  1. Hi! So for a little introduction, I play Christopher Foreman and Ryan Lionheart and I run the Los Santos Fire Department alongside with @Björk. Recently it has come to our attention that we have a fair few ranks free within the LSFD faction and we thought we could provide more RP for the server and opportunities for unique roleplay within the faction, however in a non-firefighting capacity. You could call it a "Civilian Employee" role or something along the lines. For example we were thinking of having an LSFD Chaplain / Psychologist which would be essentially a mental healthcare specialist for both PD and FD, or just generally a psychologist. Another example we thought of could be an LSFD specialist mechanic. We wish to know what you, the community, would like to see available in order to provide for more RP between the faction and of course, you guys and girls. So, what kind of civilian employee roles would you like to see? And how would it benefit the server and the FD?

  2. An issue that a lot of players have been having lately is that their anti virus software is flagging a RAGEMP file as a potential threat. This is a false positive that happens because the files in question act like a virus. The files are injected into the game which allows you to play on RAGEMP servers and load custom scripts that developers create! You will need to follow a few steps to add the RAGEMP directory to your antivirus' exclusions so that the files aren't flagged anymore. This might even give you a small boost in performance! Steps for Windows Defender (Windows 10) : Move your mouse down to your taskbar and right click on the shield icon (reference) If you can't see a shield icon, you need to click on the little arrow next to your icons which will expand the view Click on "View security dashboard" (reference) Click on "Virus & threat protection" (reference) Click on "Virus & threat protection settings" (reference) Scroll all the way down (reference) Click on "Add or remove exclusions" under the "Exclusions" category (reference) Click on "Add and exclusion" (reference) Select "Folder" in the dropdown menu Select your RAGEMP directory and click on "Select Folder" in the bottom right Click on "Yes" when the "User Account Control" prompt comes up You're good to go! It is recommended to either reinstall RAGEMP or run the updater.exe file found in your RAGEMP directory to recover the lost files. The steps shouldn't vary too much depending on your anti virus software which allows you to add an exclusion easily and continue playing. If this didn't fix your issue or you're having other issues with RAGEMP, I recommend checking out the following thread found on their forums: https://rage.mp/forums/topic/1816-client-troubleshooting-tips-fixes/

  3. Update 1.3.1 Additions The black friday reward has now changed, be the first to win it to discover what it is! The chance to receive one was multiplied by x3 for all players every hours you play! Different types of fires will now randomly start on the map based on the city life There will never be more than one fire for every third fireman on duty. New firetypes: Burned out cars that spawns ontop and around of the static car objects found around San Andreas (Not player owned vehicles). Outside fires that spawns ontop and around of static objects such as a booth, market stall, mailboxes and more. Garbage fires that spawns ontop and around of static objects such as bins, dumbsters and more. Electrical fires that spawns ontop and around of static objects such as electrical installations, lightpoles, phonebooths and more. Four new firesizes to add variation (Controls the amount of actual fires being created) The tattoo customization is back! You can now go to your favorite tattoo parlor and get some amazing tattoos Fixes No player is required to gather information about the game used to start a fire anymore Wildfires can't spawn randomly inside Los Santos anymore Fixed "/clearchat" only clearing 13 chat lines out of the increased 15 Fixed "/badge" still showing the badge if the target is too far away Properties inventories and cashbox are now wiped when a new player purchases it Tweaks Fire types will each use a different radius to determin the random spread for variation The fire department wont be notified of a newly started fire immediately The 911 call for newly started fires now match the standard 911 format The 911 call message for the fire department will fit the firetype Gas powered fires are disabled as they don't spread properly nor provide a sufficient experience Your primary radio slot will now be shown when you use "/radiohelp"

  4. I think this is a great idea, having to give out our personal phone numbers is pretty odd, especially when trying to run a business.

  6. *A small bit of paper is logged into his diary which is returned to Kangas locker in station 7* Los Santos Fire Department Log #004 I'm Sorry Me n' Clara had a massive falling out... a huge one even, she was expressing grave concerns about my mental health and told me she'll have to report this over to Chief Foreman and Assistant Chief Björk, I just flipped, told her not to bother talking to me again. I know I'm having troubles, some days I do wish I just pulled the trigger on myself instead of that fucking window. Hell... even this morning I was taking a decent drive to find a suitable place to do it... but I got hit by a car, went out on impact, Wolfsbane n' Lionheart came over to treat me but they found my gun n' ammo. I got a feeling they know I'm not in the best possible shape right now, it's obvious, hell, I had to bust the lock of my metal case to get my damn gun. Working the past few days was rough. There's only so much a man can take before something has to snap... and I'm about to snap. Chloe has recently found my diary and she looked through it, she just wants to talk to me but... I just don't want to talk, I can't talk about this anymore, it hurts so fucking bad, this pain needs to stop. It HAS to stop one way or another. I'm still finding ways of coping but I'm not finding many, maybe I need to talk to the Chief or someone... I'll try and find Evita later tonight, but... shit... I don't want to put more pressure onto her, fuck it.. Mark you can sort it out yourself buddy... yeah... If anyone does eventually find this, I'm sorry, I've let Clara down, I've let the department down, I've let Evita down. This might be my last post in this diary, unless I get some help or whatever, I might just... publish the diary onto Facebrowser one day, show people that we do care for the city and we try... so fucking hard to take care of all of you, but at the cost of our mental health. I hope there's a solution within this fucking madness. Ah shit... I need to sort out Holly's class... MK

