  1. It is no surprise to most of you that over the last few days things have been moving quickly in the staff team. Following Maca's resignation, Eyebrows and Rukka are also departing. We've had months of conflicts and miscommunication that collectively led to a wall for all of us and started to affect our friendship and health. We spent three days together discussing how to fix the communication issues, as well as attempting to find solutions to the arguments we were having in the past. While we could all agree on the end goal, we could not agree on the methods to reach that goal. We concluded that it was best if we parted ways until a future date. Eyebrows' replacement as head of Faction Management is impossible, as her work was appreciated by everyone. She put thousands of hours into shaping the server standards into where they are today and helping most of you the best she could. We cannot thank her enough for all the work she put in publicly and behind the scenes. Some of you obviously had open conflicts with the Faction Management team and expressed them. While some concerns were legitimate, most reports against Faction Management were as a result of them maintaining a high roleplay standard across all factions. These complaints were players choosing to report Faction Management instead of improving themselves or their factions. A new head of Legal Faction Management will be appointed in the near future. In the meanwhile all Faction Management requests must be redirected to me where I will forward them to the team. Since I'll be actively participating in reshaping FM, I will be a direct witness to factions being unwilling to work with Faction Management and instead opting to report them. These of you who are targeted by this message will know who you are. I already warned you that I will be stricter than ever on your roleplay standards. While the methods used by Faction Management will be different, we still plan on enforcing high standards on all factions. As for everyone else, I wish to express that Faction Management is not going away and it is not changing its end goal: Helping factions, improving faction roleplay and the overall server standards with them. Some changes that were already started by Rukka and Eyebrows are going to be pushed soon in a more visible way for everyone: IC endpoints: Faction Management decisions to improve the server will go through IC decisions and characters to manage IC flow of the server in a natural way instead of adhering to some articifial OOC constructs. An example would be the governor that will influence the current mayor and put actual political pressure from the State Government that the mayor will have to weight against the scenario in an IC manner. For illegal factions, it can live through suppliers with specific backgrounds as it was already happening. More autonomy & trust for factions, but stricter expectations: This was already an ongoing discussion I had with Eyebrows and a subject that mattered to many factions to avoid the feeling of being micromanaged. Faction Management will set clear goals based on what they observe, and will then regularly meet with the faction leader to evaluate the progression toward that goal, while giving more trust and autonomy on the road to reach it. Invite every relevant stakeholders around the table to reshape Faction Management: Faction leaders and current FM members will all speak together to make sure we restart on a clean base for everyone, and give a chance to any leaders to express any concerns or issues they might have had. Supplier applications : All the pending applications will be answered in the next 72 hours if positive In a final comment, despite all our disagreements and conflicts I would want to thank you one last time for everything you achieved as Head of Faction Management, Eyebrows. I hope that you'll look as proud as I was when looking at how we progress in the future. Everyone is obviously free to message me on Discord as usual for any concerns or discussions.

  2. "its ok to not be ok" is just a public document of my notes, basically. I don't intend on people to like or follow this, this is for my own personal use. If you want to follow the character development of my character feel free to do so, however, I am more than aware no one writes in "cursive" although I do, not so much cursive but in that style. I've been making notes on my phone regarding Selena's development and I think I'm confident enough to post small edits I make of the notes I have for you guys to see. I keep track of everything she does, events, people she meets, her feelings, arguments, holidays, you name it, I've got it. I think this also gives you an insight of what sort of life she leads and I personally find it diverse, different and somewhat reckless. So to ensure you that I do roleplay and do exist, here I present some of my crap artwork.

  3. Eighties Night at HEAT By Lola Mendoza “Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life.” My short visit to HEAT Nightclub last night turned out to be a wonderful journey back to the golden days of the eighties. The atmosphere truly spoke for the club, let alone the overwhelming positivity everyone shared throughout the night. It was thrilling and elating, but perhaps that's the tequila speaking on my behalf. Regardless, it stands as one of the more intriguing nights I've had in Los Santos. And who else to compliment but DJ Rina! She was a wonder to witness, providing the entire club with phenomenal and nostalgic eighties hits, ensuring the flow back in time was infinite! Her irresistible, magic performance made everyone bounce to their feet and dance until the sweat melted them away into nothingness! The night was her's, and she made sure to grasp onto the opportunity and forward the happiness to everyone else - for which the crowd expressed our gratitude. More kudos go to the amazing service provided at the bar itself. A pair of barmaids ensured that our adventures through time did not cease. Besides, what else do you need other than amazing music and a good drink to have a lovely time! Unfortunately, a few accidents occurred during the night, albeit nothing majorly concerning for the crowd. At one point, prior to my arrival at the club, a woman fainted for reasons unknown. However, an ambulance was quickly dispatched from LSFD to sort the situation and aid the troubled woman. Mind that DJ Rina was consistently trying to calm the situation over the microphone and before you knew it everyone was dancing again like nothing had happened! After the club closed, everyone elegantly walked outside with rumors of an after-party. There were no incidents, except for a few clumsy, drunken folks that kissed the pavement. All in all, eighties night at HEAT was very satisfying! Saints News

