, rich character from the start. It seems that very few have done it right on this server and most characters are overnight rags to riches, which is why there is all the negative stigma towards the subject.

  21. Incoming wall of text ? @DLimit : How to RP rich is really subjective. I've seen plenty of responses on here about a "right" way to RP rich. That is very narrow minded, to be honest. I've seen plenty of examples of rich people (in real life) who flaunt it every chance they get because they want people to know it. They want to feel superior to others by showing how rich they are. Others you would never know are rich because that's how they prefer to live. I've personally known a millionaire who still shops at Walmart. Either way, it's not wrong. In role play, where the flaws start to show is your character story and development. The issue up to this point has been poor portrayal in the sense that character stories have been pretty weak (not all, but a majority) and lazy: "I work hard as a mechanic and save a lot of money." "I work as an independent courier for a while." "I work as a bartender multiple nights a week." While there is nothing wrong with these stories as a starting point for character development, many on the server carry on lavish lives in world record time (a matter of hours/days) and expect that to explain how they can continue living grand with no more to the story. They go from fishers, to mechanics, to bar owners in a matter of days / weeks with zero development and all of a sudden they are living the rich life. Mechanics who have worked at a shop for 3 days and suddenly they are driving a fully modified, expensive car with zero explanation as to where that money came from. Bartenders driving top of the line sports cars with a "my tips are good" explanation. This is where it becomes poor portrayal and why so many people are negative towards the "Rich RP" on this server. TL;DR - Choose any direction you want. That's the beauty of RP. Do you want to start at the bottom and work your way up? Or do you want to start out as a rich individual? Are you going to be a cocky SOB who shows off or someone who lives a humble life? Either way, you have to craft a backstory that fits. While crafting your story and developing your character ask yourself the question, "If PLM were to show up and ask me the why's and how's of my character, would I have a good answer?"

  22. Username: Scotthid Comment: Cut that bullshit. You are not here to remove racing out of the streets, three days ago I went hiking with some friends near Alamo Sea and I just saw your white cars with racing suits ENDANGERING lives driving at high speed on those tracks, you are no better than anyone that does street racing. Also, it's really interesting, so you associate with EA just for the money but you have no ties with them? Sounds fun to me. And for the record, I'm blocking you from facebrowser and the next time you spread lies about LSAC, me or anyone tied to me, the next thing you will see on your door is a subponea for commiting slander. Take care.
