  1. It all started quite a few years back, when friends would gather with their vehicles at a specific location just to hang around and have street races together for a good time as a group. This place went by the name of Banham. People would come and go, race for fun, have a good time or race for money, as betting was and has always been part of the game, or simply the trials to see who's the fastest at each place for the bragging rights. Unfortunately, over the time, the implemented law regarding vehicles and their road taxes put in place by the Government made a lot of people to just leave the city and live somewhere else more affordable, in a way they could still do what they love and be able to sustain their vehicles without having to worry. This however did not prevent the young from showing up on lower-end vehicles that were more easily affordable. The old ones, more wealthy, decided to keep their vehicles and live with it, others decided to use them only for street racing purposes and simply avoid the taxes implemented, removing their plates and prevent the vehicles from being traced back to the owner if it ever came to that. Whoever remained there from back when it all started, insisted in keeping the place alive for old times sake, some lost their lives on it, but a legacy has been left behind by those people and the place still remains to this day alive by those that enjoy to practice this sport and have fun, others decided to stick around and honor those who lost their life's on that route, by continuing to race it. Banham however would not be the only place where these people would meet, hang out, show off their rides and race, there were other places. Other routes where even racing tournaments had been held, these places are still used to this day but are not as meaningful and sentimental as Banham is to old school street racers that know the stories of that place. Everyone is and has always been welcome as long as unwanted attention is not brought up, might the person just be a casual who enjoys driving along with friends, a die hard fan of the sport that is in it not just for fun but for the rush of it or others that are willing to risk their own life just so that they can brag to others. OOC Information: Smoke Fragrance is an underground street racing faction aiming to portray a highly realistic environment of the racing scene. This doesn't mean we won't welcome people with less roleplay experience, if you have potential and as long as you don't decide to troll and ruin everyone's experience you are good to go. We don't promote reckless driving without a proper reason, provoking police officers or anything of that sort, more simply put: don't go non-rp driving. If you are caught doing any of that you will be kicked from the faction and blacklisted, depending on the severity. This faction will not be focusing only on the racing part, this isn't going to be only driving around at high speeds or on a certain track with your car. We highly recommend everyone to accurately develop their character accordingly, aswell as their car and roleplay all sorts of stuff beside racing. We will not have ranks, it is entirely based on the respect your character has from others. Your reputation will obviously be affected by the way your character behaves. We would love to see a bigger variety of vehicles used in racing. It's not all about having a fast vehicle, if you have a vehicle that is harder to drive and you control it as if it's part of you, you'll be seen higher in our eyes. Pick a car that fits your character. OOC Rules: First off, we expect you to follow GTA World's rules and regulations. Roleplay every action of your character. If you drive off a cliff, rolling all the way down, we expect you to roleplay your vehicle accordingly, this goes for your character too, do not just roll the car over on its wheels and take off as if nothing happened. Keep in mind that when you race you are breaking the law and you place yourself at the risk of getting your license suspended or revoked, the car you are driving impounded and yourself thrown into a cell, be wary of your decisions and do not act carelessly which will lead into you doing a non-realistic action. Remember, it's not you in the OOC, it is the character that gets hurt and whose car is impounded. We do not encourage you to come over in a fancy ride to race since nobody sane would do that, unless your character could afford such expenses, knowing the risk of a possible crash, so if you bring over your Pariah to race when it would be unrealistic for you to do so, don't be surprised if you will be taken as a fool. We care about your character, not the car they drive. We reserve the right/permission to CK your character(s) after they have been affiliated with our faction/you started to roleplay with us, for whatever reason we may seem fit.

