  3. Having spent over a year in PD, it's becoming more and more common that criminals are shooting their way out of incidents. I can't recall a pursuit in the past week that I've been to where it didn't end in either an admin jail, the person being told to re-roleplay something, or simply just getting shot down for pulling a gun. This post is not intended to address the other side of the argument, i.e. "cops should be CKed if they die in the line of duty." It has been in the past where people who, against overwhelming odds, pull a gun to avoid jail time are force CKed - they have to wait out IRL because they can just respawn and be on their way in less than 5 minutes. There are also cases where criminals have CKed as a result of their actions. I'd like to highlight two memorable ones here. The first one being Charlotte Mayfair - her character quickly deteriorated into a criminal as a result of a series of incidents I'm not fully aware of, but they included becoming involved in a romantic relationship with Rot Garden - whose head was shortly thereafter removed - and killing a cop: Once Mayfair was caught, she was arrested and charged with first degree murder. As a result, she CKed the character and roleplayed it as a life sentence. I liked that (and not just because it means no paperwork) because it highlighted the downward spiral her character took before having to deal with the consequences of her actions. Most people would just take the 30 hours and continue evading the cops like nothing happened. The second one is fairly recent - Jordan Crowell. A high risk arrest warrant was placed against Crowell for various crime related things. He pulled a gun on LSPD's Metro and was very promptly turned into a human sieve. He CKed. This is notable because he's one of the only people in Forum Drive to do this. I don't know whether the CK was forced or voluntary, but every time I've tried to serve a warrant on a criminal and they die, they go "nah PK" which means two things: The warrant against them is now deemed "served" as they "died" as a result of the warrant execution and so the PD can't take that any further. The LSPD's time was wasted as this person will most likely just go back to doing the exact same thing that led to the warrant being served in the first place. Now, you might ask, Westen, what's your solution? Whenever someone makes the distinct, clear decision to end their character's life as opposed to facing the consequences of their actions, they should be CKed. This would rely on the totality of the circumstances and not just "oh they pulled a gun" and I believe it should be down to PLM to review after the fact. There is a small time discrepancy between this though, between the time of death and PLM making their decision.

  6. This weird idea that seems to only originate and flourish on FiveRP, and now GTA:W servers that we aren’t a RPG server is pretty funny. At our core, this is a RPG. A role-playing game. Within RPG’s, there are tons and tons of different games and styles, all with their own flavore. There’s traditional games like DnD which can last months, linear RPG’s where there are skill rankups like Skyrim, short round-based RPG’s like Space Station 13 that doesn’t have any type of stat system, etc. GTA:W just happens to be a very long term RPG server with no stat system where players can choose what level they start at. What matters in a “role-playing game” is roleplaying within the confines of a game. Whether or not you want to start at the top, middle, or bottom, what matters is that you roleplay a dynamic character. I see no problem with starting at the top, as long as your character actually changes and grows, either in a healthy or unhealthy direction, or both.

  7. So, I can understand cops not wanting to take a CK if they die by some criminal who's not really in it for the RP, but for the money and dat gangsta lyfe. Same way that the majority of criminal RPers don't really wanna take a needless CK from a driveby or some shoot out from conflict in between gangs. But at the same time, if you're on your 25th murder charge and still rocking around in the streets, that's a quality issue that should be addressed.

  13. Ryan David Price was born April 12, 1983, in Dayton Ohio. He lived the normal suburban life as a child. His father worked hard to make ends meet, and Ryan was able to focus on his schoolwork and athletics - both of which he excelled in. His perfectionist and neurotic tendencies were apparent from a young age, driving Ryan to do well in his endeavors but not endearing him to his peers. Regardless of his skills as a basketball player, for which he'd receive a scholarship to Northwestern University, his good looks, and his academic achievements, Ryan was never 'popular'. He tended to enjoy not being the center of attention. Having excelled most in writing, Ryan majored in Journalism at Northwestern - balancing his workload with his athletic obligations. He graduated summa cum laude and took a job with the Chicago Tribune out of college. He'd work there for fourteen years, working his way up to a managing editorial role. Feeling like he'd "made it" and wishing for a new chapter and challenge, Ryan ended his career at the Tribune and headed West to San Andreas, taking a job as Editor in Chief with the smaller but more independent outlet Saints News. As a thirty-six-year-old veteran of the journalism industry, Ryan has continued his propensity for tireless work since his arrival in Los Santos.

