(Source: Saints News) Seasoning The Nightlife Looking Onto The Future A month after our analysis of the nightlife scene in Los Santos, we look onto a broader view of the industry as a whole - do inexperienced and inept, but cash-rich owners simply try their luck for a paycheck, or is there something deeper at play forcing nightclubs into a sense of conformity? The nightlife scene in Los Santos is currently rich in a handful of genres - forcing an upsetting state of affairs for fans of other genres of music, namely; rock, old school hip hop, and to some extent, even regular pop. While the effort of some business owners has not gone unnoticed, namely Tequila-la-la for attempting to break the mold with their Karaoke Nights, the nightlife scene in general still seems stale - with nightclubs seemingly propped up simply by the desire of the public to socialise with others over a drink, while some may argue that it is down to the people to 'vote with their wallets' on this issue, the reality is much different - it seems as if the public has little choice in the matter - with only one or two nightclubs being open at any one time, and either way, both of them usually show themselves to be quite similar. While outfit nights and the such are quite fun, outside of them, the experience continues to feel quite hollow. We spoke to long-term nightclub owner and industry expert, Lance Jackson, to discover where others have gone wrong, and what can be done to secure the future of a successful, dynamic nightlife. It's the thought that this industry is easy money, it's not. They see that ''oh this guy has a nice suit, he has a nightclub full of people buying drinks, paying just for entrance'', it's not like that, not at all. If that's the reason you decided to open a nightclub, you will fail. Sadly that's the reason for most of these people, they hype up their nightclub, open it once and then wonder why they can't get the same numbers others do, then close or sell it a month later, asking idiotic amounts for a club that's worth half of what they want. What are they doing wrong? Oh, there are tonnes of things that nightclub owners do wrong, the biggest problem is the fact that they focus on money. As I mentioned before, they think it's easy, just sit back while your pockets are getting filled. It takes a lot of work and knowledge, you need proper staff, you need a schedule, you have to make people want to come back, keep on grinding. It might seem that I have it all, but The Dungeon Crawler existed for more than a year and it was opening every week under my management for like what.. six months? I don't care about the money, I have enough of it, I just want to provide some quality nightlife entertainment to people of LS, that's what I'm into and that's what I do, I started from the bottom with this place and worked my ass off to get it where it is now and money was the last thing motivating me. I had openings where I paid my staff from my own pocket, yes we had low numbers, but I was still motivated to keep giving people what they want, which is quality nightlife entertainment. Another thing, they refuse to listen to people. Look it's good that you're confident in what you do, but it's not for you to decide what's good, at the end of the day it's the people who give you their money to have some good time in your nightclub. If you refuse to listen to them or you can't take a negative opinion about it.. just get rid of the nightclub because you ain't built for this, I'm sorry but I can't stand those people, they simply don't understand how it works and won't listen to anyone, reason why a lot of clubs close. My club was reviewed a lot of times, mostly positive opinions, but also some negative ones as well. For example, back in the day, a Weazel News reporter came to look at it, she didn't like it much, instead of telling her to get out, I sat her down and we talked things through, what was good what was bad, then I kept on making it better until it's perfect. Opinions from friends, staff, everyone helps a lot. So, if you can't learn from negative opinion, just get out, I'm embarrassed to be in the same industry with these people, but then again, they don't last long and eventually die out. Another common mistake, no schedule. They just open whenever they feel like it, not giving people a chance to plan and also, they do it too often until nobody even cares. Get a proper schedule where you don't open 7 times a week and let people know when you open. You're not ''exclusive'' if I can come to your place every day whenever I feel like it. What nightclubs had a lot of potential but failed to realise this, and why? This is a good one, short answer? Most of the nightclubs. Some places are simply so bad I just visit them once and understand that yeah, this place is not here for much longer. But to