  4. AMBERT ALERT: Staff and journalists of Weazel News After over ten days of silence, and a month of no noticeable activity, the government of San Andreas state has decided to run a state-wide Amber Alert for the workers and journalists of Weazel News. Anyone seeing any of them or hearing of the whereabouts of the news organization should immediately report to the LSPD or call the governor's office. For those who aren't aware of the situation, Weazel News hasn't shown signs of life for well over a month now. The only articles published were ones pre-written by the LSPD, such as those flaunting their new vehicles or the Chief of Police's interview. However, as soon as this pre-written content reached its end, no word was heard from the offices of the historical news outlet. And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. And for two and a half weeks, Weazel News passed out of all knowledge. Image: Weazel News™ It's only after a most concerning article was published that the LSPD started investigating. Indeed, the last announcement about an "entertainment" section, while Weazel wasn't even able to produce any normal news, was seen as a message of alert and a call for help from the few people still alive there. Los Santos' finest immediately drove to the scene but, alas!, the offices were found empty with no sign of the people working there. After it became obvious that none of the journalists and staff working there left any track, the LSPD decided to launch this Amber Alert. Their pictures will also be printed on milk cartons, as well as beer cans and lubricant bottles (although a true man uses Vicks VapoRub). As always, we will make sure to let you know should their whereabouts be found - or their untimely doom. Paints news is a news outlet, providing the most dubious information from the less reliable sources. Nothing we post should be taken as fact, unless you really have no critical sense. 7. 18th century event takes unexpected turn following date confusion It was supposed to be the big event, for HEAT nightclub. Most nightclubs are seen as abodes of debauchery, drugs and alcohol, and DJ Rina had a marvelous idea to dispell that vision. For a night, instead of celebrating mediocre music and alcoholic drinks, the young DJ offered to provide the denizens of Los Santos with an immersive experience in the glory of the 18th century, its culture and its timeless customs. As expected, the management team at the HEAT nightclub was delighted with such an opportunity to stand apart. Unfortunately, things took a most unexpected turn after a minor communication mistake - one that would prove fatal to the whole event. The night was advertised as a 1780s night, but the marketing agency believed it was a 1980s night, thus leading them to write "80s night" everywhere. As can be expected, most interested parties believed the theme was the 1980 decade, instead of the originally expected 18th century as a whole. Credit: CAW Photos The security team, of course, at first tried to correct the mistake made by the various people who decided to attend. « We told them it was more like a renaissance fair, » one of them assured us, « but they just laughed and thought we were bein'funny or something. ». DJ Rina, for her part, quickly realized her efforts had gone to waste. An orchestra specialized in chamber music had to be dismissed - but still paid regardless - and the various assortments of foods, originally prepared for the traditional feast, were discarded and replaced with cheap candy and sodas. « We can't say it was a bad night, of course, » noted the manager of the HEAT nightclub, « we made a lot of money and had a lot of customers. Just not the way we expected is all. ». As for DJ Rina, she still played her part, unenthusiastically playing some 1980s disco music. « Fuck's sake, I had hired violInists. D'you know how hard it is, to find VIOLINISTS in Los Santos? All that to finally play dumb Disco MP3s... », she confided. In spite of this setback, however, she's still very decided to show the people of Los Santos that night clubs, just like museums, can be a place of fun and learning. She confided in us, sharing that she wants to prepare « An awesome evening based on the myth of the 20 knights who protected Gunderland in the late 1500s, called the 20 Lions. We will call it a "Roaring 20s" night, sounds catchy doesn't it? And at least, no confusion with dates, this time around. ». Paints news is a news outlet, providing the most dubious information from the less reliable sources. Nothing we post should be taken as fact, unless you really have no critical sense. For more not-so-dependable information, do follow us on Facebrowser. We cannot, however, make the 1980s cool. Nobody can.

  12. Everything is possible nowadays especially with GTA V. I think it would be possible, however, the bugs would have to be rectified and amended rather quickly if it were to cause a crash. I say "IF" very strongly because I'm not certain. I'm going off with experience.

  14. I've found that associating with your character past a certain point can prove unhealthy and lead to really awkward scenarios which often don't end well. Administrating in other communities, I often seen the worst of this and it's very hard to tread situations like these. You should always distinguish yourself from your character enough to where you always ask 'what would my character do in this situation?' not 'what would I do in this situation?'. Sadly, alot of people take IC events personally, and in my early days, I was one of those people. Simply disconnecting your characters actions from yours is the way to go, and avoids all of these issues. The best way to avoid this is to simply put alot of planning into your character beforehand and take out alot of guesswork if you're having issues with this. If you're a more experienced roleplay, it's alot easier to wing it a little more.

  15. Similarities between a character and a writer are always going to happen, whether you realize it or not! Why? Well, I don't know - I personally avoid it, but some people seem to openly do it. If someone wants to project their own personality onto a character, then that is their choice. That character might still be unique to someone that does not know the player behind it. There is a sum of things I usually project through my character, like music. It's difficult for me to pretend my character likes listening to something I personally do not, especially if it comes up during roleplay. I'd just be tabbing out to look up everything in the middle of roleplay just to prove my character is not an idiot - assuming they aren't meant to be. Anyway, my point is - It's okay to roleplay something similar to yourself, but that can get unhealthy. I've personally had unfortunate experiences with a player or two that could not separate in-character events with out-of-character events, and it was rather awkward. Try to build up a wall between yourself and your character. If something happens, stop, put yourself in the eyes of your character and act on that. "Would I do that, or would my character do that?"