  14. There is also the issue that most of the jobs that would realistically get you enough money to be that rich... wouldn't make you rich, on GTAW. It's part of the remark I made on another thread, about the deliverables and the price they're estimated at, on the server, compared to real life. One example among many: IRL, your rich dad pays a fancy business school for you, he knows someone at that big company, they take you as a senior manager as soon as you're out of school, within 10 years you're director of marketing and within 20 you're an exec. On GTAW... your dad doesn't exist, the big company doesn't exist, there is no need for a director of marketing and even less so of an exec. And if you tell people "My char's family is rich and he's doing a marketing office job", you'll be told "Oh you don't RP your job that's bad RP you suck at RP you can't RP rich". ?

  15. So I'm sure something similar has been discussed many times and probably the general answer is "Wait for prison system" But why is PD not allowed (or not willing to maybe?) to apply for CK's on big cases or very serious criminals with many repeated offenses? So with this whole EA case the company was found to have murderers, law breakers, racers etc as part of the company but in reality nothing is really going to happen and those people are probably doing nothing to hide themsleves or even afraid of the consequences of their actions. Everyone knows that are are plenty of criminals with multiple murders on their records yet they do their few days jail time, walk out free and go on and commit another murder absolutely anywhere, get caught do a few more days and keep on repeating the same thing over and over. I'm not saying that every criminal should be cked (put in prison for life) but there certainly has to be a line somewhere to make things more realistic and actually matter. Currently any large criminal faction has no issue of commiting murders in the open because the worst that could happen is them getting few days of jail if caught. The investigative work done by Emilia Russo probably took a huge amount of hours and rp and it's actually amazing but all of that will basically amount to nothing as those people behind that company will be basically forgotten within a few weeks time they will close down their company, buy some new business and happily run it, there is zero consequences for any of their actions. Having actual threat to your characters would make people actually think before they do something stupid in the open, force them to hide their illegal activities if they are craving for it. Figure out some elaborate ways to continue with their things or from the fear of being cked completely stop and rething their life choices. We all know that majority of "mall rats" own PF guns and any agressive actions towards them no matter who you are will result in you getting killed. You pull out a bat to beat someone up because they did something to your character? They will simply draw a gun on you and kill you, having no fear of anything except losing the PF license and a few days of gameplay on their character makes them feel invincible because even if their character does get killed they don't care about it as they are not part of any faction and have no bigger responsibilities to answer for their actions. In my opinion with proper actual evidence gathered there should be serious consequences just like any civ/crim can apply for a CK to end someones character with enough evidence/reason through the CK application

  16. I'm going to lock this discussion. The new DA system and how things operate will be a big change in things on this. This may include CKs in the future and something people shouldn't stress about. Faction Management has handled situations like these before, and have been applied for in the past. We takes these situations very seriously, as we're pushing closer and closer to realism.

  17. Generally clothing commands, but basically With /cstats you can see the clothing IDs your character's wearing, which could help with sharing outfits privately or publicly, example: Hat: 4, 2 Shirt: 17, 4 Pants: 55, 1 Etc. With /torso [ID] you can RPly change out your gloves. Although I don't think it'll get used by newer players, players that are familiar with the clothing system would really appreciate it. Let's say you're going for a swim, you'll have to do it with gloves if you can't change your outfit at the given time. Let's say you're breaking in a house, and while getting away the cops bump into you and see you're wearing gloves, a big red flag. Let me know what you guys think, perhaps someone could even expand on this.

  22. Nobody has anything to fear with the new life rules. I’ve seen members of PD stroll into heavily gang controlled areas alone and then report when they are ‘deathmatched’ after bothering random gang members on their own turf. It’s a general problem, not a problem that only one side of the argument is guilty of. There are things in the works to assist with this issue (ie prison, etc) but that doesn’t mean the only issue here is one sided.