  7. Me being a Psychologist IRL, I've already offered to start slowly but steadily to work on a mental health service to offer for starters to both FD and PD, as mental health issues are a very present theme in the RP for many of our characters there, but here are other options: Accountant - Particularly relevant with the new tax changes, if people are quite into spreadsheet RP. Mechanic - We crash our ambulances more than we'd like to admit. Whoopsie! Lawyer - Someone to keep on retainer, not necessarily within the Department in a permanent position. Maintenance work/Janitor - I love people doing simple, colorful RP like this, gives a lot of life to have someone like that around. Locksmith - Because we don't always have to kick doors down I guess. Fire Alarm technical support/installation - For when the Fire Alarm system eventually comes. These are some I can think of off the top of my head!

  8. Yes, but I think you can still add more to it to make it even better For example you could have set that anyone with X rank in your business can see the phone call and answer it and then patch the phone call to someone else if needed, e.g. a receptionist picking up a phone and passing it through to a manager, i don't know if that is too niche but it could be useful for some businesses to add an air of professionalism and such

  9. Well but I mean that I could and would like to use it in a way that many people might find wrong, but I think carries a degree of fairness. Say I do some shenanigans with the police on my BMX, and try to get away. I drive a bike that tops at 35 mph and I kinda might rely on verticality to have a chance to get out, which might mean stuff like wheelieing off stairs to be launched in the air a bit. ... anyone might reasonably bring that up as me using "game physics" to my advantage, but I personally don't find that many of these jumps are terribly unbelievable in the context of the game, even if it's clear that they wouldn't all be feasible IRL (for instance ramps in the game work very badly, whereas construction blocks make for amazing natural ramps, but you wouldn't be able to use those IRL).

  10. My opinion after reading over the topic and first few comments. Those who are saying anyone RP'ing death should be forcibly CK'd can in my personal opinion go screw themselves. LS-RP had this similar issue with people using death as a means to avoid jail/prison or whatever else have you. If it is someone RP'ing death after getting into a car crash during a pursuit by the police or RP reaching for an imaginary gun just to get shot by the police, then yes.. Force CK them, please.. It's so annoying lmao. Otherwise, it is up to the players own decision - specifically on heavier injuries like someone shooting another, to decide how capable their character is at surviving the injuries received. If people are being dumb and RP'ing death from small injuries, like a single stab wound to the gut, then yes.. that should be a CK. Essentially; People that don't understand how to accept a loss and blatantly RP death after having been shot three times or crash a car to avoid prison or anything else, should be reported for poor RP/ warned that it'd be a CK / CK'd if they still prefer death over taking the L and accepting the fact they got caught slipping. It is the best way to go about the issue. Edit; This all falls under common courtesy and role-play capability/quality. It varies from situation to situation, keep that in mind.

  11. Okay, so what I'm getting from your quote and response is that it's not fun for either of the parties involved, I agree with you. But it's not meant to be fun if you're doing something illegal; mainly because a) your roleplay personally involves resources of legal factions and b) there needs to be risk for reward, claiming a player kill to escape jail time is dissolving the risk. As for prison roleplay, if it's required to resolve the issue that illegal roleplayers have, I support that. Also, criminals don't have to sit there after the crime scene, typing out the documentation on the situation, respawn and run away. As for this, my suggestion is exactly that, consequences to player kills; mine being that you either roleplay heavy injuries and survive or you roleplay death. The consequence of this would be additional character flaws due to injuries and being able to be charged for the crime they did. Currently, there's no risk for reward in the illegal sector, at this state, you can go chain robbing and claim a PK when PD finally end your temporary "fun". Theoretically. Personally, I'm still sticking with the fact that once you roleplay death, it should be a permanent death. If you're script-killed in a player kill fashion, it's too stupid to end your character's development so you should be able to roleplay heavy injuries, perhaps fall into a coma or just something along those lines. This would also give the opportunity for a hospital faction to open. I appreciate your addition to the discussion and I have yet to be player killed on this server because even if I were to be script-killed in "unsatisfying, dumb and non-RP ways" then it'll be more sensible to get the situation sorted with an admin rather than let that kind of behavior plague your roleplay. I feel like that's why people have formed such a comfort layer around the current player-kill system because they let others kill them with little to no reason. I also agree with you on more defined rules when it comes to PKs and CKs because I feel like they're not enforced correctly. Exactly what I thought and want to argue in this suggestion, people are claiming and/or roleplaying death, claiming it as a player kill to escape whatever situation they're in. As for the last part, that's what a player kill should be, roleplaying heavy injuries by respawning at a hospital ONLY if there are no admins or EMS to revive you and roleplay taking you to the hospital. Other than the last sentence of this quote, this is exactly what I'm pushing for. I agree with this part too. It's quite silly to see people die; friend or foe and then see them walk again, are we also meant to roleplay amnesia effects of their death? Or do we roleplay a shock emotion that the corpse is walking? Thank you for chipping in, there are mixed opinions and I would love for there to be a middle ground rather than the current, broken system.