answer your question, the first that comes to mind is 1965. The owner was a businessman, he knew how to manage his money and the place looked great, after a month, it was on sale, I didn't even have a chance to visit! But - it is what it is, seems like whoever bought it is taking their sweet time, so most likely, the place that had so much potential is gone. Galaxy is another one, was great, owners did a good job, had a schedule, had good numbers, but for some reason, it's barely opening nowadays and I don't see the owners much, who by the way, was managing The Dungeon Crawler at some point. They opened a couple lately so that might be a new chapter for them if they continue, so not all of the potential is lost, their start was a good one though. Bahama Mamas is another good place, known name, good location, but is not really managed that well, then again, it's not dead, there's time to revive the place, but as it is now, I'd say it's not in a good state. Back in the day Euphoria had a lot of potential, got sold then opened by someone new with a disgusting interior if you ask me, but now? It's dead. The numbers of their first openings showed that it had a lot of potential, but it failed. What else do we have? The Heat, current owner has a lot of work to do if he wants to revive the place that had a lot of potential back in the day. But this place had what, like 5 owners in 5 months, so I'm not sure about it. There are more nightclubs, but some of them are very old and long forgotten, some are just not worth to even talk about, just another nightclub owned by someone who is not built for this. There's that place... I think it's called The Garden? They surely have a lot of potential by what they advertise and they have been hyping it up for more than a month, it's dangerous because if it opens and it's nothing like they promise, ''The most authentic nightclub in LS'', it might fail before it even picks off. I wish good luck to the owners and hope it goes well, because LS is full of the nightclubs, but the good ones? It's true that the nightlife scene is in desperate need of reform in order to grow, the city is large, and can support many demographics in different places, it's time to cater to different groups of people, rather than 'just anyone'. In this guide, I will outline the details of how to role play aviation properly in accordance with GTA World's server rules, also adding in some legalities from a real world perspective. The intent of this publication is to give you the tools you require to operate your aircraft safely and realistically, all while doing the most important thing: having fun! Let's dig in. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ STEP 1: Purchasing an Aircraft You can purchase a fixed wing aircraft or helicopter at any of the dealerships located in this Vehicle Dealership Guide. You must know, if you don't already, that the prices for these machines are on the higher side. The lowest price for a Buzzard helicopter is $550,000. The prices for all other aircraft go up from there. STEP 2: Parking an Aircraft There are multiple locations on the map that allow for suitable aircraft storage. Below, you'll find some spots that one would reasonably keep their aircraft for safe storage. FIXED WING & HELICOPTERS Los Santos International Airport Sandy Shores Airfield Grapeseed McKenzie Airfield HELICOPTERS ONLY Public Helipads Farmland Privately Owned Fields Grass Areas on Private Property (Non-Residential Areas) STEP 3: Getting your Pilot License Back in the day, you were able to just buy a pilot license for a pretty penny. These days, however, you're able to get your pilot license a couple of different ways. First and foremost, try going to a flight school. At the moment, Blaine Aviation is the only flight school in GTAW. They can be found at the Sandy Shores Airfield in, you guessed it, Blaine County. The going price is roughly $80,000, which includes flight instruction and aircraft rental. They offer both helicopter and fixed-wing flight training. (Disclaimer: Blaine Aviation is in a management transition phase as of this edit (February 16th, 2021), and will hopefully resume operations soon! Additionally, some government / state agencies have flight programs (like fire fighting, search and rescue, and law enforcement) that will get you a pilot license at the end of your training. STEP 4: Flying an Aircraft It goes without saying that the elevation in GTA V is not coincident with real world altitudes. 500 feet above the ground in GTA V is equal to roughly 1,000 feet above the ground in the real world. The ratio between GTA V and realism increases with altitude. 1,000 feet in GTA V is equal to roughly 3,000 feet in the real world, and so on. For the sake of simplicity, I'll be using GTA V altitudes in my examples. HELICOPTERS You should operate your helicopter at no less than 500 feet above the ground, unless you are taking off or landing. 