  23. I guess for the same reason that PD don’t want to accept CKs for getting shot in the line of duty. Yes, serious criminals could be CK’d but so could police officers given their jobs are dangerous and the chances of them being badly wounded are high - real life and in roleplay. Asking this question is almost setting up two sides - PD and criminals. It doesn’t have to be like that, but there’s a mentality on both sides that makes it so. Question should be ‘why won’t anyone take a CK if they’ve acted in a way that recklessly endangered their own life?”

  24. Executive Insecurity... Continued A Continued and Closer Look Into Executive Security/Association's Erratic and Troubling Practices Ryan D Price Yesterday's piece from Saints by Emilia Russo took a deep dive into the seemingly nefarious backstage activities conducted by Executive Association staff, leadership, and its associates. This ranged from illegal street racing to the employment of minors as well as serving minors alcoholic beverages. In the interest of keeping said piece short, this portion - which points out more troubling incompetence on the part of Executive - was not included. The behavior of EA partner and AURA owner and Ashley Hendricks seems to be erratic, especially in relation to her professional relationship with John Monroe and both of Executive's branches as well as Bloodhound Security Services - whom she originally contracted to handle her nightclub's security. An insider with Bloodhound told Saints, "She says that she never hired us, but I have FaceBrowser messages to show it." The source did, indeed. This set of messages does show that not only was Bloodhound hired for AURA's grand opening but that they, upon Hendricks' express request, gave a discount to AURA in return for a guarantee that their services would be used moving forward. Our source told us that on the night of the AURA's grand opening both Executive Security and Bloodhound staff showed up and Hendricks elected to keep all guards on the clock, not seeming to know who was who or what was going on. Executive security staff made at least one attempt to ban a patron from entering the club based on a personal grudge. When confronted about this, the Executive Security staff member became hostile. However, midway through AURA's next opening on Saturday, October 12, Hendricks took Bloodhound aside and told them to go home. It would seem Executive Security - despite their proven ineptitude - would be taking on the contract. This came after a disagreement during the October 12 opening at the door of the club between a duo of underaged girls attempting to enter. "We wouldn't let them in, they talked to John Monroe on the radio and said he told them they're allowed in." All of this came after an underaged patron walked past security and into the club without showing her ID. Upon being caught up with by our source, the girl first namedropped Hendricks with a threat to the Bloodhound guard. A friend of the underaged girl then proceeded to offer a bribe for her to be allowed to stay in the club. This was witnessed by Saints News staff on site. Our source said of the encounter, "Then the dark-haired chick leans in and offers me three thousand bucks to look the other way like I'm some Soviet border guard." Another source close with Executive had this to say via email about the October 12 opening and the continued pattern of disorganized and incompetent behavior by Hendricks and Executive, "There has been a lot of uproar within EA and from their clients, mostly Nightclub Aura and their security issues. There was a public argument on who held the Security Contract, BH (Bloodhound) or ES (Executive Security) but it was ultimately left off as an ES contract. Ashley was late for the opening as well, coming in an hour late which left the staff very frustrated as many of them didn't have access to the fridges nor alcohol supplies . An outburst from ES staff member [REDACTED] against Ashley was fierce, calling out Ashley's unprofessionalism. A massive argument erupted while the club was still open over pay disputes. Unknown if everyone got paid." More troubling is the fact that at AURA's grand opening, where a Saints News journalist - Aska Redan - was present to review the club, Hendricks offered a quid-pro-quo in exchange for a favorable review. The offer was not accepted. Bloodhound being inexplicably and abruptly removed from AURA under the pretense of having never been hired, of course, came on the heels of Executive Security's debacle at Galaxy nightclub two days prior. This incident was covered by Saints News, causing former Executive CEO (her current title is unknown) Holly Ambrose to respond with an alleged copy of an incident report written at the time of the said incident as well as a rant against this outlet. On the same day this piece was written, a source familiar with the situation told Saints News that Bloodhound has now been assigned to cover the security operation at Galaxy by John Monroe, effectively being switched with Executive between AURA and Galaxy. This decision was made by Monroe himself who, in a recent interview with Saints said, "Considering the issue was there and the backlash it had on the media platforms. I contacted ES and told them that they are scrapped from Galaxy. Then I contacted Mia from Bloodhound to inform them that they can take the venue if wanted." This, if correct, means that while Monroe who claims about Galaxy that "we have it in management for the time being." is receiving a new security team, but no shakeup in management - it will still be overseen by Monroe and EA. Also important to note is that multiple sources have cited John Monroe as the current CEO of Executive Security. He denies this, saying, "Completely different company. They do solely security. We do staff and management." This clashes with Hayley Cross's expressed reason for terminating Cross Munitions' partnership with Executive Security - Monroe holding the CEO spot. After the situation at Galaxy, Executive Security lost its partnership with Cross Munitions. When asked via text message if she'd like to delve deeper into the reasoning behind the divorce, Hayley Cross said, "Negative PR over the last few weeks, security issues, and complaints about John Monroe taking the CEO position at ES [Executive Security]. We're looking to partner with reputable firms, but the latest backlash pushed it too far." Soon after losing Cross as a partner, Executive lost Prescott Entertainment. A representative from Prescott had this to say about their own departure, "The biggest reason for us to end the partnership is the bad press lately against EA. We don't wish to get the same bad press, so we decided to protect our own brand and reputation. It was also frowned upon by EA that we were [working with] other clubs. Monroe once called [Prescott Entertainment] when we had a gig with Fusion and said, 'Shit, we normally don't supply them.'" When asked why EA and ES seem to continuously find themselves in controversy, the representative replied, "Mismanagement and not learning from past mistakes." They went on to agree that the nightlife industry as a whole has seemingly had enough of Executive. Combined with the propensity for controversy that Executive has, this level of disorganization and incompetence is seemingly beginning to loosen the company's grip on LS's nightlife scene. Yesterday's article from this outlet exposed mountains of evidence pointing to Executive's activities ranging from unethical to downright criminal. With an LSPD investigation into the company well underway, it's hard to foresee Executive's future being bright. 25. This is an interesting topic. In my experience, it's quite rare to bump ways with someone who has a realistic-rich type of character. It's usually people with unexplained assets driving Pariahs or other expensive cars, perhaps managing a nightclub, you get the idea. I have to say that @Conway has one of those rare few characters that are rich, yet keep it low-key, as explained by @Hugh-Gi-Oh. For some form of an "elite club" to work, there needs to be a change of perspective. It's not going to be particularly exciting if only 2-3 realistically rich characters are part of said club. My personal, main character is also rather wealthy and I thoroughly enjoyed building the character to her current state over the span of almost a year. Now? All she can do is keep working, expand business and make more and more "contacts". She doesn't flaunt said wealth and instead invests it into business or hobbies, which she has more time for now. Tldr: for an "elite club" to work, people need to realize that there's a massive difference between a rich person and a poser. Nonetheless, I'd like to see that idea in action.

  29. The main issue is people need to be willing to RP a character who would use these services on a daily basis and I feel that would not be a majority of players at this point, unfortunately, With the starter paychecks and the availability of vehicles to start (bicycles, scooters, motorcycles, the mid-$20,000 cars), the Uber/Taxi/Bus jobs will stay underutilized. Of course, I understand that this is supposed to be more about role play than anything else, but that is the reality of it. People aren't going to use buses, ubers & taxis simply because I believe many feel its an inconvenience. They'll either use the checks to buy their own transportation or get a friend to drive. As @Tr1bal mentioned above, unless people are sort of forced into a situation where they would need to use a bus, taxi or Uber, they aren't going to (nearly as often). Then we enter into the territory where people complain about their RP choices being limited. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. As they say.

  30. Repost from the forum rollback. Created this due to the buggy preview for the Moles/Freckles section of the plastic surgeon shops. I noticed that the Moles/Freckles section of the face customisation area didn't seem to work very well for a lot of people, so I went through, screenshotted each of the Moles/Freckles options at 100% opacity and compiled them all into this handy little guide. Hope this helps some of you, as I myself found freckles to be quite the pain to experiment with without wasting money on purchasing them over and over to preview them. So here it is!~