  2. The Patriot Are you tired of the flashing lights of the city? Of the loud nightclubs and the stress of traffic jams? Are you looking for southern hospitality, good ol' American food and drink? Most importantly.. Are you a patriot? Then, you need to come down to the Patriot. The Patriot is a bar in Sandy Shores, a quiet little place on the coast of the Alamo Sea. Our goal is to return to the roots of this nation, and when we say that we are talking about American patriotism, nationalism, strong whiskeys and classical food. This is why the logo of our business proudly sports the flag of the Confederacy aswell as a portrait of General Robert E. Lee. Because, we value independence, we value the men and women that've fought for that independence. It's not about hate, it's about love and understanding and a respect for this nation's roots. What do we offer? So, what is it that we offer at The Patriot? One thing we can proudly and surely say is that we offer a very wide selection of some of the world's finest whiskeys. Our forefathers in the early days of this country and also back in Europe drank far more whiskey than we do today. Bars and nightclubs today offer you all kinds of vodka's and various liquors from all over the world. But we have decided to specialize in this old American and European tradition. We offer a selection of Irish, Scottish but also American whiskeys of various age and tastes at a fair price. We typically offer whiskeys from 3 years of aging as a bare minimum up to 15 years! And if you'd like an even older whiskey and you are a regular patron of the bar, we've got a system in place for that aswell which I will go into a bit later. But you might be wondering, what else do we offer other than whiskey? Well of course, we offer many other things aswell. We offer various beers available in the state that go with the atmosphere of our bar. Popular brands such as Patriot Beer, Golden Dusche, Benedict & even the Irish Guinnes. Of these beers that we offer, we typically offer all their variations. The light ones, the extra stout ones and the dark ones. You pick and we serve. We also offer non-alcoholic drinks such as various teas, coffee's, water and other drinks. Food is another factor that plays a big role in our bar. We will have a small kitchen which is capable of cooking simple but also complex meals. We will be able to make you everything from the simplest hot dogs and burgers to more complex meals such as deer or hog steaks, hunters stews. All the game served is locally harvested in Blaine County, by me, the owner of the bar. I put my personal hunting skills to work and bring the food to your plate. I skin it, I clean it and I take care of it. No factory processing! Perhaps the most important thing we offer of all is our company, a relaxed atmosphere, country music and a guarantee of high quality social interaction. We value each patron and we understand that not everyone is rich. This nation was built by hard working people. This is why we CHOOSE to not have an enterance fee, to have free parking space and to offer our alcohols and drinks at a reasonable price! The Patron's Privilege We call it 'The Patron's Privilege'. So, what is it? It is something that I, the owner of the bar have come up with. If you are a regular patron of the bar and you contribute to a good and positive atmosphere and don't cause any trouble.. We are willing to give you the so called Patron's Privilege. This enables you to request a bottle of almost any whiskey you want that we are currently not serving normally. Something premium, special that you want. For example a bottle of the Glenfiddich 18 Years? Or maybe an Ardmore 21 Years? Such whiskeys are too premium to be served regularly to everyone. But if you're a regular and good patron, we promise to fulfill your wish by ordering and putting aside a bottle for you and anyone that you want to offer a drink. Since these whiskeys are premium, expensive and sometimes rare. We typically have to import them from outside of the US. So you will pay as usual when you order a glass. However, we will keep the price completely reasonable! Where are we situated? Our bar is situated in Sandy Shores between Marina Drive & Algonquin Boulevard. Sandy Shores itself is located on the shores of the Alamo Sea in Blaine County. Above is a satelite map of Sandy Shores with a red arrow pointing exactly at our bar. And don't worry, we have a parking lot which is FREE of charge to park in as long as you please!

  3. We had an interesting discussion on this a few months ago here: The whole discussion raised several interesting points on the official system. I'll quote my opinion from it: So - by removing official, the need for a constant strive for quality could be created, as if benefits were split into individual applications, factions would need to put in solid effort to work towards them, rather than put solid effort for a short period of time, getting official, then never needing to bother again. Supplies and other benefits could be done on a recurring basis, to motivate those to work for them. Instead of a permanent pinned thread for official factions, factions could be pinned for a duration of a month if they're striving to be the best quality, and if they fall off, they don't get awarded with another months worth - giving a constant motivator to keep working to being the best. I think it's an interesting idea and it's worthy of trying. The previous thread covered the topic quite well.

  4. I can't see any downsides to this really and I'm sure the Gold Donators won't mind sharing similar badges with Bronze / Silver Donators either.

  8. There used to be a poker script in the server but it was removed early on from what I remember. Probably for the best though since the poker script was in absolute shambles, an updated poker script would be cool though, something like LS-RPs version

  10. Official Factions Here we go... It has come to Faction Management's attention that it is time for an overhaul of the "official" system and general process for our quality factions. Before this happens, we would like to get the communities opinion prior to making a final decision. The question ultimately is this - Is it time to get rid of the official status? Now, before people go into melt down and start being negative, this is purely to get information and opinions before we DO make that final call, if we're unable to keep this civilized the decision will be made without community input so please do remember that before you post. In addition, I would like to encourage people to post their reasoning behind a yes, no or maybe and include suggestions on how we go forward. If we keep it, what do you want to see? If it's removed, again, what would you like to see in replacement of the status? If you do not wish to post and would rather put your suggestion across privately, please feel free to inbox me.

  11. In full support. I'm currently working on a weather system for Los Santos based mostly on LA with some Orange County factors mixed in to compliment Blaine County. There was an idea in Weazel News in the last month about weather forecasts, you'll need to ask Mecovy about that one. RAGE sync still seems to be inconsistent with the weather. A good idea to play by is that unless the weather's officially declared in OOC chat by an admin, assume it's sunny.