500 feet obviously does not clear the multiple skyscrapers downtown, nor does it provide adequate clearance from the mountainous terrain around the map. So, try to stay 500 feet above whatever you're flying over. Example: Mirror Park is roughly 200 feet in elevation, so you should overfly Mirror Park at no less than 700 feet. This gives you adequate clearance from trees and other obstacles, also clearing you of a "flying too low" violation. You'll be safe at this altitude! Helicopters are very versatile aircraft. You can take them pretty much anywhere, which is a beautiful thing. You've paid enough for your new toy, so you should be able to do with it what you please. I agree with this, but, there are some realistic restrictions you must keep in mind. Landing in a backyard in Mirror Park is NOT acceptable, nor is it realistic by any means. You can, however, land on a secluded beach on the Eastern seaboard of the map. Considering a beach like that isn't a populated area, and you have adequate space to safely land your helicopter, you should be in the clear! Always keep in mind the following: 1. Can I land here safely? 2. Will doing so disturb anybody or anything? 3. Will landing or taking off here cause harm to anyone, including myself and my passengers? 4. Could I articulate and justify this landing to a staff member, should they inquire? If you've answered "yes" to all of these questions, you can probably proceed to land. Use sound judgment, and don't jeopardize your asset or good standing with the community. FIXED WING AIRCRAFT You should operate your fixed wing aircraft at no less than 1000 feet above the ground, unless you are taking off or landing. 1,000 feet obviously does not clear the multiple skyscrapers downtown, nor does it provide adequate clearance from the mountainous terrain around the map. So, try to stay 1,000 feet above whatever you're flying over. Example: the Vinewood sign is roughly 400 feet in elevation, so you should overfly the Vinewood sign at no less than 1,400 feet. Considering fixed wing aircraft cannot "stop" in the sky like a helicopter can, you should ensure your flight path keeps you clear of obstacles such as buildings, mountains, and populated areas. Always have a way to "get out" of undesired flight paths, such as flying too low near downtown. Your ability to escape these situations increases with altitude, so fly high! Fixed wing aircraft aren't as versatile as helicopters. You are restricted to only a handful of airports and landing strips. You should be thoughtful in how you approach these airports. Consider some of the following: 1. Do I have reasonable clearance from all obstacles on my approach? 2. Can I make it to the airport if my engine fails? 3. Will I come too close to any buildings or mountains? 4. Will I be flying too low over a populated area to make a landing? You must always consider all variables in a takeoff or landing. For example, taking off directly over the Vespucci neighborhood might not be the best idea. Consider taking off over the water, gaining altitude, and then fly over the Vespucci neighborhood at a reasonable altitude. That way, if something happens to your aircraft, you have enough time to make a turn back towards the airfield and land safely. Speaking of safe landings, let's talk about those for a moment. You are allowed to descend below minimum safe altitudes to make an approach and landing. One of the more complicated approaches to a landing is to runway 21 at Los Santos International. If you're flying a faster aircraft, like a Buckingham Nimbus, your turning radius is restricted and you need more room to fly a safe approach. I've attached a video on how to properly approach and land on runway 21 in a high speed aircraft. As we've discussed, you can descend below a safe cruising altitude to land at an airport or airfield. We do that in this video. In a smaller, slower aircraft such as a JoBuilt Velum, you could easily turn over the beach and land on runway 21 that way. However, that isn't the case for an aircraft such as the Nimbus. In the video, we keep adequate distance from buildings and mountainous terrain. As we descend lower, we are near the Downtown area. However, if we needed to abandon the approach, we could easily turn to the right and fly out over the water. This allows us the opportunity to avoid the buildings downtown should we encounter an emergency. Now you've seen the most complicated approach into Los Santos International. Let's talk about the more simple approaches, like those to runways 33R, 33L, 12L, 12R, and 3. All of these approaches come in from over the water, which provide you unlimited obstacle clearance. Take a look at the airport diagram below (Credits to MaksymDesigns on GTAForums) If you were to make a takeoff or landing from runways 33L, 33R, 12L, 12R, you'd be over the water, free from any obstructions or buildings. These runways make for a safe takeoff or landing at any time. If you were to depart from runway 3, you'd fly over Puerto Del Sol and the Vespucci area, so be careful if you choose to depart from this runway. Avoid taking off from it especially at night; It is a noise-sensitive neighborhood, and I highly doubt the residents would appreciate a loud airplane taking off over their neighborhood at 2 AM. You can land on runway 3 at any time, considering the approach comes in over the water. Let's talk about some rational decision making. You probably shouldn't land a fast jet on the dirt strip at Grapeseed. One, you won't make it. Two, you'd go down in history as the worst pilot ever. You can take your small Velum or Mammatus in there all day long, but make sure your approach is stabilized and you aren't going too fast! Always give yourself adequate distance to approach the runway at a straight in angle. You don't want to be in a turn as you're coming over the beginning of the runway. You probably won't make it. STEP 5: Communicating in your Aircraft Our wonderful development team has given aircraft and their operators a dedicated command (/atc) to communicate with other aircraft. When you're moving your aircraft in any way, you should broadcast what you're doing over the UNICOM frequency (/atc). For example, if I intend on taking off from Los Santos International from runway 33R, I would say something similar to this: "LSI traffic, Mammatus 123 departing runway 33R, turning to the Northeast". You should include in your broadcasts the following: 1. who you are, 2. where you are, 3. what you're doing. There's no need to speak a novel over the radio. Keep it simple and concise. All you're doing is alerting other aircraft of your position, and in turn, avoiding a collision with other aircraft. You should communicate takeoffs, landings, and prolonged activity over a particular area. Additionally, you should pay attention to what others are saying so you can avoid their location. If you are ever intercepted or interrogated by a law enforcement aircraft, acknowledge them over the UNICOM frequency (/atc) and follow their direction. They could be instructing you to avoid a particular area, or to land for violating aviation regulations. Simply put, do what they say and you won't have any problems. STEP 6: Enjoying your Aircraft Like I've said before, owning and operating your own personal aircraft should be fun and enjoyable. After all, this is a game! We should keep in mind, however, that this is a strict role play community. We want to maintain a level of realism in all that we do. So, following these simple steps will help you keep your aircraft and ability to fly. This guide may not reflect the discretion of GTA World's staff members, so use caution and practice safe flying habits so you don't ruin this niche roleplay for the rest of us. Fly your aircraft responsibly, take off and land responsibly, and park your aircraft at a reasonable location. A parking garage would not be a suitable spot for a helicopter, nor would the Olympic Freeway be reasonable for a fixed wing aircraft. Use good judgment and have fun. STEP 7: San Andreas Aviation Act At the moment, the state government has a copy of the San Andreas Aviation Act, which will hopefully be voted in soon. The Act is comprised of common aviation laws that have been molded to fit GTAW's needs. Safe altitudes, commercial carriers, ultralights, prohibited areas, and other hot topics are listed in the Act. This will give pilots more direction on how to safely operate their aircraft in a realistic manner. Gravedwellers (MC) leader arrested in East Vinewood stop Los Santos, SA (October 29, 2019) - submitted by HELM The leader and several members of the Gravedwellers Motorcycle Club were recently arrested following a traffic stop carried out by the Los Santos Police Department. Fortunately, the department's K9 unit happened to provide reasonable suspicion for a terry frisk on the members which led to charges of carrying an unlicensed firearm. Vincent Meadows is the president of the Los Santos chapter of the Gravedwellers MC, a close-knitted 1%ER motorcycle club who have only recently claimed the entire State of San Andreas. He is the only remaining original founder of the outlaw club. Trent Harper is the road captain of the Los Santos chapter of the Gravedwellers MC, the two bikers have reportedly been charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm. The club is currently under active investigation by the Police Department. The police department has carried out a raid on Tudor Autos and the neighbouring buildings, several bags of marijuana were seized in the bust. However, the outlaw motorcycle club have contested and filed a lawsuit against the police department for an unlawful search, given that the warrant was produced for Tudor Autos and not its neighbouring properties. Gravedwellers presence made clear in "Dogtown" Los Santos, SA (June 18, 2019) - submitted by HELM Following the burning of the Gravedwellers' clubhouse in El Burro, taking place only eleven months ago, the "outlaw motorcycle gang", as the media describes them due to their violent acts, has been reported to have set their sights on Vespucci grounds, in which they refer to as "Dogtown". The Gravedwellers have been demonstrating their presence in the city lately, they are commonly labelled as "stains in the city." The outlaw group have been reported to cause disturbances during barbecues, drunken nights and their obnoxiously loud motorcycles. Parkway Customs was reported to have shut down and collapsed due to the financial issues that derived from, allegedly, heavy extortion carried out by the outlaw group. Although a few of their "patch-holders" were employed in the automotive business, it would be no surprise for the Gravedwellers to have infiltrated the business for monetary benefits and enforce their legal agenda, as such has already occurred in the past. Despite their outlandish behaviour, many describe the group as "a good time overall". Not more than a few days ago, the group was seen assisting a family involved in a vehicular breakdown in the Hawick area, according to our bystander. They have been contributing to the community through charity runs, campaigns and general assistance to residents. However, there is no doubt they can be quite the burden to the city. State of outlaw motorcycle club unknown Los Santos, SA (December 26, 2018) - submitted by HELM The Gravedwellers have demonstrated their ruthless behaviour in the previous months, ranging from large-scale brawls to acts of violence involving shootings and knife attacks against rival club members. Such events have captured the public and media's attention. The outlaw motorcycle club has shown no signs of presence in Los Santos following Scott Haines' death, identified as the charter's President. Haines' death took place during a brutal shootout with the police. Detective Erin Morgan was also identified as a casualty. Their garage however, Parkway Customs, located next to the Los Santos International Airport, seems to be running by unaffiliated mechanics. Trails of the Gravedwellers have yet to be traced in the city of Los Santos. Los Santos Motorcycle Club expecting clubhouse renovations Los Santos, SA (June 29, 2018) - submitted by HELM El Burro based outlaw motorcycle club “Gravedwellers” are believed to be expecting changes to their home. The building was originally used as the headquarters for a car junkyard that belonged to the same club, locals claim that the building is used as a front for illegal business, however solid evidence has yet to come, as the group have been seen wandering the streets of Vespucci. The Gravedwellers' existence in Los Santos goes often unrecognized by the citizens, possibly due to their more "underground" work in the past couple of days. However, the biker scene isn’t unfamiliar with the bunch, as back in 2008 we have previously covered a major brawl going off between several motorcycle clubs at the annual “Bike Fest” in Liberty City, one of the MC’s involved being none other than the Gravedwellers themselves.

Short description: Please add Matches and lighters to the game as a requirement for smoking drugs or cigarettes. Detailed description: Adding two new items to the game, I'd like to expand the system to match the newly added cigarettes. These will have a set number of uses before the ignition source goes bad or needs to be refilled. This gives the player an option to pick and choose what he or she feels will suit them best. Businesses could request custom match packs featuring their company name or phone number. A second purpose is for the procurement of meth as Matches are crucial piece of the puzzle Commands to add: /refilllighter Items to add: $5 - Pack of Matches - Treat them like cigarettes when you obtain a pack it has 20 uses before it's useless. $15 - Lighter - Your typical cheapo gas station lighter, works most of the time; has 50 uses before it's useless. $50 - Zippo - Refillable lighter, your seasoned smoker will go for this. 80 lights before it needs to be refilled with Lighter fluid. $10 - Lighter Fluid - Small,flammable liquid filled;plastic-nozzle bottle of premium lighter fluid for refilling your favorite lighter. How would your suggestion improve the server? This goes hand-in-hand with the new cigarette system recently added. Players would be required to have not only a cigarette / drug to ingest they need something to ignite it with. Short Description: This suggestion outlines the various ways players can manufacture and procure methamphetamine. Props to @iAMTemple for coming up with the Crack Cocaine/ Addiction System overhaul guide as it was the inspiration to this suggestion. Methamphetamine (Meth) is a man-made (synthetic) chemical unlike marijuana which grows in the ground. Manufacturing meth is an art form in itself; injury and death during the “cooking” process is common. Impurities and foreign substances can not only ruin your product it can kill you and your operation in a flash. Consisting of a variety of household chemicals, over the counter cold medicine, and other readily available materials the low cost; high potency high; attracts people from far and wide. Formulas consist of upwards of thirty-two different chemicals used to make a unique blend. Forms and Usage Powdered Meth - Often less potent form of meth it's ground up for the purpose of being snorted or injected. Usually off white-yellow in color. Crystal Meth - Solid, glassy translucent form of the drug that is formed upon dissolving the powder in solvent. Generally higher quality/potency than powder forms. Crystal meth is typically smoked or injected. Meth Tablet - RESERVED - WIP Liquid Methamphetamine - RESERVED - WIP Cooking Methods & Potency Shake-n-Bake Also known as one-pot meth; it's produced using a bottle and a few chemicals readily available. Can be made on the go with little to no setup. Users often make this as they travel or drive. Player is required to /shakebottle every 6-8 seconds during the cooking procedure which lasts 1 Minute 30 seconds or PRE-determined time Because of the simplicity with this model your yield is never large and often unpredictable. Mixing and matching ingredients sets will cause a failure, Example - Mixing Lithium and Phosphorous will not create meth. Failure to do so yields a failed batch(losing all materials) and physical damage. Lab (Small/Large) Your tried and tested setup for producing methamphetamine. These include hardware that is not easy to move and hazardous in itself. Consisting of equipment similar to an industrial kitchen or brewery you'll need to get yourself situated gear wise before you even consider cooking your first batch. These range from small to fully integrated large scale multi-million dollar setups. Larger, more laborious setup, yields higher when cooking properly. REQUIREMENTS- Iron Pot + Mixing Bucket + Blue Barrel + Burner + Propane tank INGREDIENTS - Water + Wood Ash + Lithium & Ammonia or Phosphorous & Iodine + Cold/Diet Pills + Gasoline/Lighter Fluid Produces Crystal Methamphetamine ~ Strong, addictive high that affects the central nervous system. Health and other bonuses take immediate effect but are short lived. Users face a very high probability of becoming addicted rapidly. Lab Process (Total Time ~ 48 to 72 Hours) Combine Cold/Diet Pills in a Mixing bucket with your solvent, (gasoline (Gas can) or lighter fluid) - Mixture must be heated so your propane and Iron Pot now come into play. - Heating properly with a burner and Propane produces Unprocessed Meth Base. Taking your newly acquired Meth Base you must now combine it in a blue barrel with Wood Ash to neutralize the remaining acids. After a period of time the mixture binds and allows you to separate the liquid from the end product. Processed Meth Base is formed after X amount of time. Take Processed Meth Base and combine with Solvent (Gas or Lighter Fluid) in another blue barrel. A - This mixture is left so the solid crystals can form and separate from the remaining liquid methamphetamine. (24 IG Hours) B - This Mixture is strained and dried; resulting in lower grade, Powdered Methamphetamine. After 24 hours the Processed Meth Base is reduced and your final product, Crystal Meth is now formed. Thoughts and concerns While more expensive this method produces a larger quantity and its in a crystal form, a higher potency version of the drug that works longer and stronger. Like brewing alcohol there is a set process and it requires the equipment to stay stationary. Failure to follow the procedure will end in failure. Higher Cost - Higher Risk - Higher payoff. Individual labs can be formed to make the specific components in a larger scale lab. You may spend two days stock piling unprocessed meth base so you have a larger quantity for a big cook. You need to weigh your options, would you rather wait 24 hours and let your crystals form thus making a bigger profit with higher risk? Or do you process it right away, strain it off and save yourself sometime by settling with powdered meth? Mixing and matching ingredients sets will cause a failure, Example - Mixing Lithium and Phosphorous will not create meth. Ingredients include; Ephedrine/Pseudo-ephedrine This is the single hardest ingredient for meth manufactures to obtain